“Growing up online, I’ve always seen a plethora of styles circulating the internet, and yet it wasn’t often I found something that really spoke to me. I constructed my style as a kind of eclectic collection of clothing: chokers, black jeans, and doc martens. Possibly the most important aspect of it all, though, is my jean jacket. I got it years ago and immediately started making it my own. I’ve sewn on patches, made my own simple embroidery, and clipped on buttons and pins. It lets me express myself in a way no other clothing really does. I have pins from queer artists that I love and patches from small, LGBT-friendly business that I want to support. Having something so customizable and personal has helped me feel more comfortable with my own identity, body, and existence as an out queer and transgender person”.
