What is cyborg error's relationship with nightmare??

For a long time Nightmare (and by extension the Gang) also believed Error to be fully artificial, but eventually Nightmare realised he was an actual person. I haven’t fully fleshed out how, but it’s probably related to Error’s (very muted) emotions.

Nightmare finds Error incredibly interesting and wants to learn more about him, however due to Error’s constant sedation and completely fucked sense of self he can’t exactly just ask him. So he and his boys have ended up trying to get him out of his situation and teach him how to be a person - they know he wasn’t behind what has been done to him, but they don’t know the culprit is a deity.

This attempt at “reeducation” was initially started purely to sate Nightmare’s need to know absolutely everything, but ended up morphing into genuine care over time. Error’s… somewhat receptive. He mostly still doesn’t get it.

If the balance is balanced would Fate care if Cyborg!Error got yoinked and studied by some peeps?

The balance is constantly fluctuating, so it’s incredibly unlikely it would be stable for long enough for Fate to not care at all. Even then they would rather Error be stored away in the Anti-VOID so he can easily go destroy if it begins to tip. Additionally, if anybody was ever close to capturing Error, Fate would take control to get him out of there.

Fate doesn’t care if people try to figure Error out though, since they aren’t intentionally hiding his identity. If he was somehow captured, they wouldn’t be concerned about his being alive being discovered. They’d be more concerned about his ability to destroy, and would again take control of him to take him back to the Anti-VOID, which in and of itself would make an interesting conflict.

Crazy how there is only one singular Error AU I don’t like to insult and that’s Cyborg. I will wish pain and suffering on the rest of them but Cyborg needs to be treated with great care

I think Fate’s biggest crime in the Cyborg!Error AU is taking away Error’s potential for whimsy. He’s just kinda sad now

Error's doing good enough to prevent Multiversal collapse, which is all Fate needs from him. I suppose you could say they think he's doing well, but they never look at him and think "good job", let alone tell him that.

Error gets breaks in order to repair damage. He destroys by going on longer sprees with periods of sitting in the Anti-VOID between, rather than destroying 24/7, since doing that just isn't sustainable. He is aware of when he's in the Anti-VOID versus not, but he isn't usually any more "awake" than normal. Everything's still foggy.

If he's not fast enough to keep up with the balance, then yes, Fate will shock him. Controlling him fully takes a lot of precision (despite being a deity), so they only do it in urgent situations - for example, if Error were to lose consciousness in battle due to head trauma. Fate can't risk him being captured, so they would take control to finish the Aus destruction and/or bring him back to the Anti-VOID.

Error's movements become more precise, but are also obviously unnatural. Robotic is probably the best way to describe it.

His movements seem more precise because his typical level of functioning (inhibited by anaesthesia) is not 100%. He isn't fully conscious, and therefore can't move as well as he could if he was. He'd honestly be a better fighter if he wasn't sedated, but for Fate, the reduced awareness isn't nearly enough of a threat to outweigh the benefits of having him complacent.

Error is just as aware as ever when being controlled - that is to say, not very. He's still mentally present, just not in charge of his body's movements.

Fate would be immensely disappointed if Error fell behind and was unable to regain pace. That would count as a situation where they would have to take control, and it would be difficult to maintain it flawlessly for a period of time that long. Pain likely wouldn't be a cause of this, though, since the anaesthesia numbs it. Error can still feel some, since he's still awake to an extent, but a large portion of the usual aches aren't an issue. He also has higher pain tolerance, as it typical of FGoDs.

It would be highly unlikely for Fate to replace Error. Error's destruction powers rely on access to AU code. That is something Fate gave him, and not something anybody else would be able to do unless made that way by them. So nobody else with the power for destruction will come along. Error has also been in operation for at least centuries, and has had numerous "updates" since first being made. Fate's put a lot of time into him, and it would take time to do it all over again. So no, he won't be replaced.

As a hypothetical, though, then no, Fate wouldn't take back Error's mechanical parts. Too much work for something discarded.

However, if something were to happen to prevent Fate from topping up his sedatives? Or fixing his mechanical parts? Then yes, Error's on his own (or is he?), and the withdrawal would not be pleasant in any way.

If universes started to fall and it was clear Error wasn't doing it, the Council's first thoughts would probably be that whoever "made" Error had created another weapon. It would take a bit for them to realise it's happening on its own, and even longer for them to connect the dots. The only person other than Error who can see how close Aus are to each other is Ink, so it would rely on him 1. looking at that, and 2. witnessing a collide/seeing how close the universes are.

As for Error turning up not fully repaired, well...

If it was obvious he was bleeding, then a similar realisation to what happens at the end of that fic would occur, because blood makes it obvious Error's alive. Most of his wires are hidden by clothes, so them being broken would be less noticeable, however if it was apparent, and Error (a "robot") was moving around the same, then it would definitely raise suspicions.

Similar to above, the Council realising why Error destroys would rely on Ink realising collisions are causing the spontaneous destructions, and then noticing Error's pattern to targeting AUs (destroying universes close to each other).
