okay so yesterday i had my CWEA premiere competition, and it was pretty fun. my team placed 4th out of 12 and 6th out of 24. in the past jv seasons i have been on, i feel good about this season. hopefully i will finally get a medal at championships

This was January 28th, 2017 at the CWEA West Premier Competition in Roebuck, SC at Dorman High School. Right after we preformed. We placed 12th out of 16. This is our costume and our show is called, “A Mid-summer’s Night”. It was like, 50˚F (if your from a place that takes celsius im sorry idk what that would be) so it was really cold and we were walking around in these dresses.

Reasons I love winterguard

- When a performer drops and there’s that scattered chant of “You’ve got it!” From the crowd

- Passing another guard on the way to warmups and wishing each other good luck

- the mutual respect we all have for each other bc we all know how hard we work to get where we are, no matter what class you’re in

- When you’re changing in the bathrooms with a different guard and you end up chatting casually as you strip bare and pull on an incredibly uncomfortable bodysuit

- “Wait you’re from [school name]??? Yall did amazing!!!”

- “Holy shit your makeup looks amazing/I’m in love with your costumes!”

- that feeling you get after a great performance

- When you’re performing and your thoughts are simultaneously empty and focused on every movement you make

- Pre-show rituals

- Okay listen one time after a performance I desperately needed an inhaler and didn’t have one and some random mom from another guard found me one??? Idk who she was but I have a deep respect for her

- When you kind of get to know people from other guards and you follow them on instagram or you greet each other at every competition

- just.. oh my god I love colorguard
