I'm currently watching the Slimescile dead space video. Good god. If that's how your version of him is, then like... is he okay???? Is he so desensitized from that traumatic episode that everything is really not that bad to him??? I feel like there are some awful implications with how reactive he'd be after all that.

Pretty much yeah! He's so desensitized by what happened in Dead Space he doesn't really all that happened is very terrible, treating it as a weird adventure he went through

He's used to stuff happening in space (he's an astronaut in this au) that he doesn't see it as it being that bit of a deal, but as he continues to gain more of his memories back (lost his memories for a long while) he starts to slowly kinda lose it

Everybody on the ship he was in died, he couldn't save them and the aliens could still be out there hurting people. With that in mind he starts to kinda crash out and going a bit crazy

But he does atleast have Simon, Grace, and Rocky, the ones that knows what loss is like so they try to help him (does take a while since Charlie just keeps trying to brush it off and sayings its fine so it takes a while for him to actually try and get some help by them)

(Also, I like to think Charlie in Dead Space before he crash landed on Erid was just trying to humor himself during it cuz that always sorta helped him in the past during any stressful situations so its kinda the norm for him at this point)
