I renovated 2B Jasmine Suites to suit Maxis’ Flynn Family from the gallery. It’s based on SimLicy’s Renovation of this Apartment. The Flynn family is comprised of Dad and two sons so I pretty much just decorated accordingly. It’s very messy and cluttered as I figured with two rambunctious boys he was going to struggle to keep the place tidy as many parents often do! I also tried to keep the cost of this apartment down as much as possible.

I didn’t know whether to upload this to the gallery or not as I remade the kitchen from the renovation and the floorplan and some object placements are very similar. I renovated this a while ago but I’m pretty sure I took a lot of inspiration from that renovation. So I haven’t uploaded it to the gallery especially as it doesn’t have “original by Simlicy” on it because I built/decorated and furnished it from scratch after watching the video [rather than placing the room from the gallery and then editing it].

So I was scrolling through Pinterest and I saw a beautiful beach house. I tried to recreate it, so here it is :) I might put it up on the Gallery if anyone’s interested. This house will be in my custom save file ;)

Playing through the Shaw Legacy has reminded me how rubbish some of the default lots really are and how ridiculous some of the townie outfits look! So I’ve decided that I want to create a save that is just the way I want it.

I don’t know how well it’s going to go. In the past, I’ve spent a few days on a custom base save of my own and then fizzled out and left it. For 2019, I’ve decided that I’m going to - albeit slowly and steadily - work through each of the worlds in the game and build, renovate, makeover and create a sim until it’s just right.

I’m not sure if it will be complete by 2020 but that’s my aim. Makeovers and create a sim tend not to take me too long but builds and renovations have historically taken me no less than three days!

Self Imposed Rules:- 1. CC free [I don’t really use CC anyway so this should be easy] 2. During Townie Makeovers I won’t alter their personalities and I will try to avoid altering the way they look, just their outfits so they look as true to the original as possible. 3. I don’t think it will be 100% my own builds as I’m not that good haha! If I use someone else’s build, I will reblog the original and let you know how I’ve renovated it to suit my save!

Bheeda Family - Townie Makeover

A makeover for the Bheeda family! I actually really like Jesminder Bheeda but I’m always surprised she comes with the hot-headed trait. I tried to keep a vibrant artsy but expecting momma style for her and for Arun somewhere between office and dad. I like how they turned out and Arun is surprisingly good looking! I’m not sure which of these two would be the stay at home parent but somehow I feel like it would be Arun more than Jesminder.

Rockin’ Rollers - Townie Makeover

I made over the Rockin’ Rollers household from the Maxis’ Gallery. I really tried to keep the red, white and blue colour theme they had going on but for Beth I just couldn’t do it. She just suited more pastel-y colours. What I did do, however, is keep their everyday outfit as their bowling outfit! I’m planning to move these guys into an apartment in the spice district as roommates so I tried to give them some styles that you might see university students wearing because for some reason in my mind that’s what they are! But hey ho.

I’m quite pleased with how they turned out... not so much with how long it took me to sort their outfits out. I did have to tweak Beth’s body a little. It looked strange. I kept her as a big girl but they had selected the most buff body type and then dragged the fat scale all the way up. So I picked a more neutral but still curvy body type and did the same thing until she looked almost the same but not quite so strange! Hope you like them!

Old Salt House Restaurant [by Lilsimsie] Lot Type: Restaurant Lot Size: 30 x 30 Price: $112,639 Packs: City Living, Get Together, Get to Work, Dine Out, Spa Day, Romantic Garden Stuff, Cool Kitchen Stuff, Perfect Patio Stuff

I haven’t really changed this lot for my save at all. I stumbled across this by accident and thought it was brilliant. It’s a Lilsimsie renovation. It’s supposed to be a seafood restaurant but I’m saving that for Brindleton Bay. Instead I’ve made it into a custom menu featuring almost all of the special recipes available from city living. I thought that would fit better within the spice district. I’d planned to make a curry house of sorts but there wasn’t enough Indian recipes on their own. So instead it has foods of the world.

Of course! When I placed the family in 2B Jasmine Suites, I also had to give them a makeover! I can’t remember why I stuck with a reddish orange theme but I think it suits them. Poor Dylan. Lost his wife and has two wild kids to contend with!

Next up, 2A! This apartment so wasn’t ready for a baby pre-renovation. This renovation was 90-95% Lilsimsie. So again it won’t be uploaded to the gallery. 

I wanted to keep the colour scheme the same throughout so I changed up the bedroom. I also wanted the computer in the main room so changed that a bit too. At the time I did this, I didn’t have all of the packs that were available so I might have also changed some stuff up because of that. When I renovate, I tend to look at videos/images of other people’s renovations and then re-build what I like from scratch so the furniture might not be exactly the same or in the same place.

Overall, I’m super happy with how it looks and of course it’s now baby-ready and wouldn’t be too difficult to alter for a toddler/child/teen unlike the previous layout.
