Chapter 9 - It could have been you.
Just watched Daam and it was SO GOOD
HAI NA?! It’s a fucking BRILLIANT drama. Instead of other mainstream dramas, Daam is the one drama that should be on top of the Pakistani dramas recommendation lists. They just dont make it like these anymore.
So here's taking a look at Pakistani iconic Sanam Baloch characters that prove that there is no one like her:
Doraha 2008 as “ shehla “
Dastaan 2010 as “ Bano “
Daam 2010 as “ Zara “
Akbari Asghari 2010 as “ Akbari “ (Becky)
Kuch Pyar Ka Pagalpan 2011 “ Kiran “
Roshan Sitara 2012 as Roshan Ara / Sitara
Band Khirkiyon kay peechay 2006 as “ shanzay “
Hey came by to ask if you’ve watched daam? I was looking for something to watch and came across this show and there’s some good reviews for it too so thought I’d ask for your take on it? A lot of websites have it in their top 5/10. Also unrelated to Daam but related to lists do you in retrospect think that Humsafar is overhyped?
Oh, it’s in my top 10 list for Pakistani dramas as well :D I love that show. It’s brilliant and easily a great example of what a modern Pakistani drama is all about. It had great direction, great writing, stellar acting, a good story, well written characters, situations that one could relate to; Daam just reflects all of the good qualities of a Pakistani drama. I remember it was the first drama that I saw be animatedly discussed among my classmates. It had aired at a time when Indian youth dramas were all the rage and I was primarily surrounded by them. Daam pulled me out of that space and made me take the Pakistani television scene seriously.
I feel like I have talked about this before. I always found Humsafar overrated. But hey..what does it matter what I say? It clearly had something which has kept it relevant all these years. Guess that’s what you call luck.
