After spending some time sat in front of the mirror, you were pleased with the look you had conjured up. Not even 24 hours prior to this point in time were you asked out on a date by none other than Todoroki, the boy you’d been silently pining over since before you could remember. Apparently, unknown to you, it was the same case for him. So with equally red faces and a shy exchange of preferences, the two of you planned to go for dinner somewhere he would often frequent with his family.
It’s a little out of your comfort zone if you were to be frank, but it gives you all the more reason to dress up for the occasion. Giving your outfit a final check over, the last thing on your mental checklist was to add lipstick to your makeup and ultimately complete your look. Upon doing so however, you realised you would need to blot it once or twice to remove any excess.
Though right as you were about to head into the bathroom and sort that impending issue, there was a knock at your door. Knowing there was only one person it could be, you open it to be faced with the man of the hour - and man did he look good. Dressed in a nice shirt and trousers combo, his jacket was thrown casually over his shoulder while his free hand was still closed into a fist from his knocking.
Upon seeing you his eyes go wide, fully taking in the image of you stood in front of him like this and storing it for what he hopes is forever. You’re simultaneously doing the same thing, eyes scanning him up and down quickly before catching his eyes. Doing so brings an idea into your mind however, but you give him your sweetest smile to defer him momentarily. “Hey Shoto, I’ll be ready in just a minute” you tell him, standing aside and allowing him to walk into your apartment.
Wordlessly he enters, standing awkardly in the middle of the room before leaning comfortable against your vanity. With your previous plan of blotting your lipstick with some tissue now out of the window, you collect your bag and jacket before moving to stand in front of him. Giving him another smile, you swear you see his eyes light up and it causes your heart to already quicken in beat.
“You look very pretty - beautiful, actually..” he tells you, the most earnest expression you’ve ever seen on him. Deciding now is your chance, you lean in and quickly give his lips a peck. Clearly he’s thrown off by your action, body jolting in surprise and his eyes wider than they were at your door. Letting out a laugh, you bring your hand with the tissue up to his lips to wipe it off. “Sorry, I’d heard that the best way to blot lipstick was kissing someone else” you explain quickly, a sly smile still taking over your face.
His hand catches your wrist carefully though before you can wipe it off of him, ultimately bringing you closer when he gives it a small tug. “Oh?” he lets out in feign innocence, head tilting the slightest bit before the tip of his nose brushes against yours. “Well, I don’t think you’ve done it right just yet..” he adds, leaning in again and getting the chance to kiss you properly.
Thank god the restaurant was frequented so often by the Todoroki’s, or else there would be no way your reservation would have been held for as long the time you both pulled away from each other and showed up. Even with the lipstick now expertly wiped off of him, there was a good chance it would end up back on his lips and elsewhere before the night ended.
