can we please get some of murdoc's lil daughter helping the rest of the gang surprise her dad for his birthday 🙌🏼🙏🏽
Of course! Only the best for our favorite bassist~
Side note: THIS IS SO MUCH LONGER THAN I THOUGHT LMAO HAPPY BIRTHDAY MURDOC!
“Mudz! Come on, we’re gonna be late!” Noodle crossed her arms, huffing as she blew her bangs out of her eyes. For Murdoc’s birthday, she was tasked with keeping him out of the house all day– so she had plenty of interviews and shoots set up to keep him busy. Russel and 2D would be staying back at the house with Lilith, who wanted to throw her dad a surprise party. Russel had been tasked with cooking, as the little girl quickly learned that her blue-haired uncle was not the best chef. 2D would instead decorate– “You can reach tall places!” Lilith had gestured around to the corners of the house. “That’s where the streamers go.”
“Alright, geez.” Murdoc came downstairs, slipping his jacket over his shoulders. “They couldn’t have scheduled these damn things a different day?” He grumbled, looking around for his daughter so he could say goodbye.
“Daddy!” Lilith came bounding out of the kitchen, arms held out for a hug. Murdoc easily caught her and scooped her up into his arms, kissing her temple.
“There’s my little hellraiser.” Lilith giggled at the nickname. “Do you know what today is?”
“Your birthday!” She clapped, a mischievous smile forming on her face. “You’re oooooold.” At this, Murdoc rolled his eyes, kissing her again before setting her back down. Noodle had to excuse herself outside because she was laughing so hard.
“Yeah, thanks for reminding me kid. We’ll be back later, okay? Stay here with your uncles.” Murdoc ruffled his daughters dark locks before following Noodle out the door. Before it could close, Lil ran to the door.
“Ahem!” She stamped her foot as watched her father turn back, shouting a “love you!” to her before sticking his tongue out at her. Letting the door close behind her, Lilith ran back into the kitchen. “He’s gone! We gotta start now Uncle Russ!”
2D laughed from where he sat at the island in the middle of the room. “Calm down there, little one.” He shook his head, gesturing for her to sit with him. “Ya gotta finish ya breakfast first.”
As the morning turned into afternoon, Lilith had been making a card for Murdoc so they didn’t have to go try and find one. She’d had to restart a few times though, since she misspelled ‘birthday’ and didn’t like her drawing. “How’s it going Lil?” Russel peeked over his shoulder. He was currently making the frosting to put on the cake– trying to make a nice turquoise color was not as easy as it appeared.
“Almost done!” She finished coloring in the heart she had drawn (with a little help from 2D) and held it up for her uncle to see.
“Very nice!” Russ gave her a thumbs up, turning back to his still too green frosting. He accidentally squirted more drops of food coloring into the bowl than he wanted because of 2D’s unexpected screaming. Before he could react, Lilith was out of the room, ready to save her other uncle from whatever thing had hurt him.
Turns out, 2D screamed over a slightly-bigger-than-normal spider that ‘came out of nowhere.’ He picked Lilith up so she could reach the bug, letting her pick it up before shooing her toward the door to let it outside. “It’s just a spider, Uncle Stu! Just wants to eat other bad buggies.” She smiled at it before setting it down in the bushes outside the door.
2D rubbed his hands over his face, shaking off the fright the insect had given him. “Now that it’s gone, ya wouldn’t mind helping me a little more, would ya?” He held up the roll of tape he had been sticking streamers up with.
After wrapping the presents and decorating the cake, it was time to wait. Something Lilith absolutely hated doing. “Uncle Russsssss,” She whined, pulling on his arm and twisting around on the floor. They had finished setting everything up about 20 minutes ago, Noodle letting them know they would be home soon and that she’d let them know when they were pulling into the driveway. “How much loooonger?” She let go of him, flopping onto the floor in a heap. She had never been a patient child, something she definitely inherited from Murdoc.
“Shouldn’t be much longer.” He checked his phone again, his eyes lighting up when a message from Noodle appeared. “They’re back! Quick, go wait over on the stairs.” He smiled as she dragged 2D with her by the pant leg.
“I’m comin’! No need to drag me like that.” 2D shook his head, smiling at his niece. Out of everyone in the band, Stu was happiest that Lilith came to live with them– she was making Murdoc a *somewhat* better person and for that he was grateful. While she may be a clone of her father, she was much more gentle and kind.
Noodle bit her lip to suppress the grin that so desperately wanted to form on her face as she looked up at the darkened windows of Kong. She turned to see Murdoc flick what was left of his cigarette on the ground, giving her an odd look. “What’s with you?” He raised his eyebrow.
“Oh nothing! I’m just happy to be back. I can finally get some food in me.” She led him up the walkway, choosing to ignore whatever he was mumbling under his breath. She opened up the door, grinning into the darkness.
“What the-? Why’s it so damn dar–” Murdoc’s hand flew in front of his eyes as the lights suddenly turned on, blinding the ever living hell out of him.
“Surprise!” The four of them cheered. Murdoc glanced around to see streamers and balloons hung up around the room and in the kitchen. He grinned at his bandmates and daughter, laughing as she ran to him.
“Were you surprised?” Lilith smiled, throwing her arms around his neck. He nodded, kissing the side of her head before looking back at the band.
“You lot did this for little ol’ me?”
“It wasn’t our idea.” 2D nodded toward Lilith, who hid her blushing in Murdoc’s neck. “Now come on, Russ made food and I can’t wait to eat it anymore.”
Oh, how badly Noodle wanted to push Murdoc’s face into the cake. Her hand’s twitched as she tried to hold back, wanting him to at least read what it said on top. “Really? ‘You’re old?’” Murdoc chided them and shook his head, grumbling about how he didn’t need to be reminded.
“I’M DOING IT!” Noodle pushed his head into the cake, laughing as she scurried away from his grasp. Lilith couldn’t help the fits of laughter that fell from her lips as she joined her aunt on the floor, who was holding her stomach from laughing so hard. 2D, who was sat next to Mudz, began to slowly scoot away in fear of his wrath. To everyone’s surprise, Murdoc sat up– frosting covering his face and in his hair– and laughed. He was only laughing because he knew exactly how he was getting Noodle back. Murdoc wiped the frosting from around his eyes, quickly grabbing the woman and running out the back door. Lilith and her uncles watched from the window as Noodle desperately tried to hang onto him, screaming as she was thrown into the pool behind her.
“Uh-oh.” Lilith ran screaming into the bathroom, knowing she was next. She watched from the crack under the door to see who came up to the door, making sure it wasn’t her father’s boots. Instead, she saw Russel’s sneakers appear. “Password?”
“Bubblegum.” Russel watched her peek outside, making sure it was just him. “Don’t worry– he’s gonna get washed off.” He winked, leading her out to where Mudz was bent over helping Noodle out of the water. Russel picked up the green man, tossing him in.
“What the fuuuuuuuck!” Murdoc screeched as he sank underwater, his middle finger being the first thing to come up.
“This one next!” Lilith pushed a long box across the floor, struggling with the weight. “I picked it out.” She grinned up at her father as she finally got the box in front of him. As he flipped the lid on the box, his eyes landed on a beautiful purple bass. When he picked it up, it glittered in the light and almost seemed to turn black.
“This is perfect!” Murdoc grabbed his daughter and kissed her cheek, thanking her for the very thoughtful gift. “You did a good job, my little devil.” He looked back down to grab the card that was inside, seeing a picture of the five of them that Lilith had drawn just for him.
“Ha! My card is better than the one you got, ‘D.” He stuck his tongue out at the singer, who flipped him off.
“Thank you all for these lovely gifts. Really, I mean it.” He held Lilith just a little closer, smiling at his bandmates. His odd little family might not be much, but to Murdoc, he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Murdoc as a single dad and he's raising an adorably shy 5 year old girl. Can be sad or fluffy I'd love either one pwease~
Alright nonnie, this is gonna be a long one for ya, so let's get into it~
I realized after I wrote this how often I go to baths when writing about small children cause it isn’t something they can necessarily do themselves lmao why am I like this
-The day Murdoc’s daughter showed up on his doorstep, he thought it was a joke his ex was pulling. He’d known about his daughter and frequently would visit and shower her with gifts. “Where’s your mum?” He’d asked her, taking her inside Kong. Behind her, she pulled a suitcase bigger than she was, a massive backpack strapped across her back. (D/N) pulled the bag off her back, digging around a moment before finding a letter that her mother had written just for him. Murdoc took it and furrowed his brow, asking Russ to take her and the bags up to her room. His daughter always loved Russel, she said he gave the best piggy back rides. With her being on the shy side, Russel was one of the few people that she was comfortable being around.
- “Murdoc, I’m dropping off (D/N) for you– she’s your problem now. She’s too much like her goddamn father and I can’t stand it anymore. No matter what I do, clearly I’m not fit to be a mother. Don’t try to contact me– I won’t answer and I never want to see you again. Either of you.”
-Oh he was fucking livid. No one just tosses a child away like that. Murdoc crumbled up the letter, making his way into the kitchen with his lighter in hand. 2D was sitting at the island in the middle of the room, watching him as he moved. “Mudz?” He tilted his head slightly, watching the angry bassist light the paper on fire over the sink. “What’s happened?” Murdoc just shook his head, leaning over the sink, watching the letter burn. The heat of the small fire was no match for the burning hatred he felt for his ex.
- “How the fuck could she do that to my daughter?!” Murdoc smacked the counter, causing 2D to jump in his seat. He turned to the singer, angry tears starting to pool in his eyes. 2D had never seen Murdoc like this– it honestly scared him a bit. Mudz fell back against the counter, sliding to the floor while pushing his fists to his eyes. “How could she just…dump her?”
-MUDZ IS A FUCKING WRECK MY GUY. 2D HAS NO CLUE WTF TO DO CAUSE MURDOC IS USUALLY A DICKHEAD.
-2D carefully went over, taking a knee in front of him. “What’s goin’ on, man? Talk to me.” He listened carefully as Murdoc explained what had just happened and how his daughter was just upstairs with Russel, hopefully preoccupied. The singer sat across from his friend, rubbing the back of his neck as he processed everything. “God…that’s fuckin’ awful.” He looked back at Murdoc to see he was glaring at him slightly– the tears were gone, having been rubbed away. “Don’t worry, Mudz! You’re a great dad.” 2D shot him a smile, giving him a light punch on the knee. “We’ll help ya out when ya need it. Guaranteed (D/N)’s happier here than she was with that wench.” At that Murdoc smiled a little, allowing 2D to help him back up on his feet.
-Murdoc didn’t do this often, but he knew when it was needed. This was one of those times. “Thanks ‘D.” He ruffled the singer’s hair, leaving him to his own devices so he could go spend some time with his daughter.
-As the day came to an end, Murdoc had been spending every moment with (D/N). He had given her a bath earlier, watching her fondly as she made bubble mountains and hats. Noodle had made her night when she brought in a bright pink bath bomb as the tub had been filling up. Murdoc’s daughter watched in awe as the bath bomb swirled around in the water. After the tub was bright pink and bubbles were nearly overflowing over the sides, she had given him a bubble hat and beard, giggling uncontrollably when Murdoc blew raspberries on her arms and shoulders, effectively getting bubbles everywhere.
- “Daddyyyyyyy stooooooop!” She batted her hands at him, trying to get him to stop tickling her. As she flailed her arms around, she ended up hitting him directly in the eye. Gasping, she covered her face with her hands, but peeked out from between her fingers. “Sowwy.” She watched as her father rubbed his eye, a frown plastered on his face. He let her think he was really hurt, waiting until she reached out to him to grab her up with the towel. “Daaaaad!” She squealed, throwing her little arms around his neck.
-It may not seem like it, but Murdoc tried to be the best father that he could be. Behind closed doors, he was incredibly caring and very protective of his own. When it came to his daughter, there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for her. He made sure she was happy and that she had everything she needed. If she was upset, Murdoc would do anything in his power to put a smile on her face, even if it meant putting his own problems and work aside. The fans might not realize it, but he had cleaned up his act once he had a kid. He settled any deals or debts he had made and made sure that nothing would ever put (D/N) in harm’s way.
-Murdoc had just finished helping (D/N) put her pjs on and was tucking her into bed when she sat back up. She looked at him with her big doe eyes– just like her mother’s. Murdoc shook his head slightly as if it would help make the thought go away. “What’s the matter, love?” He watched as his daughter looked down at his hand, putting her own against it. Compared to Murdoc, her skin had only the slightest hint of green to it– something that would darken and become more prominent as she grew.
~HERE COMES THE WICKED SAD BITS BUCKOS~
- “Daddy,” A frown formed on her face as she traced the lines of his palm lightly. “Why did mommy not want me?” Murdoc’s tiny, shrivelled up heart broke into a million pieces at the question. Having no right words to say, he scooped her up in his arms, stroking her hair and rocking her.
- “She didn’t want me either baby.” He muttered with a frown, kissing the top of her head. He held her as she cried, continuously rubbing her back and kissing her forehead. He really didn’t know what to say, he just knew that from then on, he would be the best parent for her possible.
-Standing up with her balanced on his hip, he grabbed her pillow to bring with them. He walked down the hall with her, her blanket trailing along behind them, and brought her into his own bedroom. He could tell she would end up asleep with him anyway. He tucked her into the far side of the bed that was against the wall, knowing that she had a tendency to roll and didn’t want her to fall off and hurt herself.
-He had just climbed into bed and (D/N) was already curled into his side, her fist clutching his shirt tightly. “Love you.” She mumbled, rubbing at her eyes with her free hand. Murdoc wrapped an arm around her, dragging his fingers up and down her back till she began to drift off to sleep.
- “I love you too, sweetheart. To the moon and back.”
omg that dad!murdoc was AMAZING i've already read it 3 times !!! if you're taking requests PLEASE write more murdoc & his little daughter!!!! 💚💚💚
Aww thank you nonnie! I actually based the daughter off a Gorillaz OC that I made for a tag on musical.ly! So to go off of that, Murdoc’s daughter will now be called Lilith, of course!
-As time went on, Lilith became more comfortable with everyone at Kong. While she still adored Russel, she was beginning to hang around 2D and Noodle more– especially when the pair agreed to play dress-up with her. She loved that 2D would always accept the tutus she threw at him, taking the matching tiara and wearing both proudly.
- “2D,” Murdoc would shake his head, laughing. “You look like such a dork.” He would then be smacked in the leg by his daughter, rolling his eyes as he took the crown she held out to him. He put it on his head, glad that she had at least given him the king’s crown.
“Daddy’s gotta be king.” Lilith would mutter to Noodle as she began to hand her numerous necklaces and bracelets from her toy box.
-This of course would boost the man’s ego a bit, sticking his tongue out at Russel, who was currently sat on a very tiny child’s plastic chair. It was quite surprising that the thing hadn’t broken yet– even Russ himself was surprised. “Lil, do I have to sit on your chair? I don’t want to break it on ya.” He asked the small girl, shifting awkwardly in his seat.
- “YESSSSSSSSS.” She would throw her head around dramatically to look at him, giving him that signature Niccals glare. “If you want to be part of the tea party, you gots to sit in a chair.”
-Half way through the tea party, the chair did end up breaking. Murdoc laughed pretty fucking hard.
- “Princess Lilith,” Noodle held out her cup for 2D to fill with water. “What do you say about a trip to the park once we finish with tea?” She would thank her bandmate and sip daintily, just as Lilith had taught them all.
-Lilith would excitedly bounce in her seat, looking across the table at her father. “Can we, can we?!” After getting a confirming nod from Murdoc, she hurriedly finished the water that was in her cup. “We’re done! Park, park, park!” She threw all her dress-up clothes back into her box, Russel being a little startled by her outburst.
-As Murdoc went to take off the crown, his daughter quickly stopped him with a bat of her hand. “You have to wear it.” She crossed her arms, a frown forming on her face. Wow, she really is just like me. Mudz thought, a small smile gracing his features. “I mean it daddy.”
“Okay, okay.” He held up his hands in defeat, placing her tiara back on her dark locks. “Then you have to match.”
-Russel and 2D opted to stay behind, having promised to bake brownies for Lilith earlier in the day. She was veryyyyy excited about those; “Russ is the best at baking.” She was telling Murdoc one night– of course, he already knew this, but allowed his daughter to carry on with her rambling about her day.
-Once at the park, Lilith pulled Noodle toward the swings– her favorite part of the park. Murdoc pulled out his phone, snapping a picture of the two before heading behind his daughter’s swing. He pulled her back by the chains, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek. “Need a push, princess? Hold on tight!” He grinned as she began laughing the higher she went.
- “Hey, Princess Noodle needs a push too.” Noodle grinned at him, wiggling her feet just above the ground.
“You’ve got long legs, push yourself.” He rolled his eyes at her smartass smirk, continuing to push Lilith.
- “Daaaaad,” Lilith was jostled slightly as Murdoc caught her swing to stop her for a moment. “You gotta be a gent…gent…”
“Gentleman.” Noodle finished for her.
“Yeaaaaah.” Lilith stuck her tongue out at her father, who then pushed her again so she could continue swinging.
-Murdoc was grumbling under his breath, pushing both Noodle and his daughter, moving back and forth between the two swings. The two girls were laughing and having a good time, which did ultimately make Mudz happy.
-He absolutely hated when his little girl was sad. Well, either one of them really, since Noodle was technically his little girl once too. Though he didn’t worry about Noodle as much now, seeing as she was an adult who could handle herself fine.
-After a few hours of playing at the park and eating a handful of Russ and 2D’s brownies, Lilith was ready for bed.
-But did she tell her dad that? No. She insisted that she wasn’t tired and headed up to her room to play with her dolls.
-After not hearing a peep from her room for a while, Murdoc quietly opened the door to her room, finding her propped against her toy box, sound asleep. It was then that he noticed how her skin had just become a little bit more green– she probably got a bit of a tan while they were out at the park.
-He shook his head, smiling as he picked her up gently. He laid her in her bed, tucking her blanket in around her chin, just how she liked it. “Goodnight Lil.” He kissed her forehead and walked back out of the room, turning off her light as he went. Murdoc turned back to look at his daughter fondly, wondering just how he got so lucky to have something so precious come into his wild life.
