I’ve only got two works in progress lmao so  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and I have no idea when they’ll be finished. Sorry my dudes. Also there aren’t any titles yet because, well, I don’t know what to call them (yet).

“What’s your name?”

A strange question. People rarely need to know your name.

You pause in counting the bills, not bothering to look up. “Dong Silin.”

A sharp intake of breath causes you to look up, finally. “What?” you ask irritably, forgetting to hide the bite in your tone. It’s early and you want to sleep.

“U-um, nothing. I’m Moon Taeil.”

You drop a bill.

“A-are you sure?” you whisper, your voice small. He nods. “As sure as I’ll ever be.” His eyes are hopeful.

You pick up the bill, hands trembling.

This was not what you wanted.

“Are you part of a gang?” you ask, your voice suddenly sharp. The bite in your voice surprises him.

He chews his lip.

“Are you part of a gang?” Your voice is more insistent this time, your mind racing with the possibility that he is.

He nods almost imperceptibly.

Summary: You need money. So when a lucrative offer comes from the heir of one of the most powerful businesses in Asia (and maybe the world), who are you to refuse?

“I’ll walk you to the bus stop,” he says, heading toward the entrance. “Wait what-- you don’t need to--” “Yeah, but it’s dangerous at night,” he says, still walking. You have to run to catch up with his long strides.

“Okay, but don’t you have like, other places to be? Like I’m just a normal uni student. You’re the heir to some wildly successful business that I have little knowledge about. Also, the bus stop is literally like one street away,” you ramble as you walk beside him.

“I don’t have anywhere else to be, Huafei. I’m not going to be doing anything at-” he checks his phone-- “midnight.”

“Well, you could be going home to sleep right now instead of taking me to the bus stop,” you challenge. “I could say the same for you. Why’d you even take up the job anyway?”

“I need money, dude. My parents aren’t that rich and I only have a partial scholarship.” Your shoulders sag as you think of your parents still back in China. Hopefully they’re still doing okay.

Sicheng giggles a bit. “That’s the first time in a long time that someone’s called me dude. Anyway, from your name, are you Chinese too?” he asks. “Yep.” “Cool.”

You two walk in silence for a bit more. “Here’s the stop. You could probably go now, Sicheng,” you say, looking up and down the street for the bus. “I can wait. Like I said, I’ve got nothing better to do.” He sticks his hands in his pockets. “Except sleep,” you quip.

Sicheng stays quiet for a couple minutes, so you don’t say anything. Instead, you just train your eyes on the street in front of you, waiting for the telltale lights of the bus to appear.

“It’s probably not my place to offer this,” he suddenly speaks, making you jump a little, “but you played really well tonight, and my parents are planning on staying in Korea for about a year. Which means a lot more parties and events like that.” You nod, wondering what he was going to offer.

“I could ask them if they’d like, exclusively hire you for each event they did here? I’m pretty sure they’d say yes.”

To say you are surprised is an understatement.

“Wait, what? Really?” you ask, still not quite grasping the situation. Sicheng nodded. “Oh my god, that’d be great. Yes, if they agree, I’d love to do it,” you say excitedly, your words blending together in happiness.

“Awesome. Could we like exchange numbers so I could text you if they say yes?” You nod, hastily taking out your phone just as the lights of the bus appear at the far end of the street. The two of you punch your numbers into the other’s phone just as the bus pulls up.

“See ya, Huafei,” Sicheng says, waving. You stop boarding the bus. “Bye, Sicheng.” You wave back.

It really isn’t a wonder that you can’t stop thinking about the boy with the elven features that night.

The dining room fell into deafening silence as both males stared at one another, though Joey was most out of his comfort zone because he had reacted via impulse due to how often the woman called him that in the bedroom.

Harvey looked as though several veins in his face were a few seconds away from bursting, as he cleared his throat and snatched up the salt shaker painfully quickly so the other male had to retract his outstretched hand.

The woman gulped down air and attempted to dampen at least some of the inside of her mouth, because in all of a few moments, her breath had been knocked from her lungs and all saliva had clear gone from her mouth. Her eyes were fixed on her plate, but as her father cleared his throat a second time to garner her attention, there was a question resting there she hoped he wouldn’t ask.

’ I . . ’ she began, only to have Joey pipe up for her and say something or other about not hearing her correctly and thinking she had said his name instead.

It made the situation all the more awkward because even on the worst of days, Harvey was nowhere near quite as docile as that cover up suggested.
