#cuttlebone casting

Pewter casting in cuttlefish bone, symbol is meaningless as far as i remember. Penny for scale, ridges side effect of using the cuttlebone which is highly visible on the not photographed side.

Work time from carving cuttlebone to cleaned up pewter was about 1 hour, including cooldown time and the second cast.

This piece was made with the same acrylic nails I ended up casting for my Nails series. It is a bronze cuttlebone casting.

Had an iron pour this weekend. These are the raw results. Going to be cutting them from their sprues and cleaning them up this week i hope.
