Pleeeeeease tell me about the Cyrano AU for the WIP game 👀👀

Of course of course! <3 And @puuvillaa asked about this one as well!

Okay, this all came to me like three days ago, so I don't have much to share yet. We're very much in the dreamy planning stage! Which I love, but it means I don't have snippets to share :( I'll spill the thoughts anyway!

On Monday I decided to watch one of my favorite movies because I needed a break from ✨everything✨ as well as needed to get my mind out of Smutville and back into Yearning, and honestly, what is Cyrano if not the most intense yearning squished into 2 hours?

Remus is "disfigured" by scars from his past, outcast from society and turns to the military as a means to live. Here, he only gains more scars from battle, but also becomes one of the most revered and intimidating soldiers in their ranks. He's cutting with both words and sword alike. He's turned into the town vigilante of sorts, fiercely fighting for those who are wronged, but beneath the hardened exterior, truly soft at heart. Especially when it comes to Sirius.

Sirius Black, the nobleman heir who is hanging on to his status by a thread. Public scandal made it so his parents had no choice but to give in to his wishes of marrying a man. But their ideas for his prospects are far from matching his own, and he'll be stuck in his fate unless he's able to marry outside of it. His only reprieve from the madness is his childhood best friend, Remus, who is always there for him to turn to. He's surely sick of hearing Sirius blather on about how he doesn't want a marriage of advantage, of hate, made from a business deal. He wants to cast his parent's deadlines and threats aside to wait for the one thing he's always wanted, love.

Enter stage left, is... someone. LOL. I can picture wolfstar so so clearly in these roles, but Christian hasn't quite gotten there yet. Like do I play up a Prongsfoot part?? Idk if I can make James that much of a himbo, I can't get past the idea that he would immediately clock them and sort their shit. Do I bring in someone from the outside, like a Caradoc or Benjy? Do I dare throw in an OC? I just don't know.

All I do know is that I have a perfect picture in my mind of Remus spilling his innermost desires to Sirius, hidden away behind these letters on behalf of someone else. Because Sirius could never want him, would never. He'd never be allowed, anyway, what does Remus have to offer him? But oh, how he wants.

The Half of It! I would die to see it Supercorpified. It is also worlds healthier than whatever CW has going in for them (at least at the time I couldn’t watch any more)

I’m a little hesitant about doing The Half of It, because it’s a story that’s as much about being POC in Canada as it’s about being LGBTQ, and doing a supercorp au feels like whitewashing it, which I don’t wanna do.

BUT The Half of It is loosely inspired by Cyrano de Bergerac, a property I have absolutely no qualms about ripping off. 

Lena would be our cyrano, an introverted brainiac pining over the popular, seemingly perfect Kara. Lena’s best friend Winn is cute, but cripplingly horrible at talking to girls. So he asks for Lena’s help in wooing our fair Kara. Lena reluctantly agrees, sacrificing her own happiness for the sake of her friend. 

Lena’s words are magical when they pour from Winn’s theatrical lips-- he’s not a drama nerd for nothing, y’all. Kara falls for Winn, but when she agrees to a date, another issue comes up: Winn can’t mimic Lena’s eloquence on his own. 

In fact, he’s downright dumbstruck when it comes to holding a conversation with Kara. When it looks like Kara is starting to lose interest, Winn begs Lena for more help. And so Lena agrees to embroil herself in the affair. She coaches Winn through his dates, gives him ideas of things to do and things to say, and it’s enough for Kara to stayed hooked. 

But the ordeal takes it’s toll on Winn and Lena’s friendship. Lena grows to resent Winn’s growing closeness with Kara, and Winn starts to suspect that Kara isn’t falling for him, but for Lena’s words. Which is absolutely ridiculous, because “if Kara ever found out a girl was the one writing them-- oh, oh Lena, I didn’t realize, I--”

“Forget it,” Lena scowls, gathering her bag and her books. “If you don’t want my help anymore, fine. Have fun without me.”

They don’t speak for weeks, and while Kara doesn’t drop Winn, without Lena’s prose they settle into a new groove as just friends. Kara isn’t one to lead a boy on, so she’s honest about her feelings-- she doesn’t love him, but she does want to be his friend, if he’s okay with that. Winn decides he’d rather be friends than nothing at all, so they continue to hang out. 

Over the months that follow, Lena watches from afar as Lena and Winn seem to grow closer and closer. Her bitterness grows in proportion, until she can barely stand it. Except one day, Kara appears on Lena’s front porch. 

“Winn told me about what you did for him,” Kara says when Lena opens the door a freezes, dumbfounded. 

“He did,” Lena echoes.

Kara nods. “It’s pretty twisted, what you two did.”

Guilt overwhelms Lena in an instant. “I’m sorry. I just-- sorry.”

“Apology accepted.” Kara gazes at her, waiting for Lena to say something more, but when she doesn’t, Kara fills the silence herself. “Now that I know your secret, can I tell you one of mine?”

Lena nods.

“When I started receiving those letters, I tried to imagine who might be behind them. When it turned out to be Winn, I was surprised.”

“Y-you were?”

Kara’s features soften into a warm smile. “But I’m not surprised it was you.”

Fitz stood at the bottom of the steps leading up to the campus art center and gave his arms a little shake to try to clear all the emotions that had centered in the pit of his stomach. He couldn’t shake the feel that this was a terrible idea that would only lead to trouble, but he knew he was going up there. After all, he’d put on his nice trainers and a button down for this.

Taking a deep breath, he steeled himself and climbed the steps. The entire time he scanned the crowd around him in the hope of catching sight of Jemma. She’d told him she’d be waiting near the door but he didn’t see her…

“Fitz! Over here!”

His eyes jerked in the direction of the voice and he froze in his tracks.

A sundress. She’d worn a red sundress with a cardigan over it to go with the brightest smile he’d ever seen, and he nearly swallowed his tongue. He was in so much trouble. Still, he managed to smile and wave at her as he headed over.

Fitz winced and took another pull off his beer as Will’s tinny voice blared from his mobile speakers. He could hardly hear him over the telly playing in the sitting room, but it didn’t much matter. The words had been seared into his brain. He wasn’t certain which was worse, the fact that he’d been accused of “stealing” a woman (a ridiculous concept if he’d ever heard one) or that Jemma thought he might have done this with multiple women. That was a lie. He knew Jemma thinking he might actually be using the same supposed scam on multiple women was much, much worse.

Happy Mother's Day (and baby shower!) Libby! I hope you enjoy this bit of fluff as you get ready for lucky #3!

Fitz has been in love with Jemma from a distance for ages. He has a million things he wants to tell her - lovely, poetic, romantic things - but every time he opens his mouth around her the words leave him. So instead he finds another outlet for his energies - writing love notes for men online. It started innocently enough when his friend Hunter needed to impress a girl and Fitz’ messages had done just the trick, but word quietly got out and before long Fitz had a nice little side hustle going helping hapless men woo their online paramours. It all seems so easy, until one day he encounters the one situation he never thought he would: being asked to seduce Jemma Simmons herself.

Now he finally has the opportunity to tell Jemma exactly how he feels but has to watch as she falls for some other man. Another man who’s using his words to win her over. Will he be able to continue to hold his tongue, or will he finally get the nerve to come clean with Jemma for real?

“What the hell is wrong with you?” he asked, expression incredulous.

Fitz pulled a similar face and groaned. He’d been avoiding having this conversation as best he could, but the day of reckoning had finally come.

“What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with y’?” he shot back. “Runnin’ around and tellin’ everyone that I’m the one that got Bobbi t’ date y’. I didn’t get her t’ do anythin’, I just made y’ look like less o’ an arsehole, although I have t’ say I am deeply regrettin’ that now.”

Fitz grabbed the small box of raw sugar packets he’d gone back there to fetch and moved to push past Hunter back into the store.

“You still don’t see it, mate, do you?” his friend asked, following him around the counter and over to where they displayed their creamers and sugars for patrons. “All of those guys coming in just want the same advice you gave me! And I have it on good authority that they’d pay you for it.”

Fitz paused what he was doing to give his friend a pointed look.

“Good authority meanin’ y’ told them I’d do it for a small fee.”

I'm traoped in a car with coworkers-- enjoy this crappy thought dump of a High School AU:

HS au: Alex sees Lena from afar, has her gay awakening. Panics, refuses to make contact. Kara steps in, writes a beautiful poem, and slips it in Lena's locker after signing it in Alex's name.The next morning, Lena approaches Alex to say thank you, and explains how much she enjoyed the poem. Alex manages to stammer through a response, but as soon as Lena moves on (with a parting invitation for coffee or something if Alex wants), she turns to Kara."What did you do??"And so begins an exchange of notes and poems. In person, Alex sticks to talking points Kara gives her, as her sister seems to know all of Lena's interests and aspirations. Lena gives Alex poetry books-- which Kara picks up and reads when Alex inevitably tosses it aside.Meanwhile, a new girl shows up-- Sam. She and Alex instantly click, which over time leads to a surprise kiss. Immediately, Alex knows that her feelings for Sam are actual feelings whereas her feelings for Lena were just a superficial crush.Alex immediately tells Kara, and then tells Kara to fix it. She started this-- she can fix it. So Kara meets with Lena, and confides that Alex never wrote those notes.... she did."Please don't be mad at Alex," Kara continues swiftly. Desperately, voice shaking. "She genuinely wanted to get to know you, but didn't know how to approach you, so I-- she didn't even know I put that first note in your locker until you came and talked to us...""I know," Lena admits with a soft sigh. "Well, I knew Alex didn't write them. Makes sense it was you."Kara gapes. "How??""Alex never read the poetry books I gave her. The way the poems I read were structured, I figured they came from someone who loves poetry as much as I do."When Kara hears Lena remark that she should have known better, she immediately blurts that she meant every word she wrote to Lena. Every verse, every stanza. All of it.That she devoured the books Lena loaned Alex. That during the lunches Lena sat with them at the cafeteria Kara had fallen deeper and deeper in love and she really hopes Lena can forgive them enough to stay friends.Lena's smile turns sly in a way that makes Kara's heart tap an excited tattoo against her ribs."Only friends?"
