Haikyuu Boys/Dads reaction to being told that the reader is pregnant!

This is one of my great mutuals!! She helps me come up with tons of writing ideas and overall she has super pretty writings as well!! We ended up discussing that the characters for this would be Kenma, Aone, Yamaguchi, Ushijima, Ukai Jr., and maybe just maybe Matsukawa! (I’ve also added in Oikawa for funsies)
After this conversation we talked more about Ukai as a dad, and ended up turning out with a series I’m going to start working on and hopefully post soon after this called Wedlock!(When I post the series I’ll tag the master list for it!)

Kenma’s reaction was very blank at first. Like he definitely loves you and would also love to have a baby with you but it just kinda took him by surprise when he came home to see you sitting at the table arms folded across your chest with some serious look on your face.
His first instinct is to ask if he’s done something wrong but before he can Your up and giggling as you hug his arm repeating the fact that your pregnant as you smile up at him.
And he kinda just tenses up😭 like it’s not even that he doesn’t want a baby cause he definitely does too, he’s just so surprised that your pregnant and after you’ve calmed down a bit he begins to kinda wiggle around as the realization sets in and he kind of just hugs you super tight. He’s got his head on your shoulder and you can faintly hear him mumble your pregnant to reassure and get it to click in his mind.
Aone…he wants a baby so bad it used to be that he wants a baby girl but at this point he’d take any gender of baby😭
He just wants a baby and he’s like terrified to tell you cause you’ve been married maybe three years and whenever someone asks when you’re gonna have a baby you just brush them off and say when the time comes, so he fears that maybe you don’t want a baby at all.
Boy is he sorely wrong, you’ve been having the same feeling when he nods at your awnser for not having kids making you terrified to tell him that you do want a baby!
Anyways, you’ve been having some pains when you walk in the area close to your kidneys, at first you thought you could tough through it kinda just writing it off as a kidney infection in your mind. So you drink tons of water. Anyways the pain doesn’t go away and you just have to pee a lottttt!! So now by this point both you and Aone are kinda worried about it being kidney stones but you keep telling him that it’s fine!
Sure whatever he thinks, then at some point the pain is so bad that you finally agree to let him bring you to the emergency room. He does and they do their little thing and eventually send you to the OBGYN for an ultrasound.
The doctors asking you to describe your pain and everything else and just kind of nods a tad concerned when they see absolutely nothing in your kidneys and they’re like…and you’re 100% certain there’s no chance your pregnant? As they run that really cold gel onto your belly.
They stop themselves mid sentence as they look at a fully developed fetus on the monitor…they end up like mumbling that you’re pregnant and you and Aone are both crying and the doctors like and it’s a girl… and they also tell you that the baby has dropped quite a bit meaning that at this point your water could break fairly soon!
Then that night your water breaks and less then 48 hours after finding out you were pregnant you deliver a healthy baby girl who Aone absolutely adores.(also it’s not impossible to not know you’re pregnant! But for a situation like this I’d imagine that the reader would be carrying her pregnancy more in her back and like lower then front and higher, front meaning her belly would be more of the common like pregnancy bump!)
Mmm, Yamaguchi definitely ends up crying. You have a cake set on the table with some words to announce the pregnancy!
The baby though you aren’t so far along has made your bladder rather weak…or maybe it’s the fact that you’ve been drinking a lot more water then normal since finding out…so you leave the table and go to the bathroom not hearing the door shut behind you.
After you come out of the bathroom you see Yamaguchi crying at the table as his head is in his palms and you’ve begun crying because now you’re frustrated.
“You ruined the surprise.” You say half-heartedly as he turns to look at you.
“Are you serious?” He asks sniffling as he looks at the cake and you nod and as soon as you do he’s darting out of the chair to hug you while he sniffles.
Another one who’s kinda just blank except he knows full well that your pregnant before you do.
In his defense you cried a lot more in the last five months then ever, and in the start of that threw up tons!
He not only suspects that your pregnant but at this point is almost 100% sure that you are!
Love is there any chance you could be- a dog barks.
Honey could you possibly be-a squirrel literally lands on top of his head.
At this point he’s kinda given up trying to ask and around a month passes without him trying to ask until you get nauseous at the smell of crayons. That night he manages to ask you clearly without any interruptions, only one is your snores as it’s three am.
So and he would never do this normally but it’s urgent! He shakes you awake and you’re like what??? As he’s asking and he’s like not even asking if you’re pregnant anymore he’s asking you to pee on this stick as he nudges the test in your direction and you just nod tiredly taking it from him and going to the bathroom half asleep.
You crawl back into bed and he’s like so what was it??? And your just like I left it on the sink, and he nods and some hours pass as he’s wide awake but can’t get up to check the results.
You eventually wake up to see him wide awake slight dark circles where he explains that you took a pregnancy test while kinda half asleep…
Your like it’s gonna be negative and push the door open to see a positive test, and he’s like I knew it as he slams his pillow onto the bed he’s been holding it since three am.
Both of you kinda just stare at the stick in shock.
(This is very vaugly going to be similar to the series I plan to write!)
Ukai and you had been an established couple for well over a year with the two of you even talking about having him move into your tiny one bedroom apartment.
Well that ideas quickly crushed when one night you’re trying to eat dinner with Keishin and end up vomiting. Yeah and that’s not the only time it happens by the third time after dinner he sits you down and just hands you a pregnancy test and you kind of just nod at him before reluctantly heading off to the bathroom.
When you’ve finished you call him back and tell him that he’s got to be the one to look at it first and he’s just like…no you🤨 goes on for awhile and finally he’s like fine, and looks and he’s eyes go wide and immediately says your dads gonna kill me.
By the end both him and you end up crying happy tears mixed with frustration as you hug each other on the bathroom floor😭
Mmmm it’s planned. He’s settled down from volleyball and retired at this point, before his retirement he continued to tell you that it would be better to hold off on having a baby until after he gets free time as he doesn’t want them to grow up without him there. And the two of you do end up waiting.
At like 36 Oikawa is finally becoming a dad. It’s maybe his last tournament in Argentina, yoh couldn’t attend and it’s been like four to five months since he could see you in person, because you moved back to Japan which was the plan for what the two of you would do after Oikawa retired so after he finished his last game he would just fly back to Japan where he had already began renting a house, that you moved into!
Anyways, sure it hurt him a bit that you couldn’t be at his official last game due to some work reasons which is the main reason as to why you had moved back to Japan before him but he was just extremely happy to see you.
He sees you with his hoodie on in the airport and it’s like floating on you because Oikawa is tall so the length of the hoodie is like very long(nice description😭) he runs up to you and hugs you and kinda squeezes you enough to feel a hard bump.
He looks down at you as he’s like feeling your belly and pushing the hoodie up trying to push you off to see it while you just hug him tighter to mess with him.
Eventually you let go of him and let him see the little bump…and he’s crying while he smiles and he’s hugging you more…he’s having a little emotional roller coaster all by himself and he’s like why didn’t you tell me?
You can tell he’s not angry just confused, you explained that you didn’t want him to feel guilty or get side tracked for his last game, and that makes him cry more!
He keeps asking if your joking…normal the two of you go all out for April fools, you normally like but a red contact in your eye and tell him some bs story and he falls for it and him just like hiding all the toilet paper or something but it gets more intense every year.
This year however it was not a joke, the past three weeks you had horrible nausea and a bit of back pain, enough to make you take a pregnancy test…
Completely forgetting about the date you call Matsukawa in and your like they’re positive… and he at first just walks out saying no😭
You’re like what do you mean no??
He’s like “that’s not funny to joke about (Y/n) you know how bad we want a baby!”
And you’re like dude what the fuck are you talking about ??
He eventually is just like “ go on say it (Y/n) I know you’re dying to just say April fools!”as he sits on the couch pouting with his arms crossed.
You just blink at him before smacking him with the pillow and yelling about how it wasn’t a joke and how you were dead serious about being pregnant and he just pauses before it clicks and he’s spinning you around in a hug while peppering kisses all over your face telling you that he can’t wait to be a dad and that you’ll be a great mother!
