I feel so strange about The Maccabees split up. I saw them live for the first time August 13th 2015 at Sziget festival and that’s when I started listening to them. I’ve been absolutely in love with their music through this year, so anxious to see them live again, knowing I’d have to travel for it. But then BOOM, they announced a show in my country, the first in the history of their 14 YEARS EXISTENCE and I was dying from excitement, went and saw them and had an incredible time of my life. That was June 18th 2016, what an amazing day. And now, less than two months later they announce a split. They came to my country for the first time less than two fucking month before splitting. I feel lucky and unlucky. But first and foremost, I feel I’m going to miss them.
Thank you for 4 amazing albums. Thank you for those two amazing shows. A big thank you from a girl who loves your music to a wonderful band.
