Here’s something I threw together for a role swap AU where Henrik is swapped with Jameson Jackson. It could be read as if it’s not connected to the AU, but I needed to write angst and vent in a way. Also sorry about any formatting issues. I’m doing this on mobile.
The song is “Louder than Thunder” by The Devil Wears Prada.

Henrik was so fucking angry and frustrated. He couldn’t have a fucking break.
What would it take for things to be quiet? | Quiet, like the snow
Everyone needed help. Medical help and mental help. It was draining. Plus with the strain of his divorce from his wife who left him for the tennis instructor, Richard.
I know this isn't much but | I know I could I could be better
He wished that things were different. That he could temporarily be in someone else’s shoes and just not be a doctor anymore. Or even himself.
I don't think I deserve it | selflessness find your way into my heart
But he knew that was impossible. Unless some supernatural event just happened to take place, everything would be the same.
All stars could be brighter | All hearts could be warmer
He was hunched over his desk, that had papers thrown haphazardly across it. Some medical reports, patient records, custody papers, and divorce documents.
What would it take for things to be quiet? | Quiet, like the snow
He was planning on going over to her apartment and give her all the papers, as she hadn’t lived in the house for a good three months, leaving their children with him. He loved his kids, don’t get him wrong.
That we meant to be empty-handed
But.
I know I could I could be better
Everything is too much.
I don't think I deserve it | selflessness find your way into my heart
His wife’s affair.
All stars could be brighter
The divorce.
All hearts could be warmer
His work piling up and never catching a break.
What would it take for things to be quiet?
The countless sleepless nights.
Find your way into my heart
He’s just done. Done with all the lies and deceit.
What would it take for things to be quiet?
Maybe. If he took a vacation, from everything, it would be better.
Find your way into my heart
No. People are counting on him. His kids are counting on him.
Me posting more fanfics about crack ships? More common than you think!
This one is rushed and I’m sorry about that!!!

I shouldn’t be in love with you.” Illinois says softly to the sleeping man laying on his chest. Jim lets out soft snores as Illinois speaks. Illinois sighs softly as he gently runs his fingers through Jim’s soft hair, trying not to wake the other up.
“I really shouldn’t,” he laughs bitterly. “I seem to be cursed. All my partners die and leave me.” Illinois tears up a bit, before wiping them away with the hand that was wrapped around Jim’s lower back.
“But you insisted to come with me on one of my adventures and making a documentary about it.” He chuckles a bit, thinking how the Jim Twins got Harrison Ford to play him in a recreation of his adventures, thus making the Indiana Jones series.
“The artifact wasn’t the only thing stolen that day…” He smiles at Jim before kissing the top of his head. “My heart.” Jim stirs a bit and yawns. He looks up at Illinois with tired eyes.
“Wha…? Are you still awake?” Jim asked, his voice rough from not talking for a while. Illinois blushes a bit at the sound of his voice.
“Sorry, did I wake you?” He asks the other male while he plays with Jim’s hair. Jim leans into Illinois’s touch and hums.
“Not really… What were you talking about?” Jim asks with his eyes closed and a smile spread across his face.
“Just thinking about how much I love you, Honey~” Illinois says as he tilts Jim’s face up and kisses him gently. Jim smiles into the kiss and wraps his arms around Illinois’s neck. Illinois’s arms migrate from Jim’s face to his waist. He rubs small circles on Jim’s hips. Jim smiles into the kiss and then breaks away to pepper Illinois’s face with kisses. Illinois chuckles and buries his face into Jim’s neck, kissing it softly.
“I love you too, Bee!” Jim says sweetly. He giggles as Illinois kisses his neck. Illinois just smiles and kisses Jim’s lips.
“It’s late, you should go back to sleep.” He reasons with the reporter. Jim yawns and cuddles back into Illinois’s chest.
“M’kay, Handsome Jim…” He trails off as he falls asleep. Illinois smiles and follows Jim into dream land.
This isn’t Dr. Dames, but it’s something cute as well!!
This was actually a request from a discord server as well as a prompt!

“Dad.” Poke.
“Dad.” Poke.
“Dad.” Poke.
“Dad.” Poke.
“Dad.” Poke.
“Dad.” Poke.
“Dad.” Poke.
“Yahoo, can you please stop.” Mark sighs. He was sitting at his desk in the Manor, trying to get some work done. Yahoo had decided to poke her dad since Yancy was picking up more apple juice at the supermarket.
“I’m not going to stop poking you until you give me some attention.” She pouts as she pokes him even more. Mark sighs and turns to Yahoo.
“You want attention? Well…” He smirks and pulls her into his lap. He tickles her.
“dA D!!! AHAHAHAH––” Yahoo bursts into a giggling and laughing mess as one of her fathers tickle her. Mark laughs with her as he tickles her even more.
The front door of the Manor opens and Yancy walks in. He hears laughter ringing through the halls, coming from Mark’s office. He grins as he puts the groceries on the counter in Chef’s kitchen. He quietly heads upstairs and leans on the door, looking and smiling at the two. Mark has a shit eating grin etched into his face as he keeps tickling Yahoo. Yahoo, at this point, tears streaming down her face from laughing so much.
“fA—HAHA—THER!!!” She yells to Yancy. Mark notices Yancy standing in the doorway and grins even more at him. Yahoo noticing that her dad had stopped tickling her, scrambled out of his lap.
“Hello, Prison Rat.” Mark greets Yancy. Yancy chuckles and makes his way over to the actor, kissing him softly when he makes it over to him.
“Hello there, my love~” Yancy smiles lovingly at Mark. Yahoo smiles brightly at her fathers.
It was early in the morning when Edward had to leave for work. He rubs the sleep out of his eyes. He felt so tired, but the show must go on. He climbs out of bed slowly and sits on the edge of his bed to stretch. His shoulder pops and he stands up. He changed into a blue v neck cardigan, khakis, and some black dress shoes. He then grabs his keys and the paperwork that he needs for work. He quickly leaves a note for anyone who would be looking for him, saying that he had left for work.
He walks out the door and locks it once he's outside. The keys jingle as he makes sure that the front door is locked. Edward goes to his car and starts it up. It was a nice car, a silver outside with a black leather interior and with the latest technology installed. Edward buckles and starts to drive to his practice.
It was a quiet ride to his practice. Soft music was playing on the radio.
Skin
Heat
Hair in your mouth
Feet touching feet
Edward stops at a stoplight. He takes a deep breath and reminisces on the past. All the sleepless nights.
Oh you
And I
Safe from the world
Though the world will try
Those happy, sleepless nights. Filled with laughter and soft words. Edward smiles at the memories.
Oh, I'm afraid of the things in my brain
But we can stay here
And laugh away the fear
He remembers the nightmares, being woken up, and comforted. The small jokes being told to help calm him down. The fact that they stayed with him as he sobbed into their shoulder. They didn’t leave. Not like her.
Numb
Fine
He was jolted out of his thoughts as someone honked their horn, signaling that the light had turned green. He started to drive again into the town. He gets to his practice and parks.
You create a rarity of my genuine smiles
Edward smiles softly and sadly as he goes back into his memories. He remembers one particularly bad nightmare. He woke up crying out their name, tears streaming down his face in steady rivers. They held him and rocked him gently, whispering soft and comforting words in his ear as his tears soaked their shirt. He cringed on to them like they were his lifeline. They said softly to him:
“So breathe. Breathe with me.”
He remembers hiccuping and trying to catch his breath. He replied to them, shakily:
“Can you drink all my thoughts? Cause I can't stand them.”
They were in that position for a while. Neither of them moving much, other than the shuttering coming from Edward from the intensity of his sobbing.
Ooh, oh
O-oh, oh, oh
He walked into his practice and got ready for the day to begin.
Many hours have passed since he had opened up his practice for the day. Edward sighs at his desk. It had been a slow day. Only one person came into his practice today, and even then all they needed to do was set up an appointment. He puts his head in his hands.
Intertwined
Free
I've pinned each and every hope on you
I hope you don't bleed with me
Edward tears up a bit and wipes furiously at the stream of tears going down his face. It’s been a while since he saw them last. Call him sappy, but he misses them so much. They had left on a trip a month ago. Sure they called every couple of days, but he misses their presence so much. And with everything that had been going on with the others?
I'm afraid of the things in my brain
But we can stay here
He was... just so tired of everything that's happened thus far. He sobs quietly in his hands. No one would hear him, and even if they did, they wouldn’t think to check up on the doctor. His phone buzzes. He wipes his tears with one hand, as the other pulls out his phone.
And laugh away the fear
He laughs shakily. They texted him a cute meme and a bunch of heart emojis. He texts them back with a simple laughing emoji and an “I love you”. He smiles softly as he sees their response.
I said I would do it. I may or may not have started to cry while writing this. So, I’m sorry in advance.
Thank you to Robin for helping me with the last bit!!!
This is the first fanfiction that I’m posting on here, so any and all criticism is welcomed (please be nice though, I’m still working on my writing skills).
Warnings: death, car accidents, divorce, angst in general.
Dr. Edward Iplier had it all. A beautiful and fun wife, two healthy and happy daughters, the job of his dreams, and a beautiful house that they called home. His daughters were named Charlie and Rose, being 18 and 13 in that particular order. Charlie was the top of her high school class and was interested in pursuing a career in acting. Rose was in the local middle school, she had good grades and loved anime. His wife, Karen, was the most beautiful person he’d ever met, both inside and out. She was the funniest person he’d ever known, always cracking pun and jokes.
That all changed, however, on one fateful day.
It was an amazing Tuesday afternoon. The sun was shining, the number of patients was light. Edward only had a couple of patients to check in with today. Karen was working at a local retail store and the girls were driving home from school. The deal with Edward and Karen buying Charlie a car was that she’d drive Rose and herself to and from school. Charlie agreed and the parents bought her a car.
It happened so quickly. Two patients were rushed into the ER, both female. Edward, being the head surgeon, prepared to get ready to operate on them. His nurse wouldn’t allow him.
“Why? Is it someone from my family?” He jokingly asked the nurse. The nurse looked away with guilt and regret in their eyes.
“No…” He has a look of terror in his eyes. He rushes to the glass window separating the OR from the observing room.
His little girls… His beautiful little girls. How he wanted to hug them and fix them and tell them it would get better. But he couldn’t.
He doesn’t know how long he was standing there. Karen had come and was sitting in a chair next to him in the waiting room. She was sobbing heavily as an officer from the scene told her what had happened. Apparently some dumbass was looking at their phone while driving and ran a red light, thus crashing into Charlie’s car, hitting her side. Charlie took most of the damage, but Rose was still in pretty bad shape. The velocity of the crash flipped the car on to its side. The driver who caused the crash was miraculously fine but was facing two charges for vehicular manslaughter.
Is this what his patient’s families felt like when he was operating on their loved ones? God, he hopes his girls will pull through… But there was a sinking feeling in Edward’s chest that he couldn’t get rid of.
After what felt like hours, the doctor operating on Charlie, came out with a frown etched into his face. Usually, he was always smiling. Edward knew something was wrong the second he stepped out.
“Edward, Karen… I’m sorry… Charlie didn’t make it…” He says gently. Karen gasps and cries into Edward’s chest. He wraps her in his arms and rocks her gently back and forth. Pitied looks were being thrown in the couple's way from onlookers and others in the waiting room, overhearing the doctor’s ill news.
“We did everything we could for her… but the damage was too much.” He explained with a soft tone. “You can say your goodbyes to her.” He continued and leads the mourning parents to their dead daughter.
Edward had been holding his emotions since he heard about the accident, and now he had rivers of tears streaming down his face. Once they entered the room, Karen and Edward immediately go over to Charlie’s side. Karen sobs as she holds her cold hand. All the color had drained from Charlie’s face, leaving her pale as snow. Her jet black hair was a significant contrast to her skin tone. Edward cries quietly and strokes her hair with care and love. He kisses her forehead gently.
It wasn’t till after a couple more hours till the doctors are done with Rose. Edward and Karen at this point had migrated back into the dreaded waiting room. Both parents’ eyes are surrounded by a red rim. Finally, after what seems to be eons to the couple, another doctor comes out. She’s one of the pediatric surgeons, one of the best that the hospital has. Her face was very neutral, making Edward nervous to hear what she has to say about their little Rose.
“Dr. Iplier and Mrs. Iplier?” She calls out into the waiting room. The people and hospital staff around them look in between the couple and the pediatric doctor. Edward stands up and gently holds his wife, now not making a sound and staring off into space, up. He walks them both over to the doctor.
“Follow me please.” She leads them to a big glass window outside Rose’s hospital bed. She was hooked up to all these machines to keep her alive. Like Charlie, her skin was pale as snow but had a bit of color in her cheeks and on her nose. Her short, wavy, dark brown hair was fanned out around her head.
“Rose is currently in a medically induced coma, we will take her out of the coma and see if she wakes up from there.” The doctor explains to the grieving parents. Karen just nods.
“Can… Can we go inside and sit with her?” Karen asks shakily, her voice hoarse from all the crying she did before. The doctor nods and opened the door for Karen to enter. Edward however, stays outside to get the details from the doctor.
Karen pulls up a chair next to Rose’s bed and strokes her head lightly, being mindful of the bandages on her forehead.
“Hey, little Rosie…” He says smiling gently with even more tears in her eyes. “Mommy is here.” She continues to stroke Rose’s head and cries into her hands even more. Edward walks in after getting the details from the other doctor. Karen looks up at him as he pulls up another chair next to her.
“It’s not looking good…” He says to his crying wife as his voice cracks a bit. “She said that even if she does wake up, she’d have severe memory loss.” A stray tear runs a marathon down Edward’s face. One tear turns into many, like a dam being breached. Karen makes no move to comfort him, she just sits there.
A year has now passed since the accident happened, and its been 9 months since Rose was taken out of the medically induced coma. She hadn’t made any sign of waking up. Things between Karen and Edward got ugly since the accident. The caring and fun mother that Edward knew, was no longer. She was an empty shell of who she once was. Edward moved out into an apartment about 5 months into Rose’s coma. Karen was almost always at Edward’s throat, saying how he could have done more to help Charlie and Rose. How it was his fault that Charlie died and Rose was in a coma. Even though Edward wholeheartedly agrees with her, he just couldn’t take it anymore. So, one day he just packed up and left.
Today was going to be the hardest day of both of their lives. Since Rose hadn’t woken up in over 9 months, they had to pull the plug due to the hospital not having enough funding to keep her alive for as long as she needs.
It was a very emotional ordeal, as it would be. The hospital staff remembers Dr. Iplier walking in behind his wife, about 3 feet apart. They remember how the parents cried over their daughter as they held her hands, one on each side of her. Edward stroking her matted hair, Karen kissing her forehead, and then the pediatric doctor pulling the plug and snuffing her life out. If there was any color in Rose’s face before, there definitely wasn’t any now. The staff watch as the broken couple walks out of the hospital, leaving what they have left of their previously happy family behind.
Not even 6 months since Rose died, Karen filed for divorce. The whole divorce was probably the easiest thing the two could do, with what had happened in the past two years. Karen got the house and Edward stayed at his apartment.
What’s this, owo? More Dr. Dames?!? More common than you think!
This one is based on the soulmate AU where you have your enemy’s name on one wrist and your soulmate’s on the other. The catch? You don’t know which one is your enemy and which one is your soulmate.
Warnings: slight angst and fluff that gets a bit saucy, but then goes back to fluff.
He always thought that the neatly printed name on his right wrist was his soulmates. But as it would turn out to be, she wasn’t. She wasn’t his enemy either, maybe the universe messed up. Shortly after their divorce, Karen found her soulmate. A guy named Kyle. He was much better for her. Tall, muscular, and just overall a great guy. Now that he was thinking about it, he never saw her wrists nor the names. Maybe she was lying to him the whole time, but for 19 years? He’s heard of people who disregard their enemy’s and soulmate’s names on their wrist. Maybe she was one of those types…
No. If she was one of those types of people, she would have told him. She never did. Edward sighed and rubbed his eyes at his desk at his private practice. It was about 10 at night, everyone else had already left. He had so much work to do. A jingle can be heard throughout the office. He stands up to go greet whoever was in the waiting room.
Damien walks on the sidewalk towards a new practice in town. He’s made it his job to check on as well as welcome the new building and owners in the town. Why was he doing this at close to 10 pm? Because a mayor’s day is never truly over. He reaches Dr. Iplier’s practice. It was modern and bright. A light inside told the mayor that someone was still there. He opens the door and it jingles. A man close to 6’ walks out from the back. He has a white doctor’s coat on, a bright blue v-neck sweater, and some khaki pants. He had a very handsome face, but there was something about it that was eerily familiar. It’s probably a strange coincidence. He thinks as he holds his hand out to shake the man’s hand.
“Hello, I am Damien Hammond.” The mayor introduces himself. The doctor takes his hand and shakes it.
“Hello, I’m Dr. Edward Iplier,” Edward says his name and Damien’s face lights up.
“It’s you?” Damien says as he rolls up his sleeve to show the neatly printed name of “Edward” on his wrist. Edward gasps slightly before picking up the mayor in a hug and twirls him in a circle. Damien blushes and laughs as he wraps his arms around Edward’s shoulders, letting his cane drop causing it to hit the floor with a clank.
“I thought you were my enemy… I’m so glad you aren’t…” Edward puts Damien down gently and pulls away to show his wrist with an elegant script saying “Damien” on it. Edward tears up and smiles softly as Damien pulls him into a hug. They rock back and forth before migrating into Edward’s office where they laid on the couch and cuddled.
Edward was cuddling into Damien's chest, listening to his heartbeat. One of Damien’s hands is laced through Edward’s hair, twirling strands in between them. The other is on his waist, rubbing small comforting circles as Edward’s sobs slowly subside.
“S-sorry that I broke down on you…” Edward mumbles into the mayor’s shirt, his suit jacket being discarded at the office floor.
“It’s okay, Dreamboat~” Damien kisses the top of Edward’s head softly. Edward blushes profusely and chuckles a bit.
“Pet names already?” Edward smiles up at Damien.
“Why not? We’ve waited this long already.” Damien smiles back at Edward.
“Then…” Edward has a pensive look on his face. “You’re my Dove~,” he says with a grin. Damien smiles even more and cups his cheek.
“Edward?” Damien asks quietly. Edward hums in response. He takes a deep breath before continuing. “Can I kiss you?”
“I don’t know, can you?” Edward says with a shit-eating grin plastered across his face, but he nods. Damien laughs.
“Oh shove off!” Damien says with a grin before tilting Edward’s face up and leans in to kiss him gently. Edward smiles and wraps his arms around Damien’s neck, curling his finger in his hair and tugging on it gently. Damien groans slightly and pulls Edward closer, well closer than cuddling. Damien rubs small circles on Edward’s hips. As he does this, Edward squeaks a bit, surprised at the sudden contact. Edward pulls away to attack Damien’s neck with soft kisses, the other emitting soft groans. Edward stops and goes back to kiss Damien’s face. Damien chuckles more and cups Edward’s face to kiss him again.
“I love you, Dreamboat~,” Damien says softly into Edward’s ear as they pull away from yet another kiss. Edward blushes and smiles like a dork.
“I love you too, Dove!” Edward cuddles into the crook of Damien’s neck.
Needless to say, neither of them made it to their own houses that night, but that was okay. They were both already home.
Look who’s back with some more fanfiction! This is actually a sequel to Ill-Fated News, but you don’t need to read it to understand the plot of this one. This one is also much shorter than the other. This one was about two pages on Google Docs and the other was 4 pages.
Thank you so much to Robin again, for helping me with the ending!! Honestly, I would still be in writer’s block if it wasn’t for them!
Warnings: Mention of death and divorce
————————————————————
It was a nice, but slightly chilly morning. Dr. Iplier was cutting through the north side of the park to get from his apartment to his new practice. He was opening this morning, so it didn’t exactly matter if he was late or not. Afterall, all of his appointments were in the afternoon.
After his divorce and the deaths of his daughters, he decided to open a therapy office that helps people get through their loved one’s deaths. It was almost therapeutic for him as well. He still feels the pain of their deaths, but he understands why he couldn’t have done anything for them. It was against the hospital policy.
Damien was running late for a meeting. He races through the east side of the park, hoping that it would be faster and he wouldn’t be too late. He was checking his watch when he crashed into someone, causing them both to fall down. The other man groans a bit before getting up. He notices Damien sitting on the ground still.
“Holy crap! I’m so sorry!” The man wearing a blue sweater says as he helps the Mayor up.
“It’s okay! I should have been looking where I was going.” Damien chuckles lightly and rubs the back of his neck sheepishly.
“No really!” The man looks up and recognition flashes in his eyes. “Mr. Mayor, I am so sorry!” He looks a bit panicked.
“Please, call me Damien. And what’s your name?” Damien asks with a soft smile on his face. “And it’s completely my fault.” He argues back.
“I am Dr. Edward Iplier.” Edward hold out his hand, intending to shake the mayor’s hand. Damien takes his hand, flips it over to kiss the top of it. Edward’s face floods with color.
“L-let me at least make it up to you.” Edward stutters. Damien lets go of his hand.
“Okay, what did you have in mind?” Damien asks the doctor.
“I was thinking either coffee or dinner?” Edward offers smoothly. Damien's face floods with color as he gives the doctor a soft and gentle smile.
"My schedule is free tonight, that sounds lovely. Where do you want to meet up at?" He asks, his head tilting to the side subtly.
“How about the new place across from the Town Hall? The Italian place?” Edward suggests with a small smile. Damien's smile grows more fond and gently as he, again, kisses the top of the doctor's hand. He winks as he says with a sly smile. Edward smiles more as his face goes bright red.
“As do I!” Edward smiles brightly. He misses Damien’s touch, but something told him that they’d be holding hands again. Damien gives him a soft wave, before continuing to run through the park, hoping to get to the town hall on time and not bump into anyone else.
After Damien waves towards him, Edward looks at the time on his phone and shrugs. He has a pep in his step as he walks to his practice. Throughout the day and night, Edward has a soft smile plastered to his face.
