HotDads™

So as I mentioned earlier, I work at a school. At said school, The children's parents pick them up at the end of the day. Some said dads are incredibly attractive and nice and have sweet kids that love them so much. Of course, I would never act upon the discovery of a new HotDad™. My mind just wanders sometimes. Especially when you have never met the student's mother and haven't heard of anyone who has... anyway. Yeah. Not that I'm focusing on any singular person at all.

So at one point in time, a student approached me and said:

" Miss *Name of whomstever you please* you should come to my house for dinner tonight!"

"I don't think so *adorable child name* I don't think your mommy and daddy would want a guest for dinner." He's so dang cute and I just love that kid to death.

"No, my daddy wants you to!" And I obviously didn't believe him but was taken aback because his dad was HotDad™ #1. Alpha HotDad™. HotDad™ in charge. Anyway, from that day forward, my co-workers and I look forward to seeing him every afternoon.

The cute first year PhD students

My reaction when a couple of first year PhD students complained that the third year students were being far too cynical in their welcome/ advice speech, since they really don't think doing a PhD is that hard...

a 5th grader's journal.

last year Coteach had the 5th and 6th graders write English diaries all year in their notebooks, and we took turns correcting them and writing comments every week.  Baby Coteach [my new coteacher this year] and i didn't do that this year, but 2nd semester they have to write them as commanded by the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education.  of course most of the kids are outraged [even tho this year's 6th graders had to do it weekly instead of bi weekly like last year . . .] but the 5th graders are doing alright with it.  

one 5th grader who's been talking to me every chance he can get's English name is Alex.  i don't remember him really actively participating in class or even being interested in English last year, but this year he seems a lot more excited about English.  he appears to be part of the crew who is too cool to take class seriously, but i was surprised when i saw his English Diary.  this was the first time Baby Coteach and i collected them to grade, and he apparently decided he wanted to decorate his.

one of his favorite things to talk about is his love of beetles.  him and another 5th grader in a different class have pet beetles and love researching them and talking about the ones they hope to buy someday.  he wrote a lot more than required inside, too.  i'm so proud of him, and i hope he doesn't change anytime soon.

and in case you're wondering, i do not only like my students who are named Alex.  it's coincidence, i swear!  i love all my kiddies, whether they choose to see it or not♥

Little Writer: Alex teacher, do you love Dimples?

me: ㅇㅅㅇ;; umm . . . well we are old friends and i like him very much.

Little Writer: he is a good boy. he is a very good boy.

me: ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ yes, he really is.

This is the cutest ever!!

So, I think everyone in tumblr already knows that I work as an English teacher in a highschool, teaching grade 10 - 12. There are things that i feel so hard, working as a teacher doesn't pay much, and all those administrative work,blah blah blah.

But, the cute acts of my young students, make me enjoy my work and makes me feel young at heart. I also learn how to be a mother, an older sister, a friend, and anything that my students need me to be.

and today i found one thing that LITERALLY make me LOL VERY HARD.. seriously, I was floored.

So, these last few weeks have been very hard for my students, as they are facing exam. All the learning in one semester must be shown in their result. Me, as a teacher, also get a job that i sometimes feel bad about, checking work and scoring.

The exam in English is divided into 2 parts. Multiple choice and Essay. For he essay, they have to write a 500-word essay based on the topic they choose(i gave them 7 topics to choose) and one of it is to retell a folktale using their own words.

guess what?

a student choose a topic of a folktale, and she wrote a story of a princess and a prince (duh!) and they have to go through many obstacles before they can finally unite and live happily ever after..and she named the princess "Taemin" and the prince "Onew"

SEE Club was a lot better. I didn't really teach, just supervised.

Ran into two of my students on my 1 minute walk home. They ran up to me and were so excited, "Hi teacher!" They kept smiling and trying to speak English. And then they physically fed me a chip because I asked them what they were eating. So adorable!
