it’s ironic. udyati is good with words. has a way with them. but now, faced with del, she’s silent. there is too much that she wants to say, and she doesn’t even know where to begin. perhaps she doesn’t need to. del sees the look on udyati’s face. del knows of the damage wrought.

and this is where it got them: udyati holding del at knifepoint.

del smirks and where it once would have been so easily for del to rile udyati up and get her going, right now, it only serves as a reminder that there is something lost between them now. or, no, something that never existed in the first place cannot be lost, can it?

of course, though, of course it would be del - stepping forward even though udyati is the one with the knife. of course, of course it would be del, surging forward for one last kiss.
