Cyclone warning to anyone in Perth to Albany
Hey everyone!
From Friday to Saturday (maybe Sunday) there will be a cyclone hitting Perth. We haven’t had one for years (20+) so here’s some tips on what to do.
1. Go out to our backyard (and front!) and grab any rubbish or small/light objects that might fly away in the wind. Either put them inside or throw them away if it’s just rubbish or you don’t use it
2. Tie stuff down! If anything’s too big to move but still has a chance of falling over or causing damage try and tie it down to something. To the floor or a heavier object
3. Make ways for water to flow. Water is lazy, so it’ll go whichever way is easiest. If your gutter goes into dirt or a garden bed make a trench from the gutter away from the house/front or back door. Rather your yard flooding than your house
4. If the wind gets really bad and/or you’re worried that your windows might break, put tape across your windows like this -> ❌. So that if the glass does break it won’t go everywhere and stay in the window
5. Put all your electronics on charge, including phones, IPads, Headphones, battery backups, torches, any source of light.
Please stay safe and don’t go outside during the storm! If you have any trips or outing’s planned I suggest you cancel them for safety. Because driving in heavy rain and strong wind is very much not safe
Also if you live in a place that gets cyclones or tornados/something similar and have any more tips can you please repost this and add them on? Thanks!
