"Zip up your jacket." Yondu scolded you flatly as he locked up the ship.
You ignored him and continued chattering about the winter festival that would be happening in the nearby town the next day and how excited you were to see the lights. "I read that the trees look like mini nebulas they're so bright!"
Yondu had decided to take the crew on the rare vacation that wasn't on Contraxia. Currently most of his men were in the town drinking it up and the two of you were heading to join Kraglin and Peter by an out-of-the-way ice-fishing hole that Yondu was familiar with. He had sent them ahead to set up while he and you stayed back to repair your collapse-able fishing rod.
Yondu knew the repair would have actually only needed maybe five minutes to complete, but hey, it got him out of having to saw holes in the frozen lake and he knew you wouldn't complain either.
Now the two of you were on your way to join them, following the tracks they had left in the snow.
"Eh- probably exaggerated to bring in tourists," Yondu said, responding to your earlier comment about the lights.
"Can't you let yourself be excited for once?" you half-whine, half-tease.
Yondu glanced at you with a grin. "Nope."
You playfully punch him in the arm.
He returned your playful punch, and told you again to zip up your jacket.
Again you ignored him, a mischievous grin forming on your lips as you allowed yourself to fall behind in your pace just long enough to quickly grab some snow from the ground before recovering your pace to rejoin him at his side.
You turn the subject towards a job you knew was coming up after this vacation would be over, asking about the planet it was to be set on. This, of course, was just a means of distraction before you enacted your mischief. Nothing big. Just a little snow down his back... heck, you could probably blame one of the trees overhead for it.
Yondu starts to answer, and you think you're in the clear to pull off your prank, but the second you go to raise your arm he reaches out and grabs your wrist, making your hand open on instinct and drop its snow.
He turns to you with an eye roll and a smirk, still holding your wrist. "Did you really think I wouldn't notice? You gotta be sneakier than that, kid."
It takes a second for the shock to wear off, but once you recover you return his smirk with one of your own. "Or have a good backup plan!" and with that you swung your other hand up over his shoulder and shoved the other handful of snow you had grabbed down the back of his coat, sure that you possibly even made some of it go down into the back of his shirt.
Yondu's eyes widened and he recoiled as soon as the cold hit his skin, immediately releasing your wrist so he could reach back and attempt to fish out any un-melted snow- though of course that was a lost cause.
In the meantime you just stood there, laughing your ass off.
After a moment Yondu turns back toward you and narrows his eyes. "Betcha thought that was real funny, didn't ya? Real proud of yerself, ain't ya?"
Still giggling, you nod. However, your giggling slows once you notice the look on his face.
He steps towards you and just glares at you for a moment. By now you had stopped giggling and started to wonder how many toilets he was gonna make you clean back on the Eclector for your little stunt.
The silence hung for a good couple moments before Yondu spoke. Eyeing you, a playful smirk played on his features as he asked, "Thought I told you to zip up your jacket?"
You only just had time to look down before Yondu lunged for you, his hands quickly flying past your open jacket, latching onto your ribs, and sending you into hysteric laughter as you tried to fight him off.
You squealed out a "No! No fair!" as he continued to tickle the snot out of you.
"I think it's more than fair, missy!" he laughed. "You ignored me twice about zipping up your jacket, and then you shoved snow down my back! Far as I'm concerned that's three strikes against ya right there! If anything I'd say I'm going soft on ya!" with that he moved his hands up to tickle under your arms, which practically made you scream as it was one of your worst spots.
"Sorry! I'm sorry!" you squeal out, grabbing his wrists, but unable to push him off you.
"Yeah, bet you're really sorry. Sorry that you got caught, and sorry that you didn't zip up your jacket when I told you too!" he laughed.
Through your hard belly laughter you manage, "I give! I give up! I'm sorry!"
"Ya gonna do it again?"
"No!"
Yondu finally released you. "That's what I thought. Now get your jacket zipped, it's cold out here."
Still giggly, you finally obey his command and zip up your coat. "That was so mean!" you whine, punching him in the arm again.
"Yeah, you deserved it, brat." He answered with a smile and pulled you into a side hug and ruffled your hair. "You're lucky I didn't decide to bury you in the snow and leave ya there."
You simply stick out your tongue in response, and after he playfully shoved you in the shoulder in response to that, the two of you continue on your way to meet the others at the fishing hole.
This week Peter gets an unexpected present from Yondu, and he realizes he isn't sure he's ready to be eighteen. You can read this chapter of Awesome Mix Vol. 1 on AO3 or fanfiction.net. If you do, please let me know what you thought!
Guardians of the Galaxy fanfic | Yondu x Reader, guest starring Peter
Summary: Based on this prompt from anon: "Reader gets drunk for the first time - like REALLY drunk - and Yondu does nooot like it"
Author's note: Title sucks but I couldn't think of anything better. I was actually drunk when I wrote most of this (it's when inspiration finally struck to fulfill the prompt lol) but I obviously finished and edited it sober. That being said, I feel an obligation to say that the things Reader does in this story aren't necessarily written from experience, I was just trying to think what the most embarrassing things you could do while drunk would be lol. Enjoy!

One thing was certain, and it was that Yondu was going to shove his arrow up his ravagers' collective asses.
Yondu had long suspected you wouldn't be able to handle your liquor ever since you became old enough to drink. He noticed how you always got tipsy after just one beer, however luckily, you always stopped after around two, so it had never really been a problem.
Until tonight, that is. Because everyone was celebrating a big score gone well and Peter thought it'd be fun for you to take shots with him and the guys.
Now Yondu had to deal with you being drunk off your ass.
He had pulled Peter aside and growled at him to knock it off earlier that night after he noticed you taking the first shot, saying, "The girl can't handle her liquor, boy! Don't be giving her any more, ya hear me?"
This was met with Peter calling Yondu overprotective, but he ultimately conceded and swore that he wouldn't give you anymore shots.
But Yondu hadn't said anything about Oblo, Tullk, or Horuz, had he?
The others thought it was real funny how giggly and expressive you'd get when drunk, so it didn't take much convincing from Peter for them sneak you shots when Yondu wasn't looking.
By the time Yondu noticed what had happened he was pissed.
He marched over to where you sat next to the guys. You were laughing your ass off at a dumb joke Tullk made, and you were surprised when you saw him and the other three jump up and high tail it out of the way without explanation.
Then Yondu sat in front of you.
"Heyyy!" you giggled, playfully shoving the captain in the shoulder. "Wassup?"
Yondu's eyes narrowed. "How much did you have?"
"What?"
"How much to drink, girl. I know they were giving ya shots, how many?"
You giggled and pretended to look yourself over. "I dunno what ya mean, I haven't been shot." You then preceded to laugh your ass off at what you thought was a hilarious joke.
"PETER!" Yondu snarled, looking around but unable to find the Terran. Kraglin happened to be walking by just then so he settled for pulling him in to see if he could answer the question. "Krags, did'ya happen to see how many she had?"
Kraglin was startled at having been suddenly jerked towards the two of you, but he answered as honestly as he could. "I'm not exactly sure, Cap, but I think I did notice her have at least four? Maybe five? Why?"
Yondu released the first mate's sleeve and sighed, massaging the bridge of his nose. "Dammit. I'm gonna kill Quill." he said, before standing and pulling you up from your seat. "Come on. Yer going to bed." he said gruffly.
"Aw! But I don't want to!" you whined as he dragged you from the bar, unable to even really walk straight.
"Tough." Yondu said. "I don't like ya getting drunk like this. It ain't good fer ya. You'll only get into trouble."
"But ya let the other guys!" you pouted as the doors swung shut behind you and Yondu.
"They can handle it. Ya can't." he said flatly. Almost as if on cue you stumbled and almost brought the two of you down. This caused you to giggle madly as Yondu lost his grip on you.
"Catch me if you can!" you squeal in delight as you take off down the corridor.
Yondu swore under his breath as he ran after you. He might've called his arrow to stop you in your tracks, but he was worried that your drunk ass would accidentally run into the flarkin thing if he stopped it in front of your face to halt you.
Luckily for him you weren't exactly fast in your drunken state and he caught you quickly, grabbing you about the waist and pulling you back.
You squeaked at the contact, batting him away. "That tickles! Don't!" you giggle, squirming away.
Yondu rolled his eyes and sighed, moving his hands to instead rest on your shoulders as he steadied you.
The next couple minutes were relatively quiet, you were just softly giggling and babbling about nonsense while Yondu kept guiding you down the corridor to your quarters.
You were about halfway there when you were hit with a sudden and bad urge to pee. "Wait a sec." you drunkenly slur to your guide and before Yondu could even react you had already pulled down your pants and had squatted to take a piss in the damn hallway.
Once Yondu realized what was happening he jerked back and looked away, both not wanting anything to splash back on him, and also obviously not interested in looking, grateful that your jacket had blocked anything he might have seen before he reacted and looked away. He pinched the bridge of his nose as his face flushed with embarrassment and irritation at the situation, but there wasn't exactly a whole lot he could do about it in the moment, it had just happened so quick. He waited until he heard you stand up before looking back.
"I can't believe ya just pissed on my floor." he grumbled, side-stepping the mess and calling up Kraglin to send someone down to clean the ... "spill..." in the corridor leading towards the crew quarters.
He finally got you to your quarters and ushered you inside so you could sleep it off. He started to nudge you towards your bed when you suddenly announced you were going to be sick.
Yondu's eyes went wide, and not wanting a similar incident like what had happened in the hallway he quickly ripped a nearby trashcan from the floor and shoved it towards you.
After you had finished vomiting you placed the trashcan back on the floor and stumbled back into a seated position on the bed. "I don't feel well..."
"Gee, I wonder why." Yondu said bitterly, arms crossed over his chest. "Ya need to go to bed."
Just then your eyes flew open and you dumped yourself onto the floor, pulling the trashcan back towards you as you began to vomit again.
Yondu sighed. If anyone were to ask him about what he did next he'd deny it. He knelt down next to you and gently pulled your hair back so that you wouldn't get sick into it, and there he stayed for a good bit while you emptied the contents of your stomach.
When you had finally finished you sat up and leaned your back against your bed. Then, almost as if noticing Yondu for the first time you leaned into him and hugged him tightly.
He was almost warmed by the gesture, but then to his chagrin, you started bawling.
He made a grimace but returned the hug tentatively, occasionally giving gentle pats to your back with a "There, there." not really knowing what else to do.
Well, except for one thing. He glanced up to see the door was still opened, and without disturbing you too much from your places on the floor, he kicked it closed. No way in hell was one of his crew going to walk in on this scene and see him being all soft and shit. No way.
Eventually you did start to quiet down and then Yondu attempted to gently prod you into standing up so you could get into bed. Unfortunately for him, you only mumbled nonsense and nuzzled in closer like he was a damn teddy bear or something. So, he gently pried your arms away from him so he could stand up before helping you to your feet.
He had gotten you halfway into bed when it happened. You got sick again. Only this time you didn't use the trashcan. You got sick on him.
Yondu's stomach churned but he kept it together, Taking a not-so-deep breath (because of the smell) to keep himself from angrily setting off. There'd be plenty of time to yell at you in the morning, he reasoned.
He quickly put you the rest of the way in bed and luckily you seemed to fall asleep the moment your head hit the pillow. However, not before mumbling out a, "Night, dad." Yondu raised an eyebrow in surprise, but didn't give himself time to dwell on it. He was eager to leave and get cleaned up.
He was about a quarter of the way to his quarters when he came across a laughing group a ravagers cutting up and being silly in the corridors. It was Peter, Oblo, and Kraglin, and they all stopped laughing when they noticed both the murderous look on their captain's face and the mess of sick on his clothes as he approached.
Yondu didn't stop to talk. Merely glared at them as he made his way past. "Not. A. Word." he growled at their surprised faces.
They obeyed, but it didn't stop their giggles once they thought he was out of earshot and they put two and two together. You were really gonna get it in the morning, they thought.
***
The next morning Yondu gave extra cleaning duties to Peter and the other ravagers who got you plastered the night before. He didn't say it was punishment for what happened, after all it wasn't like there was a rule against it, but they still knew he was mad. He had woken them up at 5am to tell them to get started while everyone else slept in, after all.
He called you into his quarters shortly after and you made your way over hungover and groggy, the previous night mostly a blur.
You lightly rapped on his door to announce your presence and flinched when you were met with a loud "Come in! It's open!"
You opened the door and groaned as you entered the room that Yondu had made uncharacteristically bright by seemingly turning on every freaking light he had. Through squinted eyes you made out the form of your captain and you cringed again when he called out in a booming voice, "Have fun last night?" making your temples throb.
Basically, Yondu was being a dick.
You grunted in response and he spoke up again. "So, ya remember anything from last night?" he asked, randomly speaking certain words louder than they needed to be, just to make you further regret your hangover.
You rubbed a hand over your eyes and made another grunt while shrugging your shoulders.
"What was that? Couldn't hear ya." he said, a slight smirk playing over his lips.
You groaned and spoke up, "I dunno. Had some drinks with Peter and the guys, went to bed?" You honestly didn't know why he had to call you in so damn early. Whatever mischief you got up to with the guys couldn't have been that bad that this couldn't wait until noon.
"Oh hoho, no!" Yondu laughed almost bitterly, clapping his hands together with a loud pop that made you flinch in pain from the loud noise. "Ya did a lot more than that, missy."
You just stared up at him weakly, half not giving a shit & wishing to go back to bed and half worried you had done something either dangerous or embarrassing.
"I s'pose ya don't remember getting sick all over me?" he asked.
Your eyes flew wide, your former grogginess forgotten. Oh no. Please let him be joking. "I'm- so sorry." you stammered, both in embarrassment and in concern for how he was going to deal with you for that. Surely you wouldn't get off scot-free for vomiting on your captain. "I- sorry- I-" you didn't really know what to say. You had apparently thrown up all over your captain the night before. What could you say?
"Oh that ain't all." Yondu said in a tone that was obvious it was about to get worse.
Your stomach fell. What could possibly be worse than having drunkenly vomited on your captain? You could feel your cheeks turning pink as you cringed and asked, "Do I wanna know?"
"Prob'ly not, but I'm gonna tell ya anyway." Yondu said, his hands on his hips. "Ya remember when ya pissed in the hallway?"
Your face turned scarlet. "What?! Please tell me you're joking."
"Nope. Ya ripped yer drawers down and popped a squat right in the corridor."
You covered your burning face with your hands. That. That was what could be worse than throwing up on your captain- literally pissing on his floor in front of him. This was so humiliating, and it only got worse once you realized you probably did it in front of the rest of the crew too. You lowered your hands and asked, "Oh god. How many people saw??"
Yondu wanted to scare you a bit and tell you that you did it in front of the whole crew, but he saw tears start to form in your eyes and just couldn't bring himself to do it. "Lucky fer you, no one but me. Ya did it when I was dragging yer ass to your quarters to sleep it off. Ya didn't get sick on me til after that."
Oddly enough, that didn't make you feel much better. You tried to wipe the tears from your eyes. "God, I'm never drinking again."
Yondu scoffed with a laugh. "Yeah, I've heard that one before. Ain't no one who's ever said that follows through though," he chuckled. He expected you to laugh too, but he made a grimace when he saw how miserable you looked. "Aw, come here." he said, pulling you into a hug. "Look, everyone's done embarrassin' shit when they're drunk. It's just part of life. It ain't the end of the world."
You sniffed. "Even you?"
Yondu rolled his eyes and begrudgingly answered. "Ya brat. Even me." He could tell you wanted to ask, but he moved the conversation along, moving to hold you out at arm's length. "Better?"
You sheepishly nod and say, "I guess..."
"Good. Ya can be off then."
You looked at him in confusion. "You mean I'm not in trouble?"
Yondu laughed. "Well, from the look on your face, I thought the humiliation was punishment enough, but since ya asked I guess I can assign ya extra kitchen duties this week. Ya can fill in tonight through Thursday for Gef."
You grimaced but accepted your fate. "Yes, sir," you say before turning to leave his quarters.
Yondu chuckled and shook his head after you closed the door behind you, flipping off some of the unnecessary lights. There may be some hiccups now and then, but his not-so-little girl wasn't turning out too bad.
And even though he knew you'd deny it sober, he was proud you called him dad.
But he'd be damned if he let you drink with Peter again.
Imagine Kraglin hearing this god-awful, high-pitched screeching coming from the captain's quarters.
He hurries to look inside to see what's going on, assuming that Peter must finally be getting whipped for something. Judging by the noise he's thinking he might need to gently remind the captain that Peter is just a boy, despite also thinking it was about time he got disciplined for something.
Only when he gets there, Peter isn't getting a beating. Peter is squirming on the ground at the mercy of Yondu's fingertips, absolutely screeching in laughter and trying to fight Yondu off.
And once Yondu notices Kraglin's confused face in the doorway he's just like, "Kraglin, look what I can make the Terran do!"
Guardians of the Galaxy fanfic | Yondu x Reader, guest starring Peter, Kraglin, and Brahl.
Summary: Brahl’s an asshole, and makes Reader question if Yondu cares about her.
Author’s Note: Based off this prompt from @cas-kingdom. Not sure about title. Might change later
Word Count: 2,964
“Oh! Sorry dude!” You exclaim after knocking into Brahl, causing him to spill a hot drink down the front of himself, making him exclaim in pain. You had been looking for Yondu and in your haste didn’t pay attention as you turned the corner, and this was the result.
Brahl looked pissed.
“Ah- um, is this a bad time to ask if you’ve seen Yondu?” you asked nervously. “I needed to tell him-”
“Don’t bother looking for him, bitch!” he spat, interrupting you. “You really think he wants to see you or hear whatever bullshit you want to tell him? He don’t give a shit about you! In fact he just told me the other day how annoying you are, always wantin’ to talk about shit!” He was lying, of course, no such conversation had happened, but you didn’t know that. He was just angry how Yondu was always soft on you and Peter and how you two always seemed to get away with everything. “Just go back to your chores!” he said angrily, and with that stormed off, no doubt to find some clothes that weren’t coated in a scalding liquid.
You could feel your face growing red and hot tears threatening to spill from your eyes. You quickly turned away and walked back the way you came, hoping no one else noticed. Was Yondu really annoyed with you? Did he really not like you?
While you were absorbed in your thoughts you almost missed that Yondu was walking down the corridor towards you with Kraglin. You quickly avoided his eyes and hastily turned off into another hallway, walking quickly to the next turn so that he wouldn’t be able to find you, assuming he tried. You didn’t want him to see you were upset, or worse, possibly see that he didn’t care. This meant you had to take the long way round to get to your quarters, but if it meant you wouldn’t run into Yondu you supposed it would be worth it.
When you finally reached your quarters you flopped down on your bunk, not bothering to change for bed. Your heart felt heavy. You considered Yondu like a father, did he really not care for you? Were you really annoying him? Maybe you should give Yondu some space if he was mad at you?
Yeah, there was always the chance Brahl was lying just to hurt you, but what if he wasn’t? What if Yondu really didn’t give a shit about you?
You let these thoughts consume you until eventually you fell asleep.
The next day you continued to avoid Yondu. At breakfast you stayed at the other end of the mess hall instead of joining the table Yondu, Kraglin, and Peter usually sat at, grabbing a fruit and leaving the mess hall to eat it in your quarters as you got ready for your ravaging mission that morning.
Yondu took notice of this, but didn’t address it. Yes, it was odd, but maybe you just wanted an early start on the job so you could get back sooner. It was a simple job, but was still clear over on Arima, so it’d be at least two days before you got back even with the hyper-loops. He saw that Peter was nearly done with his breakfast and got his attention. “Hey, boy, did you have any jobs you were leaving for today?”
“Nope. I’m clear for a few days, why?” he asked.
“I want ya to join the girl on her job in Arima.”
“Why? I’m sure she can handle it.”
“‘Cause I said so, that’s why. If ya hurry up you can probably catch her before she leaves.” Yondu answered, not providing an explanation because he didn’t really have one. Not one he was willing to say, anyway. It was strange of you to not say anything to him before leaving to go on a job, and he wanted Peter to go with you just to make sure everything was fine. If something was weird with you, Peter would be sure to mention something when he got back.
Peter sighed but didn’t argue. He disposed of his tray and left to catch you before you left.
He caught you just as you were leaving your quarters, startling you as you walked out the door.
“Uh, hey? Did you need something?” you asked.
“Kinda. Yondu says I have to go with you on this job.”
“But I can really do it myself...?”
“Yeah, I know. I told him that too, but he was all like ‘Because I said so!’ so here I am. You know there’s no arguing with him,” he laughed.
You grinned slightly as well. “Fine then. Come on.” you relented, leading the way to the M-ship so you could leave.
On the way to the Docking Bay you had to pass through the common area on the ship, and noticed Yondu discussing something with Kraglin on the other side of the room by the large window.
Peter noticed you didn’t stop to say anything to him and spoke up. “Hey, aren’t you gonna tell Yondu we’re leaving?”
You continued walking, trying to get past before your captain saw you. “Nah, the quicker we leave, the quicker we can get back.” you said, trying to act nonchalant. “No need to waste time bothering him. He already knows I have to head out for a job today.” You really didn’t want to explain that you were avoiding Yondu or why.
Peter just shrugged and followed you out. He thought it was kinda weird that you didn’t want to take two minutes to tell Yondu you were leaving, but he let it go.
You didn’t really say much the whole flight over to Arima, lost in your thoughts as you piloted the ship.
Peter tried to start a conversation on multiple occasions, but never got more than a few words out of you each time. Assuming you were just tired, Peter turned on some tunes to fill the silence.
The job itself went just about as easy as Peter thought it might. He wasn’t really sure why Yondu made him come with you. You went right to the pickup location, grabbed the items you came for, and loaded them back on the ship before Peter could really even lift a finger.
Peter just stood there awkwardly as you finished up. Eventually he decided to speak. “Hey, you want to grab something to eat? It’s just as long a way back.”
You considered for a moment and then agreed, not exactly eager to get back right away. You could do with some procrastination.
Peter led the way to a restaurant he knew not too far off and together you grabbed a bite to eat. Again, he tried to make conversation, asking if you had anymore jobs this week. You told him that you didn’t yet, and that you wouldn’t really know about any others until you got back before you stared back off into space again.
“Ok, what gives?” Peter asked, nudging you in the arm to get your attention.
“What?”
“You’ve been a total space case all day!”
“No, I’m just... thinking.”
“About what?”
“It’s not important.” You try to brush him off.
“Sure. It’s so not-important that it’s been on your mind all day.” Peter retorted, taking a bite of his sandwich.
“Seriously it’s nothing,” you try, with a tone that told him to drop it. You were sure he’d think it was dumb, and part of you was afraid he’d either call you a baby, or worse, confirm what Brahl said.
“If it’s nothing then why are you blushing?” asked Peter with a smirk.
“I’m not blushing!” you bite back. It’s true, you weren’t, but you are now. “Just drop it.” You glared at him.
Peter rose his hands in defense. “Ok, Ok. I’ll drop it.” he laughed. “But you gotta take your mind off whatever’s bothering you, I’m sure it’ll be fine.” He was trying to goad you into telling him what was on your mind.
“Peter.” You gave him a warning look.
“Ok! I’m changing the subject!” He laughed, defeated. “Did you see the match between Captain Charisma and The Psycho the other night? It was intense!”
You sighed but indulged in his talk about wrestling for the rest of your meal. Wrestling wasn’t totally your thing, but it was nice to get your mind off of what Brahl had said. Afterwards you headed back to the M-ship for some sleep before flying back.
You were a bit more talkative on the way back, to Peter’s relief. He hated long silent flights, they felt awkward. However, as you were about to dock back on the Eclector you started to get silent again. Peter noticed, but he didn’t say anything, even once you were both off the ship and he watched you turn a corner that would have taken you out of your way for the direction you were heading just as Yondu entered the corridor from another hallway further up. Peter continued on to meet Yondu.
“When did you two get back?” asked Yondu, then asking Peter where you were.
“Just a bit ago,” answered Peter. “and I’m not sure where she is now, she broke off down on of those hallways a few moments ago.”
“Hmm. Alright.” said Yondu. He was starting to wonder if you might be avoiding him. He actually had seen you turn down the hall just after he had stepped into the corridor, but he didn’t let on. But why would you be avoiding him? Had you done something and were afraid of being scolded or punished? “Well, since yer here, boy, how did the job go?”
“It went super easy like I said. Like, boring easy. Still not sure why you wanted to send me along.” Peter answered.
“I’m the captain. I don’t need a reason.” Yondu stated sternly, before excusing himself to continue on his way. He would have asked Peter about you, but he didn’t want to look like he was concerned. Besides, he could always just ask you himself what was going on with you.
Or so he thought.
The next few days he could barely manage to track you down.
If he caught sight of you in a hallway, you’d have turned off into the next one before he could call out your name, much less catch you.
You hardly stayed more than a few minutes in the mess hall. If he caught sight of you there it was usually as you were heading out the door, taking something to go eat elsewhere.
By day three he sent Kraglin to track you down and bring you to him, but he came back after an hour empty handed. He said he finally caught up with you as you were doing one of your chores. However, once he said that he was sent by Yondu to fetch you, you sweetly said “I’ll be finished here in just a moment, just let me put this away.”
He waited fifteen minutes, and when he went to check what was taking you so long you had disappeared and he couldn’t find you again so he finally decided to come report back.
Well that confirmed it. You were definitely avoiding him. Even to the point of disobeying an order. Now he just needed to find out why.
***
It didn’t take long for word to get back to you that Yondu was looking for you, and he wasn’t happy. You knew that was bound to happen after you dodged Kraglin, but you just couldn’t face him right now.
You kept your distance from everyone on the ship, even Peter, afraid the crew might turn you in, or that Peter would insist to know what was up.
Since your chores were done you chose to hide in the engine room the rest of the evening, reading on your media pad.
When it was late enough that you knew most of the crew would be asleep you finally made your way back to your quarters where you knew you’d safe at least until morning.
Or so you thought.
When you opened the door to your quarters you were surprised to see Yondu standing inside. You startled and attempted to back out of the room but you only managed to back into Kraglin, who only looked at you sternly and made sure you walked into the room. Yondu nodded at him and he left, closing the door behind him and shutting you inside with Yondu.
You swallowed as he gave you a scolding look.
“Ya wanna tell me why ya disobeyed an order to meet with yer captain?” he said, crossing his arms.
“I-” you start, your voice wavering.
“I should give ya extra cleaning duties for a month just for that,” he interrupted, “but right now I wanna know why yer avoiding me.”
“I- I just...” You didn’t know how to say it. What if he just confirmed Brahl was right? That you didn’t matter to him and you were just some annoying brat that wouldn’t leave him alone?
Yondu interrupted again, his face stony. “I’d hope ya wouldn’t just avoid me for no reason, now. So, if there’s a reason, ya better say so now, girl. An’ it better be good. I think it’s damn disrespectful for my little girl to just hide from me without so much as a good reason.”
Wait. His... little girl? He called you his ‘little girl’?
You started to cry. You couldn’t stop it. You inhaled in an attempt to control yourself, but your eyes betrayed you, filling up and spilling over with tears. In a feeble attempt to hide it you looked away and covered your mouth.
Yondu’s face turned to surprise in an instant and then softened to concerned in another. “Hey, what’s this now? Why the tears? Girl, if somethin’ happened ya better tell me.” He closed the gap between you and enveloped you in an embrace.
You sniveled into his chest, “I’m sorry.”
“Girl, what ya sorry for? What’s happened?”
“It’s stupid. I-I just-I ran into Brahl the other day and spilled his drink on him and asked if he saw you and he got mad and said you didn’t wanna see me ‘cause I annoy you.” You said this all in one breath with your face still buried in his chest. Some of it was of course muffled, but he got the gist.
“Hmmm... did he now?” Yondu said thoughtfully, a hard edge to his tone.
You nodded your head and pulled away, wiping your eyes and embarrassed for crying.
“Ya listen here, girl.” Yondu began, “Ya don’t need to be listening to Brahl, ‘cause Brahl’s an idiot, ya hear?”
A smile and a short laugh cracked your face in humor at his words and you nodded, wiping the last bit of tears from your eyes.
“Oh, come here, girl,” he said, pulling you into a tight hug. “Ya know I care about ya, don’t ya?”
You nodded again and fresh tears started to form.
“Ah! None of that now!” said Yondu as he heard you start to sniffle again, pulling you out to arms length so he could look you in the eye. “There’s no need for that!” He tried to sound firm, as if he were scolding you, but in complete honesty he just couldn’t stand to see you cry. “Now look here, I’ll deal with Brahl. But I do still gotta give ya some extra cleaning duties for disobeying orders.”
“Really?” you said in a half whine. That sucked, but truthfully you were just glad to know Yondu did care for you, and that Brahl was a total asshat.
“Yes, really.” Yondu responded, a half-grin on his lips. “Can’t have the crew thinking I’m soft on ya now.” He pretended to think for a moment before adding, “But perhaps it’ll only last for a week or two.”
You grinned. He was totally soft on you.
“Now ya get yerself to bed. Yer coming with me on a supply run to Xandar tomorrow,” he ordered, giving you a quick wink on his way out.

A week later you were just finishing up the last of your extra chores when Peter found you.
“Hey, what’s up?”
“Did you hear about Brahl?” he asked, grinning.
You hadn’t heard anything, but you knew that Peter wasn’t fond of him, so that grin must mean something good. “No, what about him?”
“Yondu gave him a month of extra cleaning duties, including the latrines. Plus he’s been sending him out on the worst missions all week.” he laughed.
You grinned. “Wow, really? What did he do?”
“No one knows, Yondu never gave a reason, but whatever it was it must of pissed him off.” he laughed.
Just then Yondu’s voice could be heard shouting from behind Peter somewhere else on the ship.
“Ya call that clean, Brahl?! Do it again! It better be spotless when I come back. An’ hurry up. I got ya scheduled to leave for a job on Conjunction in an hour.”
You and Peter looked at each other and laughed. Jobs on Conjunction were usually profitable in the in-season, but this was off-season. Whatever the job was, it was bound to bring in little more than scraps. Plus the dessert climate absolutely sucked. Nobody wanted that job in off-season.
“Man, I don’t know what he did, but I really wouldn’t want to piss of Yondu that bad.” Peter laughed.
You laughed too, locking eyes with Yondu as he came into view. He grinned back and gave you a wink as he walked by.
You both knew exactly what Brahl did to deserve this.

"Who’s that?” Yondu asked from behind you, startling you into turning around.
“Oh- uh- this is just Lucas,” you respond, sheepishly, gesturing to the boy in front of you.
“Uh, hello, sir.” Lucas said just as nervously, but trying to feign confidence in the intimidating presence of Yondu. He extended his hand to shake, but awkwardly pulled back once it was clear that Yondu wasn’t going to take it.
“What’s he doin’ on my ship?” Yondu asked, his eyes narrowed as if inspecting the boy.
“Oh, well I met him in the market and I thought since we were docked here it might be cool to show him around...?” You winced as you finished your sentence, unsure now if you were going to be in trouble for bringing this boy aboard.
Yondu looked at you both in silence for a few moments, assessing the situation. It seemed you were smitten with the boy, and Yondu wasn’t sure he was exactly thrilled with that. However, he knew that if he forbade you to see him it would only make you act out and want him more. The wheels started turning in his head as he realized just what he could do about this, and a grin formed on his lips.
“Lucas, eh?” Yondu drawled, staring the boy in the eyes.
“Yes, sir?” Lucas looked at the captain wide eyed, and this amused Yondu.
“So ya like my little munchkin here, huh?”
You face immediately started to grow hot. No. Absolutely not. He was not doing this.
Lucas stammered and looked at you, unsure what to say, “I-uh... I think so.”
“You think so?” Yondu said in an accusatory tone.
Lucas tried to recover. “Ah, yes. Yes I do, sir.”
“I suppose I can see why, she’s a pretty little thing, isn’t she?” He said this with a shit eating grin as he reached forward to pinch your cheeks like a toddler. “Don’t ya think?”
You smacked him away and he almost burst out laughing at the death glare you gave him.
Lucas, however, looked like he didn’t know what to do. Was this a trap? If he said yes was this blue man going to hurt him for looking at you like that? If he said no would he be yelled at for insulting you? He chose the safe way out. “Yeah, she’s great. Seems really cool.”
“Yup. She’s definitely ‘cool.’” Yondu said, before adding, “Say, I should tell ya about this one time when she was a youngin-”
“OH-KAY...” You abruptly cut him off, waving your hand and moving in between Lucas and Yondu to face Lucas. “We should probably go-”
“Aw what’s the matter, pumpkin?” Yondu grinned wider, pulling you towards him and holding you in a side arm hug before spidering his fingers into your ribs. “I thought ya liked stories?”
To your embarrassment you squealed and laughed like a child, squirming in his grip to get free. “Stop! Cut it out!” you whine through hysterical giggles. You couldn’t believe he was doing this. You wanted to die. Actually, no. You wanted to kill him. Slowly and most painfully.
He stopped almost just as soon as he began and you punched him in the arm, your face completely flushed. “Not cool!”
Satisfied, Yondu just grinned at you and Lucas before stating he better go check on the crew. As he walked away he yelled back a final request that made you want to turn invisible, and you internally vowed to never speak to Yondu again. “Ya better keep the door open! I’m gonna check!”
Lucas looked at you, and despite a blush creeping into his own cheeks, attempted to make you feel better. “You have a really cute laugh, by the way.” he said, smiling. You smiled back and decided to finish showing him around and attempt to forget what just happened.
