It wasn't Cassandra's intentions to stir up the past between them, but she hadn't been able to help herself when she spotted them. Just one look. One conversation. That's what she told herself as she followed them until she spotted a chance for them to be alone together. But the look on their face had her faltering slightly - clearly Cass hadn't thought through what she was doing. "I just... I just wanted to see how you were doing. I wanted, I guess, to see you and know whether or not you're happy."

Willow's attention snapped back towards them, color rising over her cheeks in embarrassment. Crap. "Sorry... I swear I was listening... I'm just, uh, a little distracted this morning..." It didn't help that her distraction happened to be someone she worked alongside. She just hoped they hadn't noticed the ways her eyes would follow whenever the other happened to walk by where they were. "I'll, um, be better about paying attention, I promise."

Nothing about her life seemed fair. Priscilla couldn't comprehend how unraveling the crime of the century would end with her in witness protection until the case went to trial. She couldn't understand why she hadn't been given a choice in the matter when she had plenty of resources at hand to be safe in the comforts of her own home. It'd only been a few days, but she was already antsy. She sighed for the millionth time that morning, glaring into her coffee mug. Being paired up with someone else wasn't making it any easier - she liked her own space. And while they weren't the worst "roommate" in the world, it still took getting used to having someone else wandering around in her space. "There's coffee on the pot," she mumbled as she spotted them in the corner of her eye. "How'd you sleep?"
