What’s this, owo? More Dr. Dames?!? More common than you think!
This one is based on the soulmate AU where you have your enemy’s name on one wrist and your soulmate’s on the other. The catch? You don’t know which one is your enemy and which one is your soulmate.
Warnings: slight angst and fluff that gets a bit saucy, but then goes back to fluff.
He always thought that the neatly printed name on his right wrist was his soulmates. But as it would turn out to be, she wasn’t. She wasn’t his enemy either, maybe the universe messed up. Shortly after their divorce, Karen found her soulmate. A guy named Kyle. He was much better for her. Tall, muscular, and just overall a great guy. Now that he was thinking about it, he never saw her wrists nor the names. Maybe she was lying to him the whole time, but for 19 years? He’s heard of people who disregard their enemy’s and soulmate’s names on their wrist. Maybe she was one of those types…
No. If she was one of those types of people, she would have told him. She never did. Edward sighed and rubbed his eyes at his desk at his private practice. It was about 10 at night, everyone else had already left. He had so much work to do. A jingle can be heard throughout the office. He stands up to go greet whoever was in the waiting room.
Damien walks on the sidewalk towards a new practice in town. He’s made it his job to check on as well as welcome the new building and owners in the town. Why was he doing this at close to 10 pm? Because a mayor’s day is never truly over. He reaches Dr. Iplier’s practice. It was modern and bright. A light inside told the mayor that someone was still there. He opens the door and it jingles. A man close to 6’ walks out from the back. He has a white doctor’s coat on, a bright blue v-neck sweater, and some khaki pants. He had a very handsome face, but there was something about it that was eerily familiar. It’s probably a strange coincidence. He thinks as he holds his hand out to shake the man’s hand.
“Hello, I am Damien Hammond.” The mayor introduces himself. The doctor takes his hand and shakes it.
“Hello, I’m Dr. Edward Iplier,” Edward says his name and Damien’s face lights up.
“It’s you?” Damien says as he rolls up his sleeve to show the neatly printed name of “Edward” on his wrist. Edward gasps slightly before picking up the mayor in a hug and twirls him in a circle. Damien blushes and laughs as he wraps his arms around Edward’s shoulders, letting his cane drop causing it to hit the floor with a clank.
“I thought you were my enemy… I’m so glad you aren’t…” Edward puts Damien down gently and pulls away to show his wrist with an elegant script saying “Damien” on it. Edward tears up and smiles softly as Damien pulls him into a hug. They rock back and forth before migrating into Edward’s office where they laid on the couch and cuddled.
Edward was cuddling into Damien's chest, listening to his heartbeat. One of Damien’s hands is laced through Edward’s hair, twirling strands in between them. The other is on his waist, rubbing small comforting circles as Edward’s sobs slowly subside.
“S-sorry that I broke down on you…” Edward mumbles into the mayor’s shirt, his suit jacket being discarded at the office floor.
“It’s okay, Dreamboat~” Damien kisses the top of Edward’s head softly. Edward blushes profusely and chuckles a bit.
“Pet names already?” Edward smiles up at Damien.
“Why not? We’ve waited this long already.” Damien smiles back at Edward.
“Then…” Edward has a pensive look on his face. “You’re my Dove~,” he says with a grin. Damien smiles even more and cups his cheek.
“Edward?” Damien asks quietly. Edward hums in response. He takes a deep breath before continuing. “Can I kiss you?”
“I don’t know, can you?” Edward says with a shit-eating grin plastered across his face, but he nods. Damien laughs.
“Oh shove off!” Damien says with a grin before tilting Edward’s face up and leans in to kiss him gently. Edward smiles and wraps his arms around Damien’s neck, curling his finger in his hair and tugging on it gently. Damien groans slightly and pulls Edward closer, well closer than cuddling. Damien rubs small circles on Edward’s hips. As he does this, Edward squeaks a bit, surprised at the sudden contact. Edward pulls away to attack Damien’s neck with soft kisses, the other emitting soft groans. Edward stops and goes back to kiss Damien’s face. Damien chuckles more and cups Edward’s face to kiss him again.
“I love you, Dreamboat~,” Damien says softly into Edward’s ear as they pull away from yet another kiss. Edward blushes and smiles like a dork.
“I love you too, Dove!” Edward cuddles into the crook of Damien’s neck.
Needless to say, neither of them made it to their own houses that night, but that was okay. They were both already home.
Look who’s back with some more fanfiction! This is actually a sequel to Ill-Fated News, but you don’t need to read it to understand the plot of this one. This one is also much shorter than the other. This one was about two pages on Google Docs and the other was 4 pages.
Thank you so much to Robin again, for helping me with the ending!! Honestly, I would still be in writer’s block if it wasn’t for them!
Warnings: Mention of death and divorce
————————————————————
It was a nice, but slightly chilly morning. Dr. Iplier was cutting through the north side of the park to get from his apartment to his new practice. He was opening this morning, so it didn’t exactly matter if he was late or not. Afterall, all of his appointments were in the afternoon.
After his divorce and the deaths of his daughters, he decided to open a therapy office that helps people get through their loved one’s deaths. It was almost therapeutic for him as well. He still feels the pain of their deaths, but he understands why he couldn’t have done anything for them. It was against the hospital policy.
Damien was running late for a meeting. He races through the east side of the park, hoping that it would be faster and he wouldn’t be too late. He was checking his watch when he crashed into someone, causing them both to fall down. The other man groans a bit before getting up. He notices Damien sitting on the ground still.
“Holy crap! I’m so sorry!” The man wearing a blue sweater says as he helps the Mayor up.
“It’s okay! I should have been looking where I was going.” Damien chuckles lightly and rubs the back of his neck sheepishly.
“No really!” The man looks up and recognition flashes in his eyes. “Mr. Mayor, I am so sorry!” He looks a bit panicked.
“Please, call me Damien. And what’s your name?” Damien asks with a soft smile on his face. “And it’s completely my fault.” He argues back.
“I am Dr. Edward Iplier.” Edward hold out his hand, intending to shake the mayor’s hand. Damien takes his hand, flips it over to kiss the top of it. Edward’s face floods with color.
“L-let me at least make it up to you.” Edward stutters. Damien lets go of his hand.
“Okay, what did you have in mind?” Damien asks the doctor.
“I was thinking either coffee or dinner?” Edward offers smoothly. Damien's face floods with color as he gives the doctor a soft and gentle smile.
"My schedule is free tonight, that sounds lovely. Where do you want to meet up at?" He asks, his head tilting to the side subtly.
“How about the new place across from the Town Hall? The Italian place?” Edward suggests with a small smile. Damien's smile grows more fond and gently as he, again, kisses the top of the doctor's hand. He winks as he says with a sly smile. Edward smiles more as his face goes bright red.
“As do I!” Edward smiles brightly. He misses Damien’s touch, but something told him that they’d be holding hands again. Damien gives him a soft wave, before continuing to run through the park, hoping to get to the town hall on time and not bump into anyone else.
After Damien waves towards him, Edward looks at the time on his phone and shrugs. He has a pep in his step as he walks to his practice. Throughout the day and night, Edward has a soft smile plastered to his face.
