the night is calm, the air cool and the moonlight bright. This part of avengers tower feels ALMOST like home with how he can open the windows and let the world and light in. These are the moments he is most homesick when he'd love nothing more than the world to be more simple than it is now. Like it used to be, but then again he would not know the man beside him if that were true.
He looks over at Steve, his eyes closed looking as peaceful as ever as they share the same space. As much as he might miss the days where Asgard was not in danger, that his intervention with Midgard were minimal. This right here, what he has makes everything worth it. Dare say he feels whole with the captain beside him. Perhaps, but he does not know how ready the other would be to hear these words.
Thor shifts in place to his side and Steve's eyes flutter open momentarily with a soft sleepy smile. The god reaches to lift the blanket further up his shoulders, but a hand peeks out to grasp Thor's. Steve has yet to open those blue eyes and yet he knows just where to find Thor's hand and brings it to his lips.
The god swears he can hear thunder in the distance rumbling with the way his heart just pounded against his chest. In response, when his hand is let go and those eyes finally flutter open to gaze up at him, Thor leans in to kiss the man's temple and snuggle back into place which is what was probably being asked of him.
