Night Swan + 29 (Batshit - Sofi Tukker)
5:00am on the dot is when Leda rises each morning. It gives her just enough time to get ready before heading to ballet practice.
5:02am is when she hears a knock on the door.
She makes her way down the steps, hearing raindrops hit the glass window, one after another. Leda only knows one other person who would willingly be up at this hour. She sighs, opening the door. Sure enough, a rain-soaked architect stares back at her.
“I’ve had a breakthrough,” he says, marching inside.
“Just invite yourself in, why don’t you?” she asks, closing the door. “What are you doing here?”
Cygnus pulls out a thick book from underneath his coat, flipping through the pages. “I’ve been studying this prophecy like the back of my hand, and I’ve found something fascinating. I know you wake up around five in the morning every day, which is why I’m here- hang on.” He pauses, looking her up and down. “You’ve only been up for a few minutes, correct?”
Leda rubs her eyes with one hand, then pinches the bridge of her nose. “Yes.”
“Hm.” His eyebrows furrow. “You don’t look it. You’re practically radiant.”
Before she can respond, he turns away and walks into the kitchen.
She groans under her breath. This boy was going to be the death of her.
