What a great release of unadulterated techno we have here. D-knoxresponsible for the inception and Dan Curtin back once again on remix duties, as you would expect there is nothing but the highest calibre funk for your enjoyment. The title track is just layer upon layer of exquisite sound, plenty of reverb on the beats and this subtle, looping set of chords that gnaw away at your brain the best way possible. Coupled with a more abrasive stab this is techno music that just ebbs and flows. Dance floor fire indeed and I cannot wait to listen to the rest of this EP. ‘Speak so they listen’ opens with sort of robotic-ally acidic bass line, more heavy beats and once more the funk is leading the way. This is excellent, the bass line shimmering itself in line with some deeply lush chords and that bass line mutates further into the tune for another piece of dance floor decimating techno. Finally we have the Dan Curtin mix of ‘Out there’ and as you would expect and no doubt agree this is also wicked. Taking the whole feel of the tune and making it even more subtle. The other two tunes are pretty awesome but this has an anthemic feel to it, proper Detroit manoeuvres in that really futuristic sound than Curtin always has. This is an excellent release of futuristic, future classics. (You List London)
