I know this has been a hot button topic but what are we without sensible dialogue. I’m also of the camp one shouldn’t judge a book by a click bait headline but only after you’ve read something cover to cover. I had a good time reading this. As a Chinese Canadian born female feminist, I really didn’t find anything off putting nor offensive. In actuality I wish I had read this in my floundering 20s rather now in my just catching up 30s, or better yet in my teens for that head start, super boost in life. I think he captures a generation rather well, but I hung with aspiring artists growing up. We were told life would be rainbows and sunshine and we could be whatever we wanted, who knew it would require so much work and even so, things don’t always just pan out just because you work hard and want them to. Life’s not fair, but in actuality beautiful and cruel. We can be there for one another though. Peterson offers insightful reflection and advice and not in an ear deafening, angry berating, stressed out dad way but more like a gentle grandpa whose lived through a couple wars to suggest you try a few things. My favourite pieces of advice were, “don’t compare yourself to others but compare yourself to who you were yesterday.” and a bit about how it is in our vulnerability we find the treasure that is life, being grateful for what you have, never mind how the world is against you but what you can do to change your own situation, facing your own fears a tiny task at a time, telling the truth.. I’m doing an awful job paraphrasing but if you don’t agree, give it a read and see for yourself ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #cutecritic #bookreview #touchytopic #12rulesforlife #jordanpeterson (at Toronto, Ontario) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4Bq8QhACqv/?igshid=1uindx5xu0fag
