I'm building a Rakdos artifact deck, and I have a question about Hellkite Tyrant and Liquimetal Coating. So here's the scenario, I control a Liquimetal Coating, make an opponent's permanent an artifact, deal combat damage with the Tyrant, and take control of it. Since the artifact switcheroo only lasts until end of turn, do I lose control of their permanent when my turn ends? Or since I gained control of it I just get to keep it, regardless of it no longer being an artifact? Thanks for your help

You’ll keep the permanent. The Hellkite’s effect only cares about the permanent being an artifact when it happens. Any changes to that permanent (including it ceasing to be an artifact) after that point won’t cause you to lose control of it.

I'm working on a golgari build and it revolves around Corpsejack Menace and creatures with counters. So I have a certain scenario that I need an answer for when opponents ask how it works. Lets say I have two Corpsejack Menaces on the field, and I play a Mistcutter Hydra where the X is 2, the first trigger goes off, then the second one triggers. So would it end up going 2 then double to 4, then with the second one the 4 doubles to 8? I'm not 100% sure how that would play out, help would be great

Let’s be clear — Corpsejack Menace’s ability is a replacement effect, not a triggered ability. There’s no triggering going on.

To answer your question, both Menaces’ replacement effects will be applied. See this ruling on Corpsejack Menace's Gatherer page:

10/1/2012 -- If you control two Corpsejack Menaces, the number of +1/+1 counters placed is four times the original number. Three Corpsejack Menaces multiplies the original number by eight, and so on.

How does Heartless Summoning affect X costs for creatures like Savageborn Hydra or Protean Hydra?Do I get two extra counters or would I just get what I tap for?

When casting a spell, including one with X in the cost, you determine the value of X before you decide how to pay for it.

So: If you decide you want to cast Protean Hydra for X = 5, and you control Heartless Summoning, the cost you must pay is 3G.

I'm working on a Rakdos discard deck and it starts to run out of steam in the mid to late game. I was wondering if there were any good black or red cards that would get my sorcery discard spells back to my hand somehow, gatherer isn't much help. Any help would be appreciated, love the blog

In red and black (particularly if this is for Standard) your options for recurring noncreature cards are pretty much nonexistent. Outside of Standard, you have Shrouded Lore (in black) and Anarchist (in red), but not much else.

At the end of the day, if you want to recur instants and/or sorceries, you really want to be in blue (or green, which can recur anything).

A different option might be to slot in some cards that don’t necessarily help your discard strategy, but can finish the game against a crippled opponent. High-value creatures like Sire of Insanity, Desecration Demon or planeswalkers like Liliana of the Veil can help keep a weakened opponent locked down and/or help end the game before the opponent can recover. Spend the early turns thinning threats and answers from their hand, then drop a mid-to-late-game bomb and watch them scramble to survive.
