Darul-Uloom Deoband's new fatwa: Bans Muslim women to do these things

Islamic seminary Darul Uloom Deoband issued a new fatwa which is restricting Muslims ladies from cutting their nails and applying nail polish. In any case, applying mehendi on nails isn't banned.

Darul Iftaa, which issues the Darul Uloom Deoband's edicts, called it "un-Islamic." "Darul-Uloom Deoband has issued fatwa against Muslim ladies cutting their nails and applying nail polish since it un-Islamic. Or maybe ladies should use mehendi instead of nail polish," said Mufti Ishrar Gaura, member from Darul-Uloom Deoband. A year ago, it issued a fatwa forbidding Muslim ladies from plucking, trimming, shaping their eyebrows and cutting hair. Hair adds to beauty of Muslim ladies and they ought to never trim them, pointed the fatwa.“Muslim women should stay away from beauty parlors as Islam does not permit them to have make-up attracting other male members,” said Maulana L Sadiq Qasmi, head of Darul Iftaa, while  issuing the fatwa. “Like Muslim male are not allowed to shave under Islam, eyebrow trimming, hair-cutting and make-up like wearing lipstick, etc is also banned,” he said. “Trend of Muslim women going to beauty parlors has increased in the country. It is not a good sign and it should be stopped immediately. We should have issued a fatwa in this regard long ago,” said he. Read the full article

They say I cut my nails like there's no tomorrow. Dude, tomorrow has become a figment of imagination for most people and for the tons of tomorrows that came still my nails remained this diminutive. I'm sorry if they are incapable of growing longer and dirty.
