Watching fairytales on Czech TV website with ENG subtitles

Hello @ki-no-horizonte ! I am so sorry, I completely forgot to respond to your comment here and to try out your recommendation!

And YES, your way actually works with Czech TV website, thank you so much for discovering it!

Tutorial for anyone who wants to try it out:

1) Open the www.czech-tv.cz website in Microsoft Edge (you can try the links for specific fairytales at the bottom of this post). There is a small “translation” icon in the top right corner of the browser. Click on it and select “translate to English” to view titles and menus in English:

(if the icon doesn’t appear automatically, right-click anywhere on the page and the option to translate should pop up)

2) Select the video you want to watch, click on play, select “settings” and then select subtitles (”titulky”), as per screenshot below:

3) Right-click on the video player screen and select “translate into English”:

4) The subtitles are then automatically translated into English.

As with Chrome and Google translator, it’s not 100% smooth, sometimes you still see the original subtitles flash before the English version appears.

Also, the translations are sometimes too literal, I think that Google translator in Chrome might have better translations, but it’s watchable.

You can try e.g. following titles:

Snow Dragon (2013)

The Proud Princess (1952)

Beauty and the Beast (1971)

The Tinderbox (2004)
