Russian Ferdy the Ant illustrations

Firebug's children

Ferdy the ant, preparing himself to skiing.

After getting kidnapped by a child, he immediately finds a way to escape, but oh dear it's raining!

Ferdy disturbed the snail (and it's a "she" in Russian... (but it doesn't even matter, since snails are hermaphrodites))

Ferdy found a place to wait til the rain stops.

Ferdy's house (and I'm surprised they didn't change his name and kept the same pronunciation like in original Ферда)

Miss Ladybug! (in Russian they kept the original name Берушка (Beruška), because a ladybug in this language is literally called "God's cow", and they definitely wouldn't like calling her a cow XD)

Ferdy helped Cricket repair his radio. (I personally love the colors in this.)

Bug Butterfingers introduction. As a child he grew up watching movies.

Butterfingers' failed attempt to catch a bush cricket. (this version of Butterfingers is cute ngl)

Butterfingers accidentally catches a dragonfly. (I wanna shake hands with the person that did coloring)

Butterfingers returned. (Forgot to mention that his Russian name is "Хвостунишка" which literally means "Show off", it's like if in Czech his name was "Chlubík" XD)

Ferdy did everything himself (as usual) and of course, Butterfingers wanted to show off and suffers (as usual).

They're making a carriage.

Zdravím všechny argenitáře (pokud si mohu dovolit pojmenovat tento fandom). Pokud máte pocit, že na internetu neexistuje dostatek fan contentu o Myceliu, jako já, nezoufejte, protože jsem se rozhodl vzít věci do vlastních rukou! Tento český sci-fi skvost se musí šířit dál!

Prostě blog, kam postuju Mycelium content a doufám, že si ho někdo všimne, protože si o tý sérii nemám s kým povídat.

Neoznačuju spoilery, moc práce, to přežijete. Prostě kdo nečet celý, nekoukat!

Já sám dočítám osmičku, mám strach.

CZECH BOOKS I THINK YOU SHOULD READ (some classics some less clasic, sadly i am not sure if they all were translated to english i apologize)

The Cremator - Ladislav Fuks

the movie from 1968 is phenomenal, but the book I ENJOY

so interesting and scary, disturbing imaginery and descriptions

set in the 1930s

tells the story of a man who starts as a bit of an odd but well meaning cremator, loves his wife and children, turns into a murderer

Closely watched trains - Bohumil Hrabal

i read it really quickly, in my opinion a great balance of story, description, emotion

the movie from 1966 is ALSO good

set during the German ocupation of Czechoslovakia

tells a coming of age story of a young man who works at a train station, he tried to commit suicide because of sexual mishaps

a closely watched train is a train that carries weapons for soldiers

The Wonderful Years That Sucked - Michal Viewegh

do you want to have a look on czech humor? Read this

TO ME so funny but also again, shows history, satirical and ironic look on a bad time

semi-autobiographical, portrays Czechoslovakia between the Prague Spring in 1968 to the fall of communism in 1989

The movie is awesome, all of them star famous czech actors

Fun fact Michal Viewegh is the most published czech author

Might add onto this one day, I personally don't like all czech literature, but these are just great books.

What is your favourite book in your first language? I love to explore and learn about different places and cultures through literature.

I have not read many Czech books. I mostly remember really liking two book. Both are adventure sort of book for a bit older kids: Stínadla se bouří (The Shades are Revolting) by Jaroslav Foglar and Lovci mamutů (The Mamoth Hunters) by Eduard Štorch.
