it was drew's lucky day, he'd swear it up and down. after hell on the ranch, sawyer had invited him out to the bar, no other wranglers to harass him as they nearly all did when the whole bunkhouse went out. no nellie to sneak into the seats next to women he had been flirting with to tell them that he was a no good cowboy, that they'd be better off riding a different cowboy. drew admitted that being one of the new guys wasn't easy, but sawyer had invited him out and they'd had a good drink or two before sawyer found some pretty boy they could both tell was from the city to chase after.

drew didn't wait long at the now empty table, pushing himself out of the little booth and saddling up to the bar, a grin across his slightly chapped lips. he didn't think it would be easy, trying to become a cowboy, living on the ranch, but his other options were shit. that was something he and sosh had in common at least. they were protected by the hancock name, but that didn't mean they were cowboy material in the slightest.

"whiskey rocks, please." he leaned in to cut through the laughter and live music the bar seemed to be featuring, some country band, he really couldn't say who they were or even if they were really that good. he handed over some bills, a bigger tip that he would have before he had a stable job that paid pretty decently. the drink was cold in his hand, but not enough to mix condensation with the dirt that never really seemed to wash off since he'd started living at golden.

drew looked back at the table of wranglers, sawyer specifically was clapping way too loud to make this a normal interaction, but at least he wasn't dunking on the man like he usually was. "please, good, ignore them. they mean well, but you can't take them anywhere." drew gave her a look, embarrassment written across his face. this was why he never shot his shot at the bar.

beauregard linklater: growing up on the ranch down from golden never compared to actually being at golden, bo knew that from the first time his father dragged him to meet leon hancock. as soon as tyler let him, bo left his family home and made a new one at the bunkhouse. it was hardly a surprise when his younger brother sawyer followed in his footsteps. sawyer linklater: he never really had anything going for him, decades of underachievers in his family, sawyer only ever wanted to be happy. and he felt happiest near his brother and at the golden ranch. when he dropped out of high school, no one really fought him, and he was working at golden for almost a week before javier even said anything. drew muller: not a wrangler, not yet a cowboy, drew is the first wrangler since javier to join the golden family by way of escaping a life of crime. drew was rescued by tyler hancock, given two options and finally deciding to try to unfuck his life from the comforts of the bunkhouse. he's a terrible wrangler, no where near being a cowboy but he's dedicated to making up for the mistakes he's made before golden. javier palma: caught stealing weed from the grow lots, javier moved to golden when he was nineteen years old, indentured to leon hancock for five years to make up for what he pulled and in an effort to keep him quiet about the other side to the family business. now he works as the foreman at golden, the right hand man and near rightful heir to the ranch in the eyes of tyler.
