SPN spoilers...

Okay, I’m seriously questioning the writers on some things....
For instance, in “What’s Up, Tiger Mommy?” we learn that demons don’t have souls...this means that either the writers threw that out and decided that the black smoke is, in fact, a soul of some sort, or that the Darkness doesn’t feed on souls necessarily, but essences--which means that no one, human, angel or demon, is safe.
Second...what’s up with the powering-down of the angels and demons? Since about season 8, they’ve been making them steadily weaker. These are the two most powerful entities in the SPN universe, and the writers have them all acting like wusses. We went from Abaddon-bad-level demons to demons in nanny aprons who can’t even kick a witch’s ass, and Smiting angels who shatter everything in a mile radius when they appear to angels complaining about their bosses.
And then there’s Crowley....ah, Crowley. I don’t think the writers even know HOW to write BAMF Crowley anymore. We get a couple of scenes where he breaks bad, and we think he’s BACK, and they yank it away from us and he turns back into the reckless, not-thinking-things-through Crowley they’ve been feeding us. I miss the Crowley who had plans within plans within plans, and contingency plans for if the plans fell through...the Crowley who was always ten steps ahead of everyone else. The Crowley who never would have let his mother live, the Crowley who would have sent an army of demons with hellhounds after her last episode. And this attempting to ally with the Darkness? The old Crowley may have considered it briefly, but then would have thought, “Nope. Too powerful. Too hard to control. Okay, now how do I defeat it?” I mean, the Darkness is, essentially Nihilism incarnate. It’s not good, it’s not evil; it’s like a virus that has no particular goal besides expansion. it’s pure NIHILISM, and old Crowley would have thought it through and realized that, and known that it would be impossible to ally with or control something like that.
I mean, am I the only one who looks at Crowley and thinks, “Why is he doing that? No. He would never do that. He’s too smart.” ???
WTAF, writers?
Oh, and on a separate note, I have a mandatory Crowley girl “defend Crowley” rant:
That comment Sam made about Crowley being a dick....really, Sam? This coming from someone who betrayed an ally--who used an ally’s willingness to help his brother to lure that ally to his death (and yes, at that point, Crowley was an ally), and then didn’t even try to kill him to his face, but shot him from behind....you’re calling people dicks? Talk about pots and kettles.... If Crowley had done something like that, he’d be an asshole, but apparently, it’s okay for Sam to do it. Funny how he holds Crowley to a higher moral standard than he holds himself.
You betray him and then expect him to jump when you want his help? Maybe if you didn’t keep trying to KILL him, he MIGHT return your fucking calls.
