we’re in the band

Joly always had jitters before it was time to play - he blamed it on the fact he always had jitters though. He had a very strict routine of how to handle it though. No caffeine before a show, no negativity either. Which is why he was hanging out with Grantaire, determined to keep his friend happy too - which was often an uphill climb. He was determined though, and Joly was good at being stubbornly kind.
“I think we should go get some candy before the show. We can each have one piece of taffy, and then eat the whole bag afterwards. What do you think?” No one could say no to taffy, he was certain. Maybe someone could say no, but very few could say no to Joly. He was just too nice, or so he’d been told. “C’mon, the show doesn’t start for four hours.” Maybe he was telling that to R, maybe to his nerves. He never knew.
