When you’d met Bokuto you hadn’t been to far along, of course with that being said you did have a noticeable bump.

You’d been trying to put your groceries in your car, and god for if you bring the cart outside of the store with you, needless to say Bokuto watched you drop at least half your groceries as you waddled out the store…

He was a gentleman however and helped you pick them all up, by that I mean he literally took the groceries from your hands and picked up all the other groceries…definitely to show off his strength but he won’t say that.

“Dad’s got you doin all the shopping?” He says in a joking manner and you mumble.

“Wish…bastards not in the picture.” Yoh continue to grumble a bit about your baby’s biological dad’s shitty behavior and he lets out a little chuckle.

Your brows furrow, “you think that’s funny” you ask hands placed on your hips as you stare up at him.

“Oh god no” he quickly corrects as he waved his hands around, “never, just think it’s funny he was willing to leave such a pretty lady.” He watches as you fluster pulling your sweater closer to yourself before moving to dig in your purse.

“Your reward” you tell him jokingly when you hand him your phone number scrawled down on your crumpled receipt.

Before you knew it Bokuto was asking you on a date, “it’d be fun!” You giggled a bit before agreeing.

Bokuto, obviously enamoured and happy that your date had gone well told his mother and sisters, “she’s so nice and I think she’s perfect. She just gets me” he rambles as he practically throws himself onto the couch.

“Your sitting on me” his sister squeals as she removes her foot from underneath her elder brother.

“Didn’t you say she was pregnant…” his mother calls from the kitchen.

“She is!” He says excitedly, “and she’s already got a name picked out for the baby and she showed me photos of her!! She’s so cute” he coos happily as he remembers how happy you looked when he asked about ultrasounds you’d quickly dug around in your purse pulling the photos out as you show him animatedly pointing out every detail of the tiny baby.

“And you think that’s the person you should be with” his mother is standing near the kitchen now, her brows are furrowed disappointment clear as she cries her hands with a small kitchen towel.

That was the first of many times his family had tried to dissuade him from committing to you, especially before the baby was born.

When you’re eight months pregnant Bokuto begs you to come along to a small festival in town with his family. Reluctantly you agree, after hearing how his family didn’t really approve of you, you couldn’t help but be nervous.

“You must be y/n” his mother greets as you stand beside him, the whole encounter is awkward and choppy and you don’t like it very much.

But before you know it you’ve ended up in line for a small little food booth Bokuto’s mother and sisters huddled in the front of you and Bo before they order their food.

You both volunteer to wait around for the food and meet them at the bench.

He watches the way your back seems compressed as you finally lean forward trying to take some of the weight of your belly away.

“It hurts” You mutter, “she’s getting heavy” you’ve tilted your head back.

“Wish I could hold her for you” he says with a sad smile, you grin widely.

“…you can” you take his hands in your own making him lift a lot of the weight from your belly effectively reliving a lot of the pressure she’d been placing on your back.

The second time that his family really all sees you is at the hospital, your close to sleep and Bokuto is sat in the corner, “hi baby” they watch him whisper to the tiny girl who gurgles softly wrapping her little hand around his finger.

“She has all her fingers and toes?” You slur, he nods, “she’s perfect”

He kisses your forehead softly before gently placing the baby into your arms, his family watches fondly from the door, maybe they had been wrong about everything…

Atsumu

The two of you weren’t in the healthiest of relationships, constantly feeling like you were bottling up your emotions and at some point the bottle just exploded. And that marked the end of your relationship.

While Atsumu within the first month made several attempts to contact you, you made it clear you didn’t want his apologies. But when you found out you were five months pregnant with twins, you wished you hadn’t been so adamant on not accepting his apologies.

But almost three years later and you’re raising your precious boys with everything you’ve got. You kept Osamu and their mom in your lives, telling them you didn’t know who their dad was but by their little personalities and looks it was pretty clear that those were Atsumu’s boys.

One of the days that you were over, Atsumu’s mother failed to inform you that her son would be coming over for the weekend.

“Y/n” you hear a familiar voice call

“Atsumu” you smile feeling a little guilty.

“Mama!” The boys suddenly run into the room before they flop onto your legs giggling their little heads off with a laugh similar to Atsumu’s.

“Y/n?” Atsumu repeats again clearly confused.

You give him a little sympathetic look before setting the boys back on the floor and walking to the porch with him as you explained everything to him.

“They’re mine?” He asks in awe as you nod a little.

“They’re so little and precious, can’t believe I’ve already missed so much” he holds his head in his hand as you feel a little guilty that you hadn’t told him about the boys sooner but before you can apologize he’s telling you how the four of you are going to be the perfect little family and how he’s going to try and win back your love and bond with the boys as much as he can.

Bokuto

Honestly how in hell you were able to hide the fact that Aiko was Bokuto’s daughter was a miracle. She had his personality, you could remember Bokuto’s mother telling you about how he used to give her the most adorable puppy eyes after he’d made a mess and right now, as you’re sat on Akaashi’s couch you watch her give you the same puppy eyes as you sit across from your ex-boyfriend giving you the same look.

“Please, y/n? Just one more chance?” You’d made the drunken mistake of telling a sober akaashi who Aiko’s father was.

Akaashi eventually played middle man and brought the two of you to his house and now you’re sat next to Bokuto after explaining how you didn’t want to raise Aiko in an on and off relationship.

“We’ll be better” he promises, “I learned a lot I promise jusg one more chance y/n” and once weak for those gorgeous puppy eyes of there’s always weak for them as you let out a little sigh before giving in.

He gently scoops Aiko up dragging you along telling the two of you about a little cafe he saw on his way here for your second first date!

You hadn’t been with Bokuto for that long, you’d found out you were pregnant almost three weeks after being introduced to his friends and it freaked you out, at the time Bokuto was pretty popular being a pro-athlete but in addition to that, he began to become popular outside of sports.

Of course you were incredibly nervous to tell Bokuto, you’d just celebrated your sixth month anniversary like maybe two weeks ago, thankfully Bokuto took the announcement really well even asking if you’d wanted to get married, of course you preferred the two of you wait until after the baby was born to do that, just for convenience.

Of course when Bokuto brought up the fact that you two should tell his friends you were extremely nervous, you had a feeling they were a bit protective of their friend and you were certain they weren’t going to take the news well at first.

Of course, they did not. When you two told them you had a small baby bump, it wasn’t an extremely noticeably one, as in if you stood a certain way you couldn’t see it but if someone saw you sideways they could probably guess what it was. So when Bokuto excitedly told his friends of your pregnancy as he smiled brightly their eyes all turned to you with your nervous smile hands placed gently over your belly.

Of course a few suspected the two of you were going to break up, and a handful had even begun whispering about how you might have baby trapped Bo as soon as he slipped off to the bathroom. It made you uncomfortable but you knew the truth so you tried not to let it get to you too much.

Of course when your little girl was born, Bokuto was sending pictures by the hundreds to the group chat, “look how cute guys!” follows a picture of the three of you all sat on the hospital bed, you’re more awake than you were in the last photos he sent, you’re holding your daughter who looks like she’s in the middle of cooing and wiggling in her swaddle as Bokuto leans over the bed smiling up at his phone. And in the photo none of them can seem to miss the pretty engagement ring that adorns your finger.

Bokuto has never been one to be quiet about his affections for you. Even now as he’s sat in a rocking chair with you on the couch beside him your daughter sat on his lap leaning against him as she bobs in and out of sleep trying to listen to the story he’s telling her.

It had been spurred on because she’d been crying about how her teacher told her she was to little to marry Akaashi’s son after she practically dragged him around as she held his hand.

You think back to the way Bokuto would have dragged you around the play ground singing praise about you as he told everyone you were going to get married.

He even had a big he found play the officiant to your wedding the weekend after he’d gone to a wedding with his mom.

“No! Y/n, you have to say I do not yes! Silly” he was giggling as you let out a little oh.

It was quite silly looking back on it but Bokuto took it incredibly serious, once he got old enough to understand that the two of you were not legally married he settled on making you his girlfriend, and than declared almost anytime he could that he was going to marry you.

And on your wedding day, he’d managed to incorporate the whole little story into his vows telling everyone this was literally the happiest day of his life and he’d asked you to marry him everyday!

Your daughter is long asleep, and your baby boy had been put in his crib quite some time ago when Bokuto finds an end to his story.

He glances over at you smiling softly at the way you try and keep your head up when you slip in and out of consciousness just like your daughter had, and Bokuto has always thought that the wait was worth it and if he’d have to wait an eternity to marry you? He would do it.

I’m so excited to write this I love him so much????? Thank you for requesting this I love you so much!! Mwah! (I’m always writing girl dad so I’ll make him have a boy today!)

You’d met Bokuto when you were working as a barista, only a few months ago. He talked with you a few times sending you a cute smile every time you’d caught him peeking over the coffee machines to see you make the coffee.

“Aw many I thought you’d write your number on it like in the movies” he whines as he turns the cup.

You giggle taking it back and scrawling down your number. And it went from there, little chats over the counter before a customer would ring your bell seven or eight times rolling their eyes, always the same person who’s came in behind Bokuto huffing how tomorrow they’d get here before him to not see your pda.

Every night after work, Bokuto would run in the house giggling like a mad man as he set his son’s car seat down, unbuckling the boy as he giggled and babbles happily.

“Daddy got a date today little man” Bokuto tells his son as he gurgles back at him after picking him up.

He’d spend the rest of the day talking with his baby about everything, anything he wanted to talk about as he pretended there wasn’t a language barrier between the two of them.

But when the day finally came around Bokuto was extremely nervous, his babysitter canceled last minute, his mom had the flu and he wasn’t going to chance his baby getting it for a date, his sisters were out of town? What was he going to do?

Message you this, “mind if I bring my plus one?”

You a little dejected having thought it was a date, “yea sure! I don’t mind!” You did mind, he had a significant other and he didn’t tell you? What was the whole point of his flirting?

But when he shows up to the little botanical garden with a baby car seat you know damn well that this wasn’t what you were expecting unless he was about to pull out his wife as well.

“Y/n, this is my son Hiro, Hiro this is y/n” he tells the boy who simply gives you a gummy smile.

You’re a bit stunned, but maybe you should have guessed it when he came in with spit up on his shirt and a burp clothe forgotten over his shoulder and eye bags on some days…definitely not a deal breaker but it would have been nice to know before, maybe you would have been able to get Hiro a little gift or something.

He smiles nervously, “don’t tell me you hate kids” his smile drops as he cradled his son closer to himself.

You’re quickly waving your hands to tell him no, “not at all! I love kids! I think they’re great! I thought about teaching even!!” He nods seemingly relived as his son reaches for the buttons on his shirt.

“How old is he?” You ask looking at him, he’s adorable, he looks like a carbon copy of Bokuto but as a baby. His hair isn’t spiked up, he’s got little wisps of grey and darker grey hair on his head and golden eyes like Bokuto does.

“He’s eight months old!” He tells you excitedly, “he can sit up and giggle at silly noises!” He babbles to Hiro who reaches for his face as he smiles his little head tilting back.

When Hiro begins to lean over reaching for you Bokuto doesn’t stop him, you give the baby a little wave and he’s about ready to jump into your arms as Bokuto settles him into your arms.

The first thing he reaches for is the sleeve of your shirt bringing it to his mouth as he lightly gnaws on it.

“Buddy don’t do that” Bokuto lightly scolds as the baby giggles.

“Buddy don’t do that” you find yourself repeating almost three years later as Hiro looks around before dragging his crayon right off the paper, he jumps having not seen you before he looks at the crayon mark on the floor with wide eyes.

“Mama uh oh!” He runs to you hugging your legs as he points to the crayon like it had did it without him.

“Did he draw on the floor again?” Your husband asks.

“He did Kou” you sigh patting Hiro’s back before telling him to grab the sponge.

I just had a thought about how would the boys and their wife (reader ofc) reaction of getting a call from the hospital where their kid was born or a lawyer or whoever that may work with those cases and finding out that the kid/kids they were raising (doesn’t matter how much time) was not theirs because a nurse got confused with the babies and now the real parents that were raising their actual kid want to do an “exchange of kids and get their baby back, and it’s just so heartbreaking for them realizing that the kid that they raised and loved so much was not really theirs and yk those kind of things.

(btw I was watching a mexican show with my mom last night that it was kinda similar to this, so I just thought instantly about you and haikyuu soooo. I hope you liked the idea.)

When you’d gotten the call he saw immediately how the tears began to well in your eyes, he was patting your precious little boys bottom in the rocking chair beside you.

“I don’t understand, how could this even happen?” Kenma can tell your confused he gives you a little nod and you just shake your hand trying to listen to the lawyer who’s telling you about how they’ve submitted every fine detail they need to get their son into their arms.

“But we’ve raised him? How can they just fake him away? We’re his parents?”

The silence makes your ears ring and before you know it he’s telling you about a court date and the call is over.

When you both appear in court, you both see the little boy who was swapped with your own. He had big wide brown eyes and the two people holding him grumbled as they shifted him from hip to hip.

When the court mandated swap happened, you felt emotionless, for almost an entire year that was your little boy, and no matter how much you grew to live your biological son there was still a gap left gaping where your precious little boy belonged.

Of course that gap hadn’t lasted very long, close to the boys’ first birthday you received the second call asking if you’d be interested in getting full custody of your little boy, his biological parents hadn’t felt the bond they thought they would have had with him and really didn’t like the idea of keeping him from having a life with parents who had formed that bond.

Matsukawa

The phone was on speaker, your daughter was incredibly fussy, you and Issei were stood in the kitchen trying to work a bottle into her mouth as she cried, it was typical she’d begun teething and poor baby’s gums were hurting.

Issei gently bounced with her as he held her head to his chest humming softly.

“It’s alright honey daddy’s got you.” He whispers softly as she whines he softly kisses her head as she begins to calm down.

You get the call as Issei continues to calm her.

You watch the way your husband’s face drops he softly eases his hand off of your daughter’s head to look at her face.

“But she looks like us?” His voice is quiet and he doesn’t understand how she couldn’t be your biological daughter, “you can’t just do this to us? She’s our baby?” He’s hurt and you can hear it in his voice.

“Sir no, they don’t want to take her away…they were thinking maybe you split custody of both children…”

“We need time to think about this…” he mutters and you nod, “take as long as you need” before the end tone rings out.

You can see the tears well in his eyes as he bounces her softly holding her carefully and tightly.

“It’s alright, they don’t want to take her” you squeeze him tight and he practically shutters.

You aren’t sure what you’re supposed to do, if you should mourn vital bonding time that’s been lost with your biological daughter or hold your little girl close and hope all they want is joint custody.

Aone

After discovering what had happened he wasn’t sure how he should react. It was confusing, he was certain that his baby was his and that was it. So of course when you got the call he held onto your daughter extra tight.

“I’m sorry…so what do you want to do?” You’re certainly confused, you weren’t just going to let someone waltz in and take your precious little girl.

Aone tries to hold her closer but she uses her chunky little arms to push herself up as she stares back at you with her wide brown doe eyes like she knows what you’re talking about.

“They want to make it aware to you that the child you’re raising is biologically there’s, as far as they’re concerned though, they’d like to treat it as an adoption for the babies sakes.”

You look to your husband who gives you a silent nod and you let out a little sigh of relief.

Bokuto

He was incredibly emotional. How are you supposed to act when you find out your eight month old baby boy actually isn’t your son but he is your son because you have that connection with him?

“Bo” your voice is soft as you knock on the nursery room door he gazes up from his place on the floor where his arm is pulled through the rails of the crib by your little boy who sleeps obliviously to his dad’s distress.

“It’s gonna be ok…they called to see if we’d be willing to gain custody of their boy…the dad didn’t handle it to well…”

His brows furrow, “like twins” you watch as he lets out a wet giggle at his own idea.

“Kinda…” you’ve got a tiny smile as well and when you look over to your son he’s got a very tiny smile as well like he’s excited at the idea of gaining a brother.

Akaashi

It was your neighbor, she’d been pregnant at the same time went into labor same day and everything.

Of course, you didn’t think she would have went home with your baby, and you her’s. But when she had her paternity test come back as negative it threw her for a loop , thus beginning to unravel a whole story.

Thankfully she’d had the rest done pretty early so you could begin to raise the kids with both of you involved in their lives.

Akaashi seemed heart broken when she’d invited the three of you over for dinner and broke the news.

“I don’t think it would be right to take her from you…and I don’t want you to take my daughter either” she’s nervous you can tell with the way her eyes dart between the girls and she knows at her lip.

“But I also don’t think it’s very fair to deprive them of biological parents” both you and Akaashi nod.

“It’s definitely something to consider…” keiji whispers after she’d brought up doing alternating weekends with both girls, so every other weekend you’d have both the girls and they’d be raised basically like sisters, but on weekdays and days they simply didn’t want to go they would stay with the parents who’d raised them.

Akaashi thought it was best for the girls after he’d walked into the living room to see one of them crawl over to give her sister a block before giving her a slobbery kiss to the cheek.

You’d been nervous to tell Bokuto, but you felt like if you ripped the bandaid off fast it wouldn’t hurt as bad, so of course you decided to tell him as soon as possible. Of course in the process of creating a little box to keep all your things in to surprise him with you’d accidentally left the test on the bathroom counter, of course Bokuto saw this and it took everything in him to not run out and ask you if you were really pregnant.

So when two weeks later you’d called him in with a pretty little box sat infront of you he let out a loud sigh followed by, “thank goodness, I didn’t think I could keep it in any longer” when he opened the lid to see all the ultrasound photos and a few clothing items plus the positive test.

Of course than he had to tell you about how he knew because of the test you left on the counter.

“So you knew?”youre dejected and he knows that.

“No no no,” he corrects “ I suspected!”

And over time you eventually got over the fact that you had ruined your own surprise and began preparing the nursery.

Bokuto was almost certain that the baby was going to be a girl…even after the doctor told you that they’d be a boy, of course at every appointment he’d ask them to check just in case. Just so happen at your last appointment you’d had a different doctor who announced that your baby was most definitely a girl, and all Bokuto could do for the rest of the month was giggle in delight everytime he bought little girl clothes.

He’d even come home from work one of the days with little hair bows, “look at these baby!” As he held up the pink bows proudly.

And once she was born you best bet she was dressed in the cutest clothes, everything he saw that reminded him of his little girl was bought…and I mean everything. At some point you did have to tell him to stop or the house would burst with all her gifts!

When the two of you were finally ready to show her to his friends you were nervous, you had only seen them a handful of times.

Of course when you two walked in Bokuto holding your happy baby girl in his arm as you’re holding his hand they can’t help but feel a little guilty about everything they said before.

When Bokuto met you, you weren’t very far along, just enough to have the tiniest baby bump, like so small Bokuto didn’t even notice it! He met you at Akaashi’s house, you were there because you’d left a stack of papers on Akaashi’s desk and one of the papers wasn’t for work it was some type of test result and he noticed when he got home quickly calling you over to retrieve the paper.

However Bokuto was at his house and you know ever the dramatic man as soon as you walk in he’s pestering Keiji to ask if you’re single.

And by the end of that night, Bokuto had gotten a date with you, by the fifth date you were probably really showing your bump if you hadn’t been wearing baggy clothing to hide it, “Listen Koutaro…I have something to tell you.” You mumble nervously as he nods.

After that life moved on smoothly, before Keiko had been born, you moved in with Bokuto who had already painted a nursery baby pink and had cute little decorations, unfortunately the rest of his house was barely decorated so that had to be fixed…

Bokuto was absolutely in love with you, he had a ring box in his pocket every day probably since the fifth date, one day when you’re around eight months pregnant he pops the question, you obviously say yes.
