I read something about the Sox aiming for James Shields if they cant get Lester back. Have you seen anything about that? I wouldn't mind Shields if that's the case
I have heard speculation about this, but nothing solid. Cherington did say they have a lot of offers out and have discussed dozens of possibilities, so I’m sure he is on their radar. I like Shields, but he wouldn’t be my first choice. I see him as a number two. They should pursue a true ace in the trade market. If the price is too high, they could wait until next year when there will be more big arms on the market.
