you are doing absolutely amazing. i don't have a dad, i don't have a kid so im not a dad, but im proud of you. idc if you're the dad or the kid, im just proud of you. these past years have been truly difficult for everyone, i can't imagine what it's like having to deal with all that and also having to help and take care of a tiny you! from the kid perspective, thank you. thank you for all the help and taking care of us. we are difficult little rats i know, but we love you. thank you for being with us. NOW to all the dads that were abusive in some way shape or form and still haven't straightened up! you're not a father, you're not a dad. you're a monster.

Janus would really try to be at least mildly annoyed with everything Patton did. Afterall, Patton had intruded himself in on Janus’s alone time hobby, spilled flour twice already, and had booped Janus’s nose with powdered sugar.

Janus wanted to be mad. But he just couldn’t, rolling his eyes with a smile he’d try to hide as Patton almost slipped on the flour, barely regaining his balance to get the eggs to the counter. He patted a flour covered hand (curtesy of Patton’s clumsiness) on top of Patton’s head. It was half payback for Patton messing up his kitchen, but Patton only giggled in response. “How many eggs?”

“Two,” Janus hummed our in response, grabbing the chocolate chips. He glanced back at Patton, a soft and fond smile on his face before he went back to baking, measuring out the chocolate chips (and adding a few extra... just for Patton).

Logan and Virgil playing chess!

Hear me out, okay? Logan, the analytical, strategic side. He's seen as a master of chess, because it's requiring pure brain juice, yes? So Roman doesn't play with him anymore because it's not a challenge at this point. Roman just loses a bit of his dignity every time he loses a g a i n in five moves or less.

Patton doesn't see the appeal. He sometimes plays to make Logan happier and stuff, but it's not really fun and he doesn't fully get it. (He sometimes plays with Roman though because he's making up these stories and scenarios about epic battles which are really fun and they change the rules a lot.)

But mainly, Logan plays with himself. So when Virgil sees the chess board laying around and asks Logan for a match, the other two are like "He is definitely going to wipe the floor with you." and Virge is like "Hm, whatever."

Did anyone anticipate how close the match would go? Of course not. Because no one would think LOGIC would have anyone close to equal when it comes to analyzing and foreseeing situations, making up all kinds of possible scenarios in his head and avoiding bad outcomes, right? But if that doesn't sound like the literal personification of ANXIETY then I don't know what does.

So yea, Logan really being challenged by someone else playing chess for the first time in a while.
