Matsu and his female s/o have officially broken up. S/o has moved far away and they haven't seen each other in years. Matsu hears someone at the door, answers it, and sees a kid. The kid says "hello, (blank)Matsu. My name is (blank). You don't know me but I'm (female s/o name) and your son/daughter." How does each Matsu bro react?
He raised an eyebrow and laughed to himself.
“Yeah kid and I’m made of money.”
The child’s eyes widened and a smile crossed their lips. “Areyou?”
“No.” He curtly responded.
The child fell silent “Oh.”
“Look kid, if you’re trying to make a few quick bucks Iapplaud you for doing so but come on. You gotta be a bit smarter about who youscam.”
“I’m not trying to scam you.” They retorted.
A loud laugh erupts from Osomatsu’s mouth.
“You show up saying you’re my kid with an ex I had yearsago. Come on. It’s a classic movie cliché.”
“But they say you’re my dad!” The child cried.
Osomatsu took a moment to catch his breath and wiped a tearfrom his face.
“Tell you what kid. I’ll cut you a deal. Bring your parenthere and if it’s my ex I’ll believe you.”
Osomatsu placed his hand on the kid’s head. “Up up up. Hold on, squirt I wasn’t finishedtalking.”
The child looked up at Osomatsu. Osomatsu took this chanceto see if the kid looked anything like him. He didn’t really see the resemblanceto him, but the kid does have his ex’s eyes.
He felt a hand on his and he jolted, looking down at the kid.The child asked if he was all right and he nodded. He took a deep breath beforefinishing his thought.
“If you’re lying, your parent’s gonna have to give me atleast $200 for babysitting you.”
He stared at the kid on his doorstep. It’s been so longsince he’s heard the name of his former lover. He’d be lying if hearing theirname again didn’t pull at his heart.
The child looked up at Karamatsu, wondering if they shoulddo something. Before they could speak up, Karamatsu invited the child into thehouse.
After offering the child food and a drink, Karamatsu led thechild up to the roof.
“My parent mentioned this was your favorite place.” Theymuttered and Karamatsu turned to face the child.
“What else did they say about me?” Karamatsu asked as hefailed to mask his interest in the answer.
“That you’re incredibly nice…a little too nice sometimes.” Thechild responded.
They sat in silence for a few minutes. Karamatsu was tryingto process all of this information but there was one question on his mind.
“Is it possible for me to see your other parent?”
“…They don’t know I’m here.” They meekly answered.
Karamatsu’s eyes widened in horror. Before he could speak, the child cut him off.
“You can take me back to them, you know.”
Karamatsu stared at the child and shook his head.
“All right. Let’s go find your parent.”
Choromatsu rubbed the back of his head and let out a sigh.
“Listen, kid. You’ve got the wrong guy.”
“I don’t! My parent said that you’re my dad!” They shouted.
Choromatsu stared at the kid, rather shocked at their outburst.
Maybe this kid was telling the truth? Nah. His ex wouldn’tkeep a kid if it were his. Would they? Nah. Who’d want a kid with a good fornothing NEET? This is obviously a scam.
He shook his head andtook a deep breath before responding.
“Look kid, I’m not going to believe you without your parenthere AND a dna test.”
“So if I bring my parent here and we go get a test, you’ll believeme?”
“IF it comes out to be positive.”
The kid’s eyes burned with determination. “I’ll be back!”
Ichimatsu did what any young adult would do when faced with thethreat of responsibility.
He slammed the door shut and ran up to his room to pet a catand hope that the child would go away.
Unfortunately, responsibilities force their ugly heads intoone’s life.
Matsuyo slammed the door to his room open and told him to gotalk to the child. Ichimatsu let out a low groan, grabbed the cat he waspetting and went downstairs to find the child munching on a snack Matsuyoprepared for them. Might as well get it over with.
Ichimatsu stopped in his tracks and lifted the cat.
The child shook their head no and Ichimatsu sat down next tothem whilst petting the cat.
“Sorry about slamming the door on you.” He muttered.
“My parent told me you’re bad with surprises.”
“What else did they tell you?”
“Well there isn’t much to say about me.”
They sat in silence for a few minutes. The child finishedtheir snack and the cat Ichimatsu was petting sauntered over to the child’slap.
“You know…” Ichimatsu began and the child looked up at him. “Yourparent and I went our separate ways. Why’d you come?”
“Why? I’m not the best person out there.” He muttered
Ichimatsu stared at the child in shock. Was this kid forreal?
“I really want you to come with me.”
“Come with you…where?” He asked, fearful of the answer.
“To see my other parent.”
“What if something happens to me? It’s late and I don’t knowmy way around.”
Ichimatsu looked out the window and he realized the kid hada point. He muttered under his breathand reluctantly got up.
“All right. I’ll take you to them, but I’m not talking tothem.”
He looked down at the child at his door step.
“So your parent is (ex)?” He cautiously asked
“…and they say that I’m your dad?”
Jyushimatsu brought his hand to his chin and stared at thekid for a bit. The child does know the name of his ex and it also appears to bethe appropriate age for their story to make sense. However, Jyushimatsu wasstill not entirely convinced that this child was actually his. He decided to goafter the source of this information.
He stared the child in front of him.
“Nope. I don’t see it. You’re not my kid.”
“I am!” The child pouted.
“You don’t look like me.”
“That’s good. I’m cuter than you.”
Todomatsu was taken back by the child’s remark. How rude! Hewouldn’t be the father to a kid with this much sass.
“Listen, kid I can’t be your dad. I haven’t seen your parentin years.” He replied trying to discourage the kid. However, this kid was persistent.
“What if I took you to talk to them?” They offered andTodomatsu scoffed.
“Why? They’re probably trying to scam me out of money. MoneyI don’t have by the way.”
“Doubt it. My parent says you’re a NEET.” The child responded.
Todomatsu stared at the floor for a few moments beforeresponding.
“…okay. Let’s go talk to your parent.”
“You’re really coming with me?” The child asked rathershocked at how easy it was to convince Todomatsu to go with them.
“You’re not after money…I’m starting to think you’re tellingthe truth but I need to see your parent with my own eyes to confirm it.” Hemuttered.
