“Okay, so this is how it works!” Jimmy suddenly spoke up as soon as the audience stopped clapping for you. After a few seconds of admiring the amount of people that came to see you tonight, you looked at jimmy standing right across your standing figure.
He went on explaining the game, “Each shot sits on a coaster, which has a personal question written on it, okay?” you nodded, raising your eyebrows while you tried to figure what´s in these little shots.
“You will read the question silently but you will give your answer out loud.” he said. “And then you have to choose whether to share what the question was or you can take the shot and keep it a secret.” he finished off, eyes now on you instead of the camera which is showing all of this on live television.
You nodded and smiled before jimmy spoke up again, “You must reveal at least one question during the course of the game.”
“Oh okay, got it.” you told him.
“So, tonight America is finally gonna get all the answers from me and y/n Butler, just not all the questions.” He laughed before the audience and you joined his tiny fit of laughter. “You ready Mrs. Butler?” he asked you with a grin as he turned his body towards his line of small shots.
“I am ready Mr. Fallon!” clapping your hands together as you took a good look at your line of shots, furrowing your brows at the colours of them.
“Alright y/n, you go first.” jimmy told you before you grabbed the round card made out of wood from beneath your shot, telling the audience and jimmy the name of the shot.
You silently read the question in your head, furrowing your brows as a smile crept up on your face, jimmy and the audience already chuckling at your reaction to the question.
“Alright, So I’ll just answer it.” You asked the host with a smile. Jimmy immediately nodded his head, “exactly.” You bit your lip before answering the question that everybody was desperate to know,
“Vanessa Hudgens.”
Some people in the audience gasped as you tried to make out what jimmy was thinking about right now.
“Like in THE Vanessa hudgens, your husband’s ex girlfriend?” He quietly asked you, probably not a hundred percent sure if you are comfortable talking about this on live television.
After putting the wooden card back down onto the small table, you nodded, “yep.”
He thought about it for a few more seconds before he spoke up, “Are you gonna take the shot?” Pointing his pointer finger at your small, red shot.
“I feel like I can actually reveal the question.” You said right before the audience started cheering, jimmy raised his brows.
“Really?”
“Yeah.” You told him as you picked the wooden card back up and told everybody your question.
“Which one of Austin’s exes do you like the most?”
The audience clapped while jimmy smiled and nodded along.
“Alright! My turn.” He claimed loudly as he picked his card up and answered,
“Michael Jordan.”
You furrowed your brows before you started to laugh, “what?” You asked him as the audience laughed along.
“Okay, look! I’m gonna do it just like you and reveal the question.” Jimmy loudly told everybody with a smile, picking his wooden card back up and reading the question, this time, out loud,
“Who was your worst kiss.” And you immediately started to laugh, just like the audience — clapping your hands together while jimmy desperately tried to explain everything.
“So! I met Michael Jordan on this charity event a few years ago and we greeted each other, like shaking our hands and then leaned in to kiss each other on the cheek.” Jimmy started to explain his answer while you tried to hide your laugh, covering your mouth with your hands.
“And I leaned in to kiss his left cheek but he leaned in to kiss my right cheek and then it… happened, yeah.” Jimmy finished with a chuckle, realising that this story is really weird.
After your small laughing fit, you picked your second card up, biting your lip as your eyes ran over the words writing on the small, hard wood.
“You have reveal at least one of these-, Oh wait, no! You’ve already revealed the first one so you don’t have to reveal that one anymore but… I would.” He said, shrugging his shoulders as the audience laughed along.
“I-, oh no, no, no, absolutely not! I cannot reveal this question.” You quickly told him, wiggling your pointer fingers from side to side as you did so.
“You cannot?” Jimmy gasped dramatically. You shook your head,
“No, definitely not but I can tell you the answer tho and the answer to this question is — yes, '68 comeback special suit.” You proudly teased the crowd and Jimmy.
“'68 Comeback special suit… like, the leather suit that Austin wore on the set of Elvis?” He asked you with a grin but you only shrugged with your shoulders before you drowned the blue shot.
“Alright!” Jimmy yelled through the big studio while the audience clapped, “I guess y/n really doesn’t wanna reveal the question.” He exclaimed before he picked his second card up and answered after everybody stopped clapping,
“Howard stern's house.” He muttered. With an open mouth, you tilted your head to the side but weren’t able to ask the host anything before he already picked his tiny shot up and also threw it down his throat.
“What?” You responded as the audience clapped once again. Jimmy sighed and put his shot glass down again before he looked up at you,
“You don’t wanna know, believe me.” Everybody laughed at Jimmy's statement before he spoke up again,
“Okay, last shot, it’s your turn y/n.” He stated before you picked your last wooden card up and read the question silently.
You smiled brightly, chuckling before you answered your question.
“Okay, well… I would say at least five times a week.” you gulped as jimmy smirked in your direction, probably already having a tiny clue about what your question could be.
He chuckled in a loud tone, “And what would Austin say?” The host teased you before the crown started to clap again.
You turned around and tried to hide your smile, biting your lip as you did so before you put the card down and quickly grabbed the last shot. Jimmy quickly reacted,
“Oh no, please tell us y/n!” He laughed but you only shook your head and put the shot glass back down onto the small table.
“Never.” You answered in a quiet tone, smirking as you did so.
You were pretty sure that most people already knew what question you got based on your answer but you still couldn’t say it.
Like Jimmy said, America’s gonna get all the answer's but not all the questions.
summary: in which you're heavily pregnant on the set of elvis and austin is set on making sure you the most comfortable you can be
ask / prompt : Hi! Can you please do one where the reader is pregnant and Austin is just super overprotective and cute! You choose if you want to include the birth and make it extremely fluffy. I just thought this would be amazing.
authors note / warnings: mentions of pregnancy and vomiting! I chose not to put the birth and labour in because I have another piece planned for my inez and austin series coming soon!! we love dad!austin here <3
────── ∘◦❀◦∘
Nearing the end of your pregnancy, you thought you had faced the worst of it and it would be smooth sailing from here on out. Boy were you wrong.
It was hard being pregnant and married to an actor, the busy schedules and flying from location to location was hard to keep up with, but when you’re married to the man portraying Elvis Presley.. that’s a whole other story.
Austin constantly doted on you whenever he was given the opportunity, but since you were often at home whilst he was shooting- you never really gave him the chance. But since you were met with braxton hicks last week, your doctor has recommended always being in someone’s company; Austin made sure he was that someone.
If Austin was filming a scene in the hot sun, you were sitting under a sunshade in his chair. If the call time was until eleven o’clock at night, you were asleep nearby. Austin made sure he always had you close and somewhere that he could see you.
Usually, you wouldn’t complain about getting to see Austin work. Watching him in his element was truly something special, but over the last few days you’ve just wanted to lounge around in bed and maybe finish the nursery. But here you were, sat next to a bail of hay nearing nine pm as Austin and Tom filmed the carnival scenes.
“How you feeling, mamas?” Austin looked just delicious walking over to you in his black lace shirt. Reminded you of how you got pregnant in the first place. “You’re glowing,” He complimented you.
“I don’t feel like I’m glowing,” You admitted to him. It was a warm summer night in Queensland, the humidity was not your friend. Being in the northern parts of Australia came with its perks, the heat wasn’t one of them- especially when you’re eight months pregnant. “Your child has been kicking me all day,”
“My child, huh?” Austin laughed, he almost seemed offended. “How’s your stomach? Still feelin’ sick?”
“I don’t know if I’m just nauseous because I’m pregnant or because they’re moving so much,” You rubbed your hand over your belly, “But I’m starting not to care,”
“Did you want to head back to the trailer? Have you got water?” Austin looked around, “I asked to get you water like three takes ago,” Austin’s voice became frustrated when he noticed you only had your bag next to you, no water in sight.
“Hey, it’s okay! These people are here for you, not me,” You reminded him, “I don’t need water, I’m fine,” You reached for Austin’s hand the best you could and placed it on top of your belly. Like your baby knew that their daddy was there, a strong kick made you jolt in your seat.
“Hey!” Austin laughed, “You should be asleep, little miss,”
“We don’t even know if it’s a girl yet,” It was true, your gender reveal idea was canned as soon as filming picked up. Everyone that you really wanted to attend was in a different country anyway, so there really wasn’t much of a point. That and Austin loved surprises, but he was set on your baby being a little girl.
“Oh, she’s a girl,” Austin crouched down, giving your belly a kiss, “Ain’t that right, Pres?” Austin had been adamant that you were going to name your child Presley. She was made on set baby, only fair we name him after the man who brought us here, he would argue. You weren’t letting that happen.
Austin Butler, the man who played Elvis Presley named his daughter after him? You could see the headlines now.
“We’re not calling her Presley!” You tilted his chin up to look at you.
Austin’s face broke out in a cheeky grin as he stood back up, “You said she’s a girl,” He sang. As Baz called him back over to reshoot the scene, Austin danced away from you joking whilst softly chanting ‘girl, girl, girl’. You shook your head at him and laughed.
Soon, Baz had Austin film some solo shots at the carnival, making use of the set whilst they were here. Whilst Austin was busy shooting, Tom soon made his way over to you.
“Y/N, how are you?” He asked. Tom might have been one of the most genuine men you had ever met. Soft spoken and kind, he had the ability to make anyone feel safe and calm.
“I’m tired,” You admitted to him, “Probably not as tired as you are in that costume,” Tom looked barely anything like himself, it was incredible really.
“You get used to it,” He chuckled, taking a seat down in the chair next to yours, “How much longer now?” He asked.
“Three weeks,” Your eyes widened, your heart would always race whenever you admitted it out loud. Soon, you and Austin would no longer be a family of two- forever three of you.
“Wow!” He marvelled, “Not long then. The first one is always an adventure,”
“She’s been a pretty big adventure,” You laughed, patting your belly, “I’ll tell you that,” You felt a kick back in response.
“So you’re having a girl! How exciting,” Tom sat forwards the best he could, he was always so attentive in any conversation. “My second child was a girl, I love being her dad- Austin’s gonna love it too,”
“Well, we don’t know if it’s a girl, Austin just thinks it is,” You told him. Tom watched as you looked across the carnival and over at Austin, he could see the admiration in your eyes for him. Reminded him of his wife and himself. “We don’t even have a name yet,”
“Well what names do you like?” He asked.
You thought to yourself for a second, “I like Harper for a girl, Austin doesn’t like it though,” You laughed, “He says it doesn’t ‘work’”
“You’ll know when you find the right name,” Tom admitted, “You’ll understand what he means when he says ‘it works’, I promise you that,” He laughed.
“Thank you, Tom” You turned back to look at him. After a few more minutes of conversation, Baz called Tom back for another couple scenes and you were sat alone once more. Well, not completely alone- and your baby was definitely trying to remind you of that.
The longer that you sat, the more sick you began to feel. Your stomach felt like it was cramping and turning at the same time. You tried some deep breaths to calm yourself down, but you couldn’t.
Austin’s manager noticed that you weren’t feeling well, once you had to rest your head in your hands.
“Y/N, you okay?” James leant down and spoke with a quiet voice, knowing you weren’t someone who wanted the attention on themselves.
You shook your head and swallowed the lump in your throat. “I think I’m gonna be sick,”
James, with a gentle hand on your back, lead you back to Austin’s trailer and helped you into the bathroom. It was hard for you to get close to the ground these days, but at that moment- your body knew you needed to.
You threw up your dinner, your throat burned as you dry heaved over the toilet. James was kind enough to hold your hair back for you. After a few minutes, you were rested against the wall of Austin’s bathroom, James passing you a bottle of water from the miniature fridge. You thanked him softly and apologised to him.
James asked if you would be okay as you begged him to go back to work, not needing people to watch over you. You were pregnant, not helpless. So James went back to set as you sat there taking slow sips of your water.
As Baz yelled cut and announced that they were now wrapped for the night, Austin was relieved that he could now spend the rest of his night with his wife and their baby. But as he looked over to where she was supposed to be, he found his chair empty.
He should’ve noticed you were gone. Austin mentally cursed himself, always his own biggest critic. He was too invested in filming the scene he could spare a single glance over at you, he was so stupid, he thought to himself.
“James!” Austin called over to his manager. James looked nervous as he rushed over to Austin.
“I’ve just come from the trailers,” James explained, Austin noticed his uneasy nature, “Y/N has been sick, so I’ve left her in there to rest,”
“Shit!” Austin sighed, already leaving the conversation once he heard you weren’t well, “Why don’t people come and tell me these things!” He shouted back at James, “She’s pregnant!”
Austin wasn’t an angry person, he wasn’t someone to express his feelings of frustration. Rather keep them to himself and write them down in his journal later. But when it came to you and his baby, it was a different story.
Austin was overcome with anger when he saw you sitting on the bathroom floor, struggling to get back up. “Mamas, what are you doin’ down there?” Even when upset, the Elvis drawl stayed with Austin. He rushed over to you and put an arm underneath you, ready to help you to your feet.
“I was sick, I’m just trying to get up and brush my teeth,” You explained to Austin. As soon as you were back on your feet, your ankles ached once more- oh they joys of motherhood.
“Sick? How bad?” Austin put his hand to your forehead, trying to feel for a fever, “You need me to get the doctor? She’s probably not left yet-“
“Austin,” You cupped his face with your hands, “I’m okay,”
He seemed to calm down visibly in your embrace. Austin leant into your soft touch. “Promise me you’re okay?”
“I promise! I’m just pregnant, pregnant people throw up” You talked slower to try and bring Austin back down to earth. You took a few breaths with Austin before letting go of his face, going to grab your toothbrush from the bench.
“No,” Austin beat you to it, “You’re not allowed to lift a finger for the rest of the night, you’re on my time now,”
You rolled your eyes at him, taking your toothbrush back. “Aren’t you on the clock?”
“As of five minutes ago? No, no I’m not,” Austin smirked, “So, brush your teeth and get in bed,”
“Did you want to brush them for me?” You raised your eyebrows at him.
“Shh,” Austin grabbed your face softly and kissed your head, “Get brushing,”
Although Austin was doting and protective over you, you knew that Tom was right- Austin was going to be a great dad to your little girl.
You and Austin have been married for two years now. When the both of you had decided that it was a good time to have a baby, it wasn’t long before you were making an appointment with your doctor. Your appointment was scheduled for the following week.
As the days passed, you got more and more nervous. Austin did his best to keep your mind occupied with different things. A few times, he pulled a song up on the audio system and pulled you into dancing with him.
On the morning of the appointment, Austin was the nervous one. You felt calm and just knew that you would be welcoming a tiny Butler to the family roughly nine months from now. In the waiting room, you were looking through a magazine while Austin was fidgeting with his rings. It wasn’t until you noticed a few people looking over, out of the corner of their eye, that you glanced at your husband and saw his knee bouncing like there was no tomorrow.
You silently reached your hand over and rested it on his thigh right above his knee. The bouncing stopped instantly. His hand slid down and curled over yours. And when you turned your hand over, he laced his fingers with yours. Austin took a deep breath, trying to relax his muscles and sit back into the chair.
It was only a few minutes after that, your name was called. Standing up, you set the magazine down and followed behind the nurse. Austin stayed right at your side even when you were led into a small examination room. The nurse took down your stats before asking you to change into the gown and left the room, saying the doctor would be in shortly.
As you were changing, you felt Austin’s eyes slide over your form.
“Eyes up here babe, that is part of why we are here today.” You grinned and pointed to your face.
He gave you a cheeky smirk as you sat down on the exam table, the paper crinkling underneath you.
There was a soft knock on the door and your doctor stepped in. She greeted you with a smile and when you introduced Austin, she shook his hand before sitting down.
After explaining that you had been trying to get pregnant and how you had been feeling plus the positive tests, your doctor said that she would do a blood test and give you a basic overall check.
By the end of that day, it had been confirmed that you were going to be parents. Appointments were set up for ultrasounds and prenatal vitamins were prescribed, as well as other information you would need.
Over the next few weeks, you got well acquainted with morning sickness, though for you it was evening sickness. Austin was a blessing to you, always there holding your hair back, getting you some water to sip on, always at your side.
The first ultrasound had both of you crying tears of happiness. With each ultrasound, you got photos and fell more in love. Both of you loved reading how big the baby was compared to fruit and other items.
When you heard the heartbeat for the first time, it was a completely different feeling. A recording of the heartbeat was taken home and listened to more times then you could count.
When you were able to find out the sex, you both decided to learn with a gender reveal party with your family and close friends. The moment the two of you opened the large box and blue and white balloons floated off, an image of a little Austin running around the house filled your head.
As you went through your first and second trimester, you and Austin had been working on the nursery. It was a perfect combination of the two of you. Of course Elvis was a good part of it. And you found quite a few unique finds on Etsy that would never be found in normal stores.
As your belly grew, you noticed that you felt like you were a bit bigger than a normal pregnancy. Though you just attributed it to all the craving eating you were doing. Austin was doing midnight runs, even early morning runs for the things you were wanting. He was really being the best support you could have ever asked for. One thing that you craved the entire time, couldn’t get enough of, was dark chocolate covered pretzels.
As you got within a week of your due date, Austin had gotten the couch all decked out in pillows and blankets so you could have a relaxing movie night. You were halfway through the first movie when you felt soreness in your lower back. Thinking it was how you were laying, you shifted and about a half hour later, a sharp pain shot through your lower back. Within moments you felt wetness along your legs and realized your water had broken.
“Aus… Um.. We need to head to the hospital.” You said, shifting and pulling the blankets off you.
Within moment’s, he was up and had the hospital go bag, and everything else that was needed. Once he helped you up off the couch, he looped his arm around your waist and helped you to the vehicle. In the passenger seat, you rested your hands on your belly and focused on your breathing.
“Can’t wait to see your face, little one.” You murmured with a small smile. Austin reached his hand over, resting it next to yours whenever stopped at red lights.
Within a half hour, you were up in a room, getting settled in, having ekg monitors hooked up for you and the baby. When your doctor walked in, she took a few moments to read your stats.
“Okay, well I have some good news for you.” She said with a soft smile.
“It looks like you are having twins.”
“What?!” Both you and Austin spoke up at the same time.
“Why didn’t we know this sooner?” You asked, completely shocked.
“Well sometimes this happens, one of the two tends to be hidden behind the other. And each time we checked in on you, they happened to be doing just that.”
“Oh god, you did this to me!” You point to Austin, whose face goes from awe to complete shock, confusion and dismay. “Two! I can’t do two!” The shock and hormones racing through your body right now were wreaking havoc on you. Just the thought of having to push two babies out was overwhelming.
You yelped out when a contraction hit you, almost hissing at Austin when he reached out to hold your hand. Out of your view, one of the nurses bit her lip to keep from laughing. She had seen many different reactions between partners. Once the baby was born, those thoughts and feelings were long gone.
Once the pain passed, you opted for an epidural. Over the next hour, you had dilated quickly, and the nurse had said you were lucky to get the epidural as soon as you did. Had you waited any longer, you wouldn’t have been able to get it.
Your doctor came back in when it was time to start pushing and guided you through it all. At this point, you had snatched Austin’s hand into yours, gripping as tight as you could. He was soon curled around you as you leaned against him to push when told.
When your son was born, he let out a wail that had you giving a tearful laugh of joy. The doctor placed him on your belly once the cord was snipped and he was wiped off. Before you could get lost in his beauty, another contraction hit. One of the nurses scooped him off your belly so you could push.
Only a few minutes later your second son was born. Once you had pushed out the afterbirth, both boys, wrapped up in blankets with little hats on were placed in your arms. Austin was still behind you in the bed, looking over your shoulder at the babies, his hand gently trailing over one’s forehead below the hat.
“You did this. You carried these boys and brought them into this world.” He murmured, completely lost in the little family of his in his arms.
“Our boys… They look just like you Aus.” You whispered, so in love with them already it hurt.
“What are we going to name them?” Austin asked, kissing your cheek softly and running his hand over your hair.
“Maxwell Aaron Butler and Alexander Lukas Butler?”
The moment those names fell from your lips, Austin knew they were perfect.
“Alexx and Max. You are going to be loved so much.” He whispered as you smiled and turned your head towards him.
Austin looked at you, smiled and then gave you a loving kiss.
“My love, you have made me the happiest man on this planet. I love you so much.”
“You are my other half Austin. And now, we have the most beautiful perfect twins. They are going to be just like you.”
With a loving smile, Austin kissed you softly once more before looking back to the twins in your arms. This was the beginning of the rest of his perfect life.
Imagine Aus doing school drop off and it being kind of a disaster of a morning and he's considering giving up and being like "okay fuck this let's go to the park" and there's tantrums like "I wanted MOMMY to take me to school!"
oh my lord this has been in my drafts for ages I apologize for this being sorta wonky i wrote it at 4am😭😭
“Clara you have to wear shoes, no do not throw them at me- that’s it!” Austin bent over and picked the little girl up. “There is no reason for you to be acting like this.”
Clara with a face full of determination thrashed her little body around in her father’s arms and wailed, “No no no!” She screamed out, “I want mommy!”
Running a hand down his face Austin huffed, “Clara Butler! We do not hit or kick people, that hurts and it is not nice,” he pulled open the car door and attempted to settle her into her carseat. “Quit kicking me,” he grumbled as he buckled her in.
“Momma! Mommaa!” Clara wailed out and pounded her tiny hands against the plastic cup holders.
Austin sighed and took her hands in his, “Now you listen here young lady- I don’t know what the problem is but you need to quit your yelling, do you understand me?”
Clara stared back at her father for a moment, “I don’t want you- I want momma!” She spat out.
“Well momma isn’t here right now, I’m sorry,” he replied then shut the door.
Clara began to kick the back of his seat and Austin leaned his head down on the steering wheel, “Clara, please- just stop?”
The five year old’s tantrum showed no signs of slowing down despite her father’s pleas. “MOMMA! I WANT MOMMA!!!” She screamed out at the top of lungs, her face now turning a shade of red.
“Alright! What if I take you to the park after school? We can get ice cream?” He asked as he turned around to face her.
“I want my momma-“
“Alright! You want momma so bad- Jesus, fine momma and I will take you to the park after school if you behave the rest of the day, that means no more hitting or kicking daddy- you understand?” He asked with a newfound tone of sternness.
“And we get ice cream,” Clara replied softly
“And we get ice cream,” Austin repeated as he slowly began to back out of the driveway.
Austin could tell your daughter felt a tiny bit warm as he sat on the side of her bed and rubbed her back to rouse her. "Hi sweet girl. Did you sleep good?" Usually, your and Austin's daughter would smile at him as soon as she woke up, he told you it was an every day thing for him and her. But for some reason she just frowned and whined at him.
That's weird he thought as he rubbed her arms. "Ready to go to school, bug? See all your friends?" Your daughter Ivy just whined and snuggled into Austin's shoulder. She felt horrible as soon as she woke up. Now that she was coming back to consciousness, her head hurt, she felt nauseous and she had a sore throat. "Nooo daddy! Stay home with yoooou." Your daughter knew Austin usually stayed home to do meetings over zoom and business calls from your home now that your daughter was in school. He definitely slowed down some but he needed to get things done today.
Austin just thought she wanted to spend the day at home watching cartoons and playing outside. "Oh baby, I'm sorry you want to be with daddy but daddy's gotta make money to be able to get you all of your nice toys and things. I'll be there to pick you up today though." Ivy whined, she just wanted someone to understand she felt yucky.
Maybe mama? "MAMA!" She yelled, ignoring the ache in her throat. "Mama's at work sweetie. I know, I'm sorry but we gotta get going bubs, here do you want the flamingo shirt or your koala shirt?" Ivy groaned and after a few minutes, picked the flamingo shirt. "okay, green or purple pants, bubba?" She picked her favorite ones.
At breakfast, little Ivy laid her head down on the kitchen table and whined at whatever Austin offered her for breakfast. "Here baby, if you eat breakfast, even just a little bit, I'll take you to get a cakepop on the way home from school?" He bribed.
Ivy didn't want the cakepop, her tummy felt all swirly. "No, daddy, no!" Austin sighed and packed an extra packet of muffins in her lunch box for later if she got hungry and planned to tell her teacher about them once he dropped her off.
"Alright bunny, let's go get your shoes. Go, go, go." Ivy just started silently crying when she was putting her shoes on.
"Baby, what's wrong?" Austin asked, picking up Ivy and fixing her velcro shoes. "Don't feel good daddy, please don't make me go." Austin sighed. "Ivy, can you just try for daddy please? If you still don't feel good by lunch time, go to the nurse and I'll come get you okay?" He figured it was just hunger pains and she would feel better once she got to school. Ivy just whined and shoved her face into Austin's shoulder.
Austin had just put Ivy in her car seat and started the car when Ivy knew what was about to happen. She was going to throw up. She tried to call out before she gagged, "DA-!" Austin turned around just in time to to fling his hand out under her chin and bring up what little vomit she could get up.
"Shit, it's okay baby, you're okay." Austin turned on the car phone and dialed your phone. "Hello?"
"Hey babe, we've had a rough morning. Ivy's not going to school today." Austin said as he waited with his hand cupped under Ivy's chin, waiting to see if she'll gag again.
"Why? Is she okay?" Austin groaned, "She just threw up. She was a little warm when she woke up. I'm just gonna take her inside and get her changed. Good job, baby you're okay."
You felt so bad for your baby girl. "Ivy, are you okay sweetie?" Ivy gasped when she recognized your voice coming out of the cars speakers. "Mommy?"
"Yeah baby, are you feeling icky?" Ivy nodded. "Yeah... frew up in daddy's hand... didn't mean to." She said, looking to Austin with a pout. Austin gave his daughter a small smile. "It's alright baby, daddy's gonna take you inside and get you back in your jammies. You two are gonna relax together for the day and then I'll see you later tonight okay?" Ivy nodded again. "Wuv 'oo mama." Austin smiled. "Love you too baby." you said before instructing Austin to text you updates and hanging up.
"C'mon, sickie, let's go back to bed okay? Daddy's sorry he almost made you go to school sick." Ivy snuggled up to her dad's shoulder. "It otay."
A few hours later after a big nap and crackers, while Ivy was watching a show, she remembered what her daddy promised her. "Daddy... cake pop?" Austin chuckled. "We'll see if mama can bring you home one when you're feeling better alright, princess?"
Can you do 27 and 2 reader giving birth to Daisy Butler?
Thank you so much for the request darling!
disclaimer: I know absolutely nothing about pregnancy, please forgive me for any inaccuracies!
2.) “I blame you for this.”
27.) “Hold my hand?”
You let out a cry of pain as yet another contraction rippled through you, the doctors and nurses surrounding you urging you to push!
But there was only one person in the room whose presence you really cared about, and he was standing right next to you as he had been for the past hour, whispering encouragement in your ear.
“I blame you for this,” you panted, as you had several times throughout your labor so far.
Austin only nodded in agreement, “That’s totally fair, baby, but you’re doing so, so well. Do you need more ice?” He held up the styrofoam cup filled with slightly melted ice chips, and you shook your head, groaning as more contractions hit.
You met Austin’s eyes, letting some of the fear you felt shine through. “Hold my hand?” you said softly.
“Of course, honey, of course.” Austin took your hand, gripping it tight in an attempt to distract you from the pain. You’re sure you were crushing his hand as you continued to push, but if it caused him any discomfort, Austin didn’t say a word.
Several hours later, you finally, finally, heard the tiny cries that meant your daughter had entered the world.
Tears pricked at your eyes as the doctors handed her to you, and you held your daughter in your arms for the very first time. You marveled at how tiny she was, how fragile. Taking in her features as you held her to your chest, you noted that she had Austin’s eyes, right down to the joyful sparkle in them, and his dirty blond hair.
“Hi, sweetheart,” you whispered, “Welcome to the world.”
You beamed up at Austin, who also had tears welling up in his eyes. He was speechless, glancing between you and the infant in your arms.
“Congratulations, Mom and Dad! Have you two thought about names?” A nurse asked.
You and Austin had gone back and forth for weeks once you found out you were going to have a girl, and eventually you had settled on:
“Daisy Lori Butler.”
You nodded towards Daisy burbling in your arms, smiling up at your husband. “You wanna hold her?”
He nodded, and you carefully transferred her to his arms. He moved slowly, like he was afraid she would break at any moment, and smiled down at her with a look of wonder on his face.
“Hi there, Daisy,” he whispered, and you could tell he was holding back tears, “I’m your dad.”
You yourself were holding back tears at the sight of your favorite person in the world holding what was now your other favorite person in the world. After several minutes, she began to whine, and he transferred her back to you, where she calmed down once she was back against your chest.
Austin carefully perched next to you on the edge of the bed, placing one arm around your shoulders and the other around your arms supporting Daisy. He pressed a kiss to your head, and murmured into your hair, “I love you so, so much.”
“I love you, too,” you smiled up at him, voice thick with tears, eyes heavy from the physical and emotional toll the day had taken, then corrected yourself. “We love you.”

MASTERLIST — SERIES

Austin had been there throughout the whole birth of his little girl, Leia. He was beside his wife, holding her hand and encouraging her to push. His wife, Rose, didn’t make much noises, she would just grunt from frustration now and then.
But her grip around her beloved husband’s hand would tighten every time she tried to push. He would watch, consoling his wife, cheering her on, telling her she was doing a splendid job, he was always there for her. He was there. And that was all that mattered to her.
Finally the sound of frustrated groans and grunts, was joined with cries and wails. Their daughter had been revealed to them. They both watched as their new born daughter was placed onto Rose’s stomach with a towel wrapped around her, and Rose brought their baby close to her. The first thing she did was tell their daughter how much she loved them. ‘Leia… Leia my sweet girl. Don’t cry, your momma and papa love you very much.’ She had cooed to Leia. ‘Hello honey, hello my love, hi.’
Austin by now, had fallen completely silent. He was staring at his daughter, trying to process that he was a father, and that his beautiful wife was now a mother. He kept staring at Leia, listening to Rose trying to calm her down. Deep inside, he felt happy, incredibly happy.
The moment he had gotten the news that Rose was pregnant he was ecstatic. Thinking of names for their cute girl, smiling so bright. He’d come home from work, give her a kiss, and her stomach as well. At times he’d simply kneel down to hug her stomach, wanting to show their baby love. Or he’d lay with Rose, his head on her stomach, talking to not just her, but their baby as well.
Now that their baby, their daughter was here. The same ecstatic feeling he felt when Rose told him was still there, greater than before. ‘Isn’t she beautiful, Austin?’ Rose’s sweet voice snapped him back to reality.
‘Yes,’ he agreed without thinking, ‘the most beautiful thing in the world.’ He had an innocent childlike tone. Rose smiled sweetly up at him, knowing that he didn’t know how to process what had just happened. She looked back at their baby, cupping Leia’s face to gently kiss her head.
Finally, once their baby was clean and taken care of. She was wrapped like a banana, and Rose had been embracing her the whole time. Leia was sleeping soundly, her father hadn’t yet held her. Austin was sitting by his wife’s side, too afraid to hold their daughter. Worried he was going to hurt her. Worried he was gonna hold her improperly.
He had his head against the rail, staring at them both in silence. ‘Baby,’ she looked at him.
‘Yes love?’ He responded, looking back at her brown eyes.
‘You should hold her, y’know.’
He was quiet for a bit before looking at their daughter then at her. ‘I’m… what if…’
‘You won’t hurt her.’ Rose soothed him. ‘You’re too kind for that.’ She promised as she leaned towards him. He had always listened to her, no matter what. So he did. ‘Hold her head, my love,’ she watched him hold his hands out. Gently taking their daughter into his arms, he held her head in his hand, his forearm underneath her. Cradling her in his arms.
He sat in the chair beside the hospital bed, his gray eyes stared deeply at his sleeping daughter. She had a small face, blonde hair, a button nose. She was snugged into the blanket, she looked peaceful, happy. Rose watched her husband with fond eyes, seeing how he was trying his best to be gentle. His thumb touched Leia’s cheek. ‘Hello.’ His voice was barely a whisper, trying his best to not disturb his precious girl. ‘Hi princess.’ He managed to smile.
Rose leaned back in the hospital bed, knowing that her baby was safe. Her eyes fluttered, trying to stay awake so she could watch how he’d treat Leia. He craned his head down, forward, planting a gentle kiss on Leia’s forehead. Watching her again as his thumb grazed her cheek. ‘I love you.’ Even though his girl didn’t know what that meant. He wanted to tell her either way. ‘Momma and papa love you so so much, princess.’ He croaked.
His head turned towards Rose, seeing her sleeping soundly. He looked back at his little girl. ‘Y’know, you’re named after Princess Leia. Your momma said you were feisty, and you’re a princess, so it only suited that you’d be named after her.’ He rasped out, still trying his best not to wake her. Leia wiggled a bit but, fell still once more. ‘Leia,’ he breathed out, feeling his eyes well up with emotions. He knew he was about to cry, which was odd. It had been a long time since he cried. ‘Oh, you beautiful girl.’ He squeaked, biting his lower lip to stop himself from crying.
He was happy. Euphoric. He had a little family with the woman he’d spend the rest of his life with. He had a family, a little family with his forever. A girl so sweet, so gentle and pure, something so innocent and cute. Something that he and his wife had made. He didn’t know why but he felt a sudden protectiveness over their new born. He vowed to protect his wife, and now that their baby was here, he’d vow to protect her too.
‘Momma and papa love you, we love you.’ He assured Leia, leaning down to kiss her forehead once again. ‘We’ll protect you, till the end of time.’
At times Austin would stand over the crib of their daughter, holding his hand to her. Her small delicate fragile hand would hold onto his thumb. He’d say sweet things under his breath while Rose would watch. Once Leia would fall asleep, he’d kneel down beside the crib to watch her.
After a few minutes, he’d walk back to Rose. Kiss her cheek and Rose would ask him to sit on the bed with her, to which he would. With his arm over her waist, her head against his shoulder. Their hands had intertwined. ‘You’ll be a fantastic father Austin.’ She looked up at him sweetly. Brought her hand up to his face to make her look at her. His gray eyes deeply looked into hers longingly, and she returned the gaze. ‘So don’t worry okay? We’ll be happy. We’ll be a happy family.’ Then, she brought her lips to his. Kissing him.
When they both pulled away from each other, Austin spoke to her softly. ‘I’ll protect you Rose, I promise. You and Leia. I’ll protect our family. I swear.’
‘I know.’ Rose didn’t doubt her husband for one moment. ‘I know my love. I know.’

Austin stared at his necklace, nibbling his lower lip. He inhaled sharply, clearing his throat. Turning his head towards the living room, he heard squealing in the background. Leia had been playing with Fredrick and Serpent. The trio were playing tag, with Serpent barking whenever he got tagged, slipping on the wooden floor.
Leia running around trying to chase Fredrick. Only to jump into his arms and exclaim, “I caught you Freddie!” With a bright grin on her face.
“Aw! Looks like ya got me, ma’am!” He complained.
Austin smirked, shaking his head. He looked back at his necklace, clipping it back around his neck. “Yeah, she is beautiful, Rose… she’s the most beautiful thing in this universe.” He kissed his wedding ring, getting off the chair to walk over to the trio, joining in on the fun.
Those were all memories now. Memories that Austin clung onto.
