I am once again thinking about how fun it would be for Stroud to have to deal with Antoine for an extended amount of time because the circumstances of Antoine's Joining and his early Warden career is exactly what Stroud was talking about when he's asked to take in the Hawke sibling. Being a Grey Warden is not a cure, but some do choose it on their deathbeds, and both Stroud and Antoine know that, divergent as their philosophies are about it.
And, yes, all of the possible Warden contacts in Inquisition have the same beat of opposed Clarel's plan at Adamant and had to go into hiding over it, not just Stroud, but there's something about how Stroud is Orlesian too. A human chevalier who protested Adamant and an elven servant who took the Joining post-Adamant, opposite ends of the Orlesian social hierarchy that neither is bound to anymore, on opposite sides in time of an event that massively defines the recent history of the Orlesian branch of Wardens.
It's fun to imagine what sort of relationship, of any tenor, that might come up there if they had to know each other for a time.
