Non-Metal
Author Here: I noticed a lot of people out there wrote the reader liking metal rock songs for Eddie Munson x reader fics. I, personally, am not a fan of that genre(Of course I don’t judge people who do), so, I figured I’d write one where the reader doesn’t like metal rock but still has a fun time with Eddie :)
Relationship: Eddie Munson x Female Reader
Fandom: Stranger Things
Warnings: Fluff :), Eddie being his usual dorky self

I’m not much of a music fan in general. Of course, it helps out a lot during situations. Like studying, parties, and many other things. But when it comes to blaring music that is only helping your ear drums pop, then it certainly isn’t for me.
I let out a breath I didn’t even know I was holding once the loud music has stopped. I turn towards the man who wanted to introduce it to me in the first place. His lips moved with a wide smile. He was talking to me.
I let my ears free from pushing down on them so hard to keep the sound out. They stung a bit, possibly numb, from how long I was closing them off. “Huh?” I ask him, since I didn’t hear him the first time.
He chuckles. “Was it really that deafening? There’s no way you don’t like this music!”
I smile at him. “I’m sorry, Eddie...I just can’t get into it!”
He laughs hysterically. “That is not metal at all.” his head shakes in disappointment.
“Oh, come on!” I push his shoulder gently. “It just...hurts my head.” I admit.
He turns to me with widened eyes. His hands quickly caress my face, his arms reaching over the middle compartment of his van. “Shit! You okay? Your head okay? I’m sorry, (Y/N). I didn’t-”
My giggling fits stop his rambling. I gently grip his wrists and remove them from my face. “Yeah, Eddie. I’m fine. Just a little headache. You had no idea, so don’t blame yourself for it.” I give him a wide smile. “I did say I’d check out your music, didn’t I?”
He chuckles, his hands staying in mine. “Yeah, you did. So...it’s your fault.” he puts a pouty face on.
I laugh. “Shut up! Take me home already, would you? How long have we been sitting in the school parking lot anyway?” I glance around. It was completely dark outside.
“Um, maybe an hour?” He starts to move the car, the engine revving up as he accelerates the speed.

Bonus:
The car ride was silent. A comfortable silence on the almost empty streets. “So...uh, are we...uh...still friends...?” He quietly asks. Almost to a whisper, but I managed to catch it.
I give him a goofy smile. “What?! Are you serious? All because of our different music tastes? I would rather chew off my own brain then judge someone by their own opinions and tastes.” I laugh.
He chuckles, as if he was relieved. “Oh, thank god! Because I still care about you, you know? I’d probably die without you.”
My face gets hot quickly by his words. “Oh, Eddie...I care about you, too.”
