Summary: The batch argues over rather Tech should be allowed to take Omega to Tantiss. Part 2 to Day 3: choice.
"Okay?" Hunter pushed Omega behind himself. "No. You can't do that. It's too dangerous."
"Hunter I'll be okay. Tech will be there."
"He could be tricking us. This could be a trap."
Wrecker entered from the back of the room. "It looks clear. We should be able to get out of here." Then he stopped walking and stared at his brother. It started him to see Tech in imperial armor. "Tech." There was no question for him on whether or not that was him.
As Wrecker walked over Tech smiled. "Hello Wrecker." The man grabbed him so hard he thought he was going to snap his bones in half. Still, he didn't stop him as he cried.
"How did you survive?"
"I don't know."
"We have to get out of here." Hunter spoke. "Tell them you didn't find us."
"No! I'm not leaving him. Not this time." Omega yelled at Hunter.
"How do we know he is telling the truth?"
"I trust him." Crosshair joined the conversation.
"Of course you do." Hunter had meant to sound so angry.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"Okay" Wrecker stopped the two from arguing. "Let's focus on what's in front of us."
"You aren't taking her. You're imperial."
"No, I don't think I am." Tech put his helmet down on a table.
"Don't think?" Wrecker asked.
"I don't know. What I do know is that she, as well as the rest of you, are important to me. I won't let her get hurt.“
There was a moment of silence. Hunter didn't know what to do. While he wanted to believe Tech, he always had a hard time trusting people.
"Do you trust me?"
"No." The room was heavy. Tech looked down. He was hurt but still wasn't completely sure why. After a second his eyes landed on his helmet and he wondered what happened to his old armor and if it looked like theirs.
"We don't know what he has been through. It's Tech, Hunter. I trust him." Wrecker stood next to his brother and put a hand on his shoulder. "He wouldn't hurt us."
"Did you trust me?" Tech asked. "At some point?"
"I did. You should know that."
"Wait, why don't you know that?" Crosshair looked confused.
"I don't remember it."
"You lost your memories, didn't you?" Omega sounded upset. She leaned into Wrecker.
"How are we supposed to trust you if you don't even know who we are. All you know us as, is your targets." Slowly Hunter placed his hand over his blaster.
"I remember small things and the way I feel. When we got Echo, and a young Padawan. While I don't know what happened there, Bracca." Tech paused for a moment, a growing look of distress on his face as he remembered more. "Something happened to Kamino."
"You could know that from files."
"Hunter. Its Tech." Wrecker tried to reach for him but he moved.
"Echo said they brainwash the shadow clones. They would rather die than betray their orders."
"Do you remember anything else?" Crosshair put himself between the batch and Tech.
"A stuffed animal and a blue cave with a waterfall." A small smile creeped onto his face. "Racing for a woman who called me googles and treasure hunting with a pirate who called me brown eyes. A good man named 99." Tech's smiled faded "My, last mission with you. The fall and waking up at the bottom of the cavern to that man smiling at me."
Tech started to cry, the memories overwhelming him. Wrecker stopped holding onto Omega and grabbed him. He glared at Hunter and shook his head. "I believe you. I trust you." Omega walked over to them and repeated the sentiment.
Crosshair drug Hunter further away Tech. At first, the man didn't feel like he had done anything wrong. As he fully assessed the situation, he started to realize the mistake he had made. He didn't have to trust him to love him and love should have been enough. While he had been betrayed by people who were supposed to love him, he should have seen Tech and been happy he was alive like the rest.
After a moment, the room went quiet. "I'm sorry." Hunter said.
Moving away from Wrecker, Tech sighed. "I understand. I need to go. If you have a tracker, I will take it."
"We do." Crosshair reached into a pouch and handed the tracker to Tech.
"Tech" Hunter started.
"No. We will talk later. I understand your hesitation and I do not have the full story. My life is in fragments. Trusting me is not an easy decision. If you will not accept me doing this for family, then think of it as something I must do for myself. I don't have to know who you are to know I have loved you for too long to kill you."
"Okay." With that, Tech grabbed his helmet and put it back on. He walked out the door, leaving the room silent.
"What now?" Wrecker said, still looking at the door.
Hunter sighed, "we wait and trust he'll get the tracker to Tantiss. I'll call Echo and get word to Rex."
I need everyone to stop what they are doing and join me in my latest fixation.
I’m seriously considering a AO3 book club and making a discord server dedicated to reading and sharing fic. I’m already on a few TBB servers (and I know there are many amazing ones out there too!), so maybe one more would be overkill? Idk.
Anyway, @niobiumao3 has crafted something ASTONISHING and yall need to come with me into this CX-2 Tech rabbit hole because my gods it’s incredible.

He leveled the pistol at the individual before him, eyes narrowed behind the dark lenses of his helmet.
"do you really believe you will defeat the Empire?" He asked, voice cold and clinical. "Such delusions will only lead innocent people to suffer. We are doing good work, protecting the galaxy. Why do you fight it?"
