Original - my pattern

I had the unedited pattern sitting in stitch fiddle for forever but I’m glad I finally finished this!!! I took some more liberties than usual with recoloring spaces (hsy on the right’s hair) but I think it looks good.

Not all wip pics are included but I got significantly better at taking them every day! Fun fact: the final day I was working on it, I did rows 128-138 in the afternoon with the goal of hitting 150 in the evening. I then finished it. Such is the power of putting on a good movie and zoning the fuck out during the boring top rows.

The back! Preblocked so it’s wonky but I did a decent job with not going overboard on bobbins… kinda… weaving in ends is a problem for later me

I could not find any applicable or decent tutorials on framing crochet tapestry soooooo I had to figure it out as I went. If I do this again I’ll probably make a full guide/tutorial on it but for now I just have some wip pics.

Essentially I staple gunned the projects to some plywood and built the frames around it. The most annoying part was assembling the frames but I think that’s just because it’s frames.

I kept these rolled up on my shelf so I forgot how big they actually are,,,

For this project, I actually collaborated with d0gtoothjones to edit the pattern. When I input any given image into the program I use (stitch fiddle), it can take me anywhere between 30 mins and 6 hours to edit the pattern.

I never really know when inspiration is going to strike me but in this case the second d0gtoothjones sent me this one I was hopping on stitch fiddle to see what I could do.

This is what the pattern looked like fresh out of stitch fiddle’s generation (to be clear: stitch fiddle does not use ai). I was inspired to add a second shade of blue because I had a lot of navy blue yarn.

I’m going to rb this with a dump of update photos so here’s some blocking pics instead!

The last side is always the worst and it took much finagling to get it where I wanted

It’s reversible! Ends aren’t woven in but the back is essentially the same as the front.

Unfortunately no waterboarding pics :( due to my current circumstances I have a different set up from usual (also this is giant and would barely fit in a sink if I tried).
