Canonically he's a cop so maybe he gets worried about how dangerous his job is and if he can handle the extra stress? He gets distant from reader because of it and doesn't wanna add any extra stress to the pregnancy. It could def be angst to fluff.

When Daichi first became a cop he hadn’t thought anything of it, it was a nice job that paid well. After you two got married however, was when he started to become concerned.
His head would swirl with thoughts of you getting injured or living alone because he’d been injured with his job, and after you two had found out you were pregnant the fear only grew.
Today however, while he was directing traffic working as a crossing guard, before he could direct any traffic someone had almost run him over. And for a moment Daichi let the shock rush over him before calling in the liscense plate. Thankfully he was unscathed and someone else offered to take over his position.
When he’d gotten home you were next to the kitchen island a big mixing bowl sat infront of you.
You smiled sweetly at him and when he got over to you, he didn’t hug you like normal, he couldn’t what if that guy got arrested and came for you because you were the most precious thing to Daichi.
So for the next month the process proceeded. He’d broken up your schedule so much you’d find yourself crying to sleep as he’d stay in the living room late at night watching trashy television in his recliner which he’d only bought to rock your baby in, you miss the way he’d rub your belly at night helping to soothe the soreness and calm down your baby girl’s sharp kicks to the ribs.
One of these days however, you’d had a little scare, you’d thought you’d had an early contraction thankfully it was just a Braxton hicks contraction, still to be cautious you’d had a friend drive you to the hospital, you never called Daichi, he hadn’t talked to you since last week.
“Y/n? You’re here?” Daichi sighs out in relief as you walk into the house he holds you tight and your brows furrow, you place your hand on his back.
“I was worried” you can see the relief in his eyes.
“You were worried?” It’s than he realizes how horribly he’s messed up.
It took an incredibly long time to forgive him for ignoring you like that but inevitably you did.
When you gave birth to your precious little girl Daichi relized than that while yes his job comes with risks, that everything does even what he thinks will protect his family comes with risks and he’s happy he was able to relize that before it was to late to fix his family.
He smiles softly at his baby who stares up at him with her big brown eyes in her cute little bear onesie he’d boughten.

Are you pregnant?” he asked failing to stay calm, you didn’t answer but just started at your feet playing with the hem of your cheer skirt,” ANSWER ME”,” Yes” you gulped a tear falling from your eyes,” How stupid can one person be, getting yourself knocked up like street Whore” he continues to shout. Meanwhile, your mom stood in silence, she didn’t look at you, no attempt to keep her husband calm,” You have two options, getting that thing removed from your body and never seeing that boy again or to leave and never contact us again. Meanwhile, Daichi came out of the shower when he saw your voicemail, a small smile spread on his lips, he quickly called you back but was just hit with your voice mail. “Hey baby, I heard your message. I’m excited to hear your answer, I love you no matter what. Call me once you hear this”, Daichi then got dressed when he heard his phone vibrate,” Hey-”,” Daichi, can you come and get me, please? My parents found out and kicked me out of the house. I don’t know where else to go” you said, hiccuping thought the sentence. “ Of course meet me at Ukai’s shop,” he said.
You readjusted your bag while walking towards Ukai’s, it was slowly getting dark again and the weather in Japan was still cold. You arrived at Ukai’s and saw the coach reading his newspaper, he gave you a wave which you returned. You hoped that he didn’t see your tear-streaked face but he apparently did when a box of tissues appeared next to you. “You must be Daichi’s girl, wanted to talk to you at practice but never got the chance to,” he said sitting down next to you,” Daichi told you?”,” Well, he bought some pregnancy tests from me, so it’s either you or he got someone else pregnant but from how you look I guess it’s you and that your parent’s kicked you out” Ukai patted your head sympathetically,” You properly will need a job and luckily for you, I’m looking for staff and from what specs keep saying about you I trust you not set the store one fire while I’m gone” your eyes widen,” Wait so you're saying I’m able to work here?” he nodded with a smile,” From next week on, we can work around your school and club activities, the same with Daichi if wants it”. Daichi grabbed your bag and with his other he grabbed your hand, rubbing the skin softly ” Is this everything?”,” they only gave me 10 minutes to back up my stuff, you still have that spare key right?” Daichi nodded,” We can go directly after school to get the rest, they won’t be there until much late” Daichi hummed,” Yeah and tomorrow is teacher’s conference so there won’t be any training for us” he said.
Arriving at Daichi’s house-made your hands become sweaty, what if they also kick you out and Daichi, where would your live?.” I’m home again and Y/N is also here” before you could register Daichi’s two youngest siblings came running in and jumped at you,” Y/N, we missed you. Are going to stay for dinner?” his sister asked, as his brother still was hugging you,” Where is Mom?” Daichi asked peeling his brother off you,” Cooking dinner, Dad is helping her”. Daichi gave your hand a squeeze before walking with you towards the kitchen.
“Daichi, your back where did-” Daichi’s mom began but stopped once seeing you and your tear-stained face.” Honey, what happened?” she asked worriedly making Daichi’s dad turn as well.” Mom, Dad, we have something to tell you” Daichi began as you clang to his arm, Daichi took a deep breath,” Y/N parent’s kicked her out because....because she is pregnant and, and we are planning to keep the baby,” Daichi said, silence filled the room, only the sound of the rice cooker filled the room. “ I’m so sorry for ruining your son's life but-”,” Honey you didn’t ruin anything, I won’t say I’m happy about this but what happened happened and we can't change that,” she said walking over to you and drying your tears. Meanwhile, Daichi’s dad still stayed quiet, which made both of you nervous,” Y/N, did my son force you to have sex with him without a condom? Or what happened?” he asked taking you back,” No, sir. Daichi collapsed to the floor, panting heavily after finishing his hill sprint. The others weren't doing any better either, the girls and you were handing out water bottles and towels for the boys. I’m more worried about you guys, think you manage another couple of hours of training?” you asked,” Hinata had a point, if we want to go to nationals we need to keep going,” Daichi said making the others nod,” You can go home though if you get tired,” Daichi said stroking your cheek with his index finger,” No, I stay until the end. A few days before the tournaments, Daichi was bouncing around like crazy,” Dai, is everything alright?” you asked putting your hand on your belly,” The last tournament we had we lost... if we lose again. It’s over... I won't be able to play with them again.... like this I mean, in a tournament setting. Having this in the back of your mind makes me nervous” he admitted,” Oh Daichi, you will make it. I have a good feeling about it” you said wrapping your arms around his waist and pulling him closer to your body,” And don’t you want to tell our son of Karasuno’s great rise from wingless crows to champions?” you teased making him smile, and picked you up by the legs and wrapped them around his waist,” Hey” he said with a fake hurt in his voice,” Even if you lose, you are far from the wingless crows. I believe in the team that they make it, Hinata will make sure of it” you joked at the end making Daichi laugh and fall backwards onto the bed.” Sorry for disrupting” Daichi’s mom's voice piped up behind you,” I’m wondering if you want to start decorating the baby's room? You have the tournament soon and your seven months already-”,” Yeah, I would love that” you smiled,” I text the others if they want to join” Daichi said, gently pushing you off him to get to his phone.

Omg this is amazing” you gasped pulling out the knitted blanket, it was black and orange and rather large, it must have taken her ages to do as there were no mistakes in sight like it was done by a professional,” Karasuno brought you two together and the team from both for cheerleading and volleyball wear these colours so I thought it was a nice fit” she said rubbing her neck,” I love it. Thank you” you hugged her tightly when you felt another kick against your stomach,” Wow, even I felt that,” Michmiya said with wide eyes,” Don’t tell Daichi though, he hasn’t kicked once while Daichi was touching the belly, made him all pouty,” you said putting the blanket with the other gifts, Michimiya was about to say something when loud screaming from familiar boys cut her off,” Haha, I win to take that Kageyama” Hinata smiled triumphantly,” I didn't even try so I basically gave you this win” Kageyama snapped making the oragend boy stick his tongue at,” Boys, no fighting” you scolded them,” You don't want Daichi to get mad so close before the competition?” you said making the two boys jump. “ Getting who mad?” Daichi said appearing behind you, wrapping his arm around your waist and giving Michimiya a nod as a greeting before turning to the two troubled first years,” Where two fighting again?” he said narrowing his eyes at them,” No of course not” Hinata said shaking his head quickly,” Good, come on. The others are waiting” Daichi said closing the door behind them as they quickly threw their shoes off and placed them where the others put their shoes.
“Okay, what in the plan for today?” Suga asked,” We did think of doing an ocean/ galaxy theme but we just might scrap and let you do what you want... within a child-friendly sphere,” Daichi said while staring at Tanaka and Noya,” Why are you looking at us for?” Tanaka said,” No penises. Got it or I make you run towards Tournaments,” he said making the two second-years nod quickly,” Ennoshita will make sure of that,” he said making the other 2nd-year nod. “Well let’s get started then” you smiled kissing Daichi’s jaw and making him smile down at you.

Daichi looked at the timetable and looked for Karasuno” So who are you playing first?” you asked wrapping your arms around his waist and placing your chin on his shoulders to look at the sheet with all the teams on it,” Ohgiminami High” he said grabbing your hand, his hand was slightly sweaty,” You will do amazing” you kissed his shoulder blade making him relax slightly,” Come on let’s get you warmed up”. you said walking towards the others,” Who is it we are playing Captain?”,” Ohgiminami High” he answered Ukai,” Well speaking of the devil. Here they come” Ukai said nodding towards a group of boys wearing a white blue shirt,” Those are high schoolers? The next day Daichi and you just arrived at school when Takeda approached you,” Y/N, I need to talk to you” he said, he looked nervous, you and Daichi exchanged looks,” Is everything okay?” you said cautiously,” Unfortunately no, it seems your grades have been slipping and the principal isn’t happy about it. He wants you to be removed from the club and focus on your grades”, your eyes widen at his statement,” Y/N isn’t leaving the club” Daichi said making Takeda sigh,” I don’t want her to leave either but you are already on thin ice for the vice principal, you slipping in grades is just proving his point of you being not responsible and now that the club is slowly getting some recognition-“,” He doesn’t want to taint their image by having a pregnant and failing student in it” you cut your teacher off. Daichi grabbed your waist and pulled you closer to his body,” We will fix this, don’t worry baby. As promised you sat in Ukai’s store at the register, doing your maths homework and some extra questions given by the teacher. “Look whose back,” a cheery voice said making you look up from your book,” Oh hey Oikawa, how are things going?” you asked,” Practising, the tournaments are in a month and I’m planning to go nationals this time,” he said walking towards the milk bread and grabbing a couple of them,” Well, you have to beat Karasuno first and we have been improving,” you said grabbing his items and scanning them,” So I have heard,” he said handing you the money,” Talking about the club, shouldn't you be with them?” he asked,” I would but I’m failing both Japanese and maths, going to repeat the test to prove the vice principal wrong,” you said,” My sister had the same trouble, she missed a couple of classes due to always feeling sick or just being plainly tired,” Oikawa said,” Are you any good with this?” you asked pointing towards your maths books,” Usually Daichi helps me with my homework but I want him to focus on training... he did promise to win against you” you joked, Oikawa rolled his eyes in a playful manner, he stayed quite for a couple more seconds and than pulled a chair up which was close to him,” I try my best but I won't promise any miracles” he said.
Oikawa was surprisingly good at math, not as good as Daichi but he did help you understand the questions more. He even tried his hand at helping you with Japanese, with a bit less success but it didn't matter, Daichi will probably correct the mistakes like usually does. Talking about Daichi, he and the rest of the team were making their way to the shop,” I might be making things up because I’m too hungry but is y/n with Oikawa that buttweasle” Tanaka said gaining the attention of Daichi immediately,” It sure is” he said,” Don't be jealous Dai” Suga joked patting his friend on the back,” I’m not jealous” Daichi said making Suga laugh,” You look a bit pissed off my friend so not jealous my ass”,” Let’s kick his ass” Hinata shouted as was about to sprint towards the store if it wasn't for Ennoshita grabbing him by the collar,” He isn't doing anything” he said,” He’s talking to our precious y/n, that poor baby already exposed to someone this annoying” Tanaka said making Noya nod,” It was already exposed to two of you, so they already crossed that line” Tsuki said passing by the two with Yamaguchi,” Is he always a dick?”.

You meanwhile handed the others leftover meat buns.” Come on boys stop fighting, what happened to good sportsmanship?” you asked walking towards Daichi and Oikawa,” Here you must be hungry” you said handing Daichi food,” Thanks baby” he said kissing your cheek but his gaze never leaving Oikawa,” Grab your bag, we can finish your homework at home” he said,” I’m already done, Oikawa helped me. He’s surprisingly good, didn't think that pretty boy who only knows volleyball knows his way around maths” you joked punching his shoulder making Oikawa laugh,” You can thank Iwa for that” he said before you disappeared in the back room to get your stuff,” Okay, the group meeting is over lads. If you want to continue what feels like a dick measuring contest to that outside” Ukai said shushing the boys out of the shop,” Do like y/n or something?” Daichi asked making Oikawa scoff,” I already told you that my sister was in a similar situation. Y/N is pretty, funny and everything a boy wants but she is already someone's girlfriend and I respect that Captain. Soon you left the building,” Okay, everything is good. Let’s go” you smiled,” Oikawa said bye and to give him a call when you need anything” Daichi said handing you the number,” Thanks, that's nice of him..... Don’t be jealous Dai, he’s only a friend” you added noticing his facial expression, he didn't say anything which led you to tackle him to the ground, Daichi panicked and wrapped his arm around your body taking the brunt of the fall making him groan,” Why did you that? You need to be more careful Y/N, your pregnant remember-” Daichi said but you cut him off with your lips on his, your fingers grazed the hairs on his nape, making him groan softly,” Jesus Christ, not in front of my shop, you horny teens. The team was waiting for you to arrive at the gym, it has been nearly a week since you decided to focus on studying and working at Ukai’s shop.”What if she fails, who will take care of my wounds when I hurt myself” Tanaka said,” First she won’t fail, and second you barely get hurt in the first place. It’s mostly Hinata who needs to be fixed” Daichi said looking past Tanaka to the oranged-haired spiker,” It’s not my fault,” he said in his defence,” Well you could stop receiving with your face” Kageyama answered making Tsuki giggle. Daichi rolled his eyes, Daichi was about to say something when you ran into the room with your test in your hands,” I passed, I passed. It’s one of the best scores I got as well” you said happily waving around the paper in front of Daichi’s face making smile,” I’m so happy-”,” I never doubted you, our perfect y/n” Tanaka and Noya said simoustanly while falling to their knees and hugging your waist,” Thanks boys, can't have you die on the court” you joked patting both their heads,” Let go of her, you guys are running her uniform with your tears” Kiyoko scolded pulling them off you,” Kiyoko, your so pretty when you scold us” they then said before clamping themselves onto Kiyoko.
