keeper of the keys got to be a bit of a chore to get through. really it was only wurts's writing that held my attention, i especially try to absorb how she goes about with dialogue and "magic" descriptions. still meh about the twist turned major plot point (trilogy was published before it just saying, but think xenogears because i don't want to get into it) but i'll continue with the last book. also corley beat the kielmark two to one for shirtless appearances.

i'm not that far into keeper of the keys but i've become aware that interactions between female characters is sorely lacking. actually, taen is now the only young woman in the cast and considering her mmm time skip (think rydia) i can't help but think how crucial such interactions are to fill that gap and hope it will change. very much a boys club so far, like with nightrunner, but at least the men are written just as nicely and nuanced.
