Okay I initially wannhed to make him a playboy, yet idk, i mean he gives me like fuckboy vibes but i also feel like when he is in love… he is in love idk, puppy bf oikawa ..? Anyone??
Oh! Forgot to say, u r ushijima’s little sister <3 this is actually “inspired” over something i readed last night so… u’ll see it later lolol, anyways, back to the main topic:
• When you first started avoiding him, Oikawa was obsessed with figuring out what was wrong. His mind went to the worst places—was he annoying you? Did he do something wrong? Were you cheating on him? (He cringes so hard when he realizes how wrong he was about that last one.) • When you finally tell him you’re pregnant, his brain short-circuits. He’s Tooru Oikawa—he’s good at planning, strategizing, and charming his way out of problems, but this? He has no strategy for this. •His first instinct is fear—of failing, of not being ready, of letting you down—but he quickly shoves it down because you need him to be strong. • i feel like he is a mix of overwhelmed but determined. He immediately starts researching pregnancy (just like that one scene where he is watching volleyball matchs in his pc), even though some of it freaks him out (he nearly passes out reading about labor). • He worries about how people will react—his teammates, his family, your family (especially Ushijima, who might kill him on sight). • insists on being involved, even though he has no clue how to be a good partner in this situation. “What do you need? What should I do? Should I buy vitamins? Do you want me to carry your bag? Oh my god, what if you crave something in the middle of the night?”
You and Oikawa had always been careful to keep your relationship under wraps. You liked the privacy, especially with how chaotic things could get if people knew—Oikawa’s popularity, Shiratorizawa’s reputation, and the fact that you were only a first-year. It just felt easier that way.
But for the past few weeks, you’d been avoiding him. It wasn’t intentional at first—you needed space to process everything—but then it spiraled into not knowing what to say at all. You ignored his calls, brushed off his texts, and avoided any chance of meeting in person. The guilt weighed on you, but the truth was scarier.
Oikawa, for his part, was losing his mind. He hated how distant you’d become, hated the lack of explanation, and hated that he couldn’t figure out what had gone wrong. His only solace was the upcoming match against Shiratorizawa. You’d be there as their manager, and he was determined to get answers.
The Match
When the day of the match arrived, Oikawa was more excited about seeing you than winning. He scanned the court as soon as he arrived, and his eyes lit up when he spotted you near the Shiratorizawa team.
But then he noticed something. Ushijima was standing close to you—too close in Oikawa’s mind. The team captain’s hand rested lightly on your shoulder as he spoke to you, and the two of you exchanged what looked like a comfortable smile.
Oikawa’s blood boiled. He had been worrying about you for weeks, and here you were, looking perfectly fine with Ushijima.
When he couldn’t take it anymore, he marched over, stopping just short of the Shiratorizawa group. You were startled to see him, and your face paled as he narrowed his eyes at you.
“Are you serious, Y/N?” he hissed, loud enough to catch everyone’s attention. “You couldn’t even be brave enough to break up with me properly?”
Your eyes widened in confusion. “What?”
Before you could say anything more, Ushijima turned to Oikawa with his usual calm but intimidating expression. “What’s your deal with my little sister, Oikawa-san?”
Oikawa froze. “S-sister?” His voice cracked. He glanced between you and Ushijima, connecting the dots in real time. “I-… Oh.”
The weight of his accusation hit him like a ton of bricks. You were Ushijima’s sister. You weren’t cheating on him—of course you weren’t. He’d completely misread the situation.
The awkward tension was broken by Shiratorizawa’s coach calling the team to prepare for the match. Ushijima gave Oikawa one last pointed look before turning to follow his teammates, leaving you and Oikawa standing there in awkward silence.
“I—I didn’t know,” Oikawa stammered.
You sighed, avoiding his gaze. “We’ll talk after the match.”
The Confession
Shiratorizawa won, but Oikawa couldn’t care less. He waited for you outside the gym, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. His usual confidence was gone, replaced by an anxious energy.
When you finally walked out, you looked exhausted. You gestured for him to follow you to a quieter spot, and he did without a word.
“I’m sorry,” you started. “For ignoring you, for not explaining anything.”
Oikawa frowned. “Y/N, if something’s wrong, you can tell me. I thought—” He hesitated. “I thought you didn’t want to be with me anymore.”
You shook your head quickly. “It’s not that. I just… I didn’t know how to tell you.”
His brows furrowed, and you took a shaky breath before continuing. “I’m pregnant, Tooru.”
The words hung in the air between you. Oikawa’s eyes widened, his mouth opening and closing as he struggled to process.
“Y-you’re…” He swallowed. “Pregnant?”
You nodded, tears threatening to spill. “I was scared. I didn’t know how you’d react, and I didn’t want to ruin everything for you. You have volleyball, your dreams, and I didn’t want to hold you back.”
Oikawa’s initial shock softened into something more vulnerable. He stepped closer, gently taking your hands in his. “Y/N, why didn’t you just tell me? Do you think I’d ever leave you to handle this alone?”
“I didn’t want to burden you,” you whispered.
“You’re not a burden,” he said firmly. “This… This is a lot, yeah. But we’ll figure it out. Together.”
You looked up at him, finally seeing the sincerity in his eyes. He wasn’t running away.
“Are you sure?” you asked hesitantly.
Oikawa nodded, a small but determined smile forming on his lips. “I love you, Y/N. And if this is happening, then I’m going to be there every step of the way. For you and the baby.”
For the first time in weeks, you felt a weight lift off your shoulders. You weren’t alone in this anymore.
