The Swing of Things • The 2020 @nedbank @cape_winemakers_guild will take place online, on the Bonhams website on Saturday 3 October, 2020. It is my seventh year (tough years at the office) attending the showcase, and this was a truly unique experience - specifically because the pandemic has given us all so much more to consider and to be grateful for. As a precursor to the auction, we tasted some of the @cape_winemakers_guild Vinotheque Auction Wines as well as the 2020 CWG Auction Wines at a safe, social-distanced, private pre-auction showcase at @reciprocalwines. The 2017 Ernie Els CWG by winemaker, Louis Strydom, was one of (many) extraordinary pleasures of this occasion. Comprised of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Shiraz and 10% Cinsault. Described as having ‘mouth-filling density’, I can’t wait to share my full note on this and the other wines, soon. Stay safe and stay well.
