The sound of giggles and shuffling feet woke you up, slightly muffled from the closed door but getting closer. You rolled over and threw an arm to the side, opening your eyes when you didn’t feel Sam next to you.
Frowning, you sat up and rubbed your eyes. Just as you were about to get out of bed to see where Sam was, your bedroom door cracked open and bright eyes peeked up at you.
“You ‘wake yet, Mommy?”
“Yeah, Katie Cat. Is Daddy with you?”
The door was pushed open to revealing your fiancé, smiling in the doorway.
“Morning beautiful.”
You smiled back as Katie walked slowly towards the bed, lifting up the plate she was carrying and setting it in your lap.
“We made you breakfast for bed.”
“Breakfast in bed.” Sam walked over and set a glass of juice on the bedside table, winking at you.
Grinning, you pulled Katie up on the bed next to you. “Did you make this all by yourself?”
Katie giggled. “No, Uncle Dean helped me with the eggs an’ the bacon. But I made the toast, an’ poured the juice!”
You kissed her on the forehead, wrapping an arm around her. “It looks delicious, baby.”
“It’s Mother’s Day, sweetie. So what are we going to do for mommy today?” Sam sat on your other side, resting a hand on your thigh.
“We’re gonna do all the chores so you can rest. Uncle Dean, too.” Your daughter looked up at you, beaming. “An’ then Daddy’s makin’ a fancy dinner for you.”
You raised a questioning eyebrow at Sam. “Really?”
Sam chuckled. “Well, that part was supposed to be a surprise,” he ruffled Katie’s hair, “but yes, I am.”
You gave him a light kiss on the lips, eyes shining. “Thank you.”
Sam kissed you back before standing and reached out for Katie, who jumped down from the bed and grabbed his hand. “You rest up. We’ll be in the kitchen.”
“See ya, Mommy.” Katie followed her dad out of the room, closing the door behind them.
You grabbed the plate and took a bite of Katie’s toast, smiling as you heard more giggles and laughter coming from the other end of the bunker. You shook your head affectionately.
How did you get so lucky?
This is part of @teamfreewill-imagine‘s ‘Daddy!Sam’ Verse- since today is Mother’s Day and Jamie is at Asylum, I asked her if it would be ok if I wrote a little drabble for her mini series for today. I hope I’ve done it justice, I absolutely adore Katie Cat and her family! I’ve tagged everyone who was in the tags for the most recent part. I hope y’all like it!
So I've been rereading your Daddy!Sam 'verse and I have a theory but I'm not sure if it's intentional or not... I don't know, I just feel like... maybe Dean is still in love with the reader? I don't know. Just my headcanon I guess haha
this is 100% intentional and you’re 100% correct in that headcanon my dear

Daddy!Sam ‘Verse - Masterpost
Kisses pressed to the knob of your spine and across your shoulder roused you from your peaceful sleep.
You hummed contentedly, letting your eyes flutter open to take in the dim light of your bedroom in the morning, the small windows at the top of your walls doing their best to let natural light flood the room.
“Happy Birthday, babe,” you murmured as Sam rolled you onto your back, kissing your exposed collarbone. “You’re old, now.”
He laughed softly, pulling back and smiling down at you.
“How’d an old guy like me land himself a hot young thing like you?” he teased, and you grinned, draping your arms over his shoulders.
“You were a hot young thing once, too,” you reminded him, and he pinched your side, causing you to laugh. “You’re not old. You’re maturing. Like a fine-”
“If you say ‘like a fine wine’ I’m within my rights to banish you from this bedroom,” he cut you off, but you smirked.
“I was gonna say ‘cheese’.”
He looked at you, unsure how to react, until you grinned, pulling him down into a kiss.
“Come here, you sexy hunk of brie,” you teased, kissing him firmly.
You could tell that he was torn between taking offence and melting into the kiss but, when you hooked a leg over his hip, his decision was made.
Unfortunately, a knock of the door took that decision away from both of you.
“At least she’s learned to knock,” you offered, and Sam groaned, rolling off of you and onto his back.
“Come in, Kate,” he called, and your daughter slowly pushed the door open.
“Hi,” she smiled from the doorway, and you laughed, propping yourself up on your elbows but keeping the covers over you.
“Hey, sweetheart. Are you gonna come in?” you asked, but she shook her head.
“I’m just s’posed to say that breakfast is ready in five minutes,” she told you, and Sam smiled.
“You made us breakfast?” he asked.
“With Uncle Dean,” she explained.
You and Sam looked at each other before looking back at her.
“What did you just say?” you asked, and she frowned.
“With Uncle Dean,” she repeated. “Five minutes, okay Mommy-Daddy?”
You both nodded, dumbly, and she left the room.
You sat in silence for a moment before looking at Sam.
“What happened to ‘Unca Dean’?” you asked, and he sighed, tucking your hair behind your ear.
“Our little girl’s getting old, too,” he murmured.
You smiled, a little sadly, before kissing him once more.
“Raincheck on the birthday sex?” you asked, and he laughed softly.
“Raincheck,” he confirmed.
Katie and Dean had prepared an array of breakfast foods - from healthier options like egg white and bell pepper omelettes, to the sugary goodness of waffles and maple syrup, with everything in between - and the four of you ate as a family.
“Is this my present?” Sam asked, smoothing Katie’s hair down.
She frowned around a bite of pancakes, looking up at him in confusion.
“It’s… it’s your daddy’s birthday, sweetie,” you reminded her, and she nodded.
“Yah, I know,” she rolled her eyes. “But this is just the first bit of his present.”
“There’s more?” Sam asked, looking at Dean.
Dean frowned, nodding.
“Dude, my gift to you is right next to you,” he explained, and Sam looked down at his daughter.
“I love Katie Cat, but I’m pretty sure that Y/N and I made her ourselves,” he reminded his brother, and Dean laughed.
“Not Kate. Y/N.”
You laughed softly as Sam’s large hand rested on your thigh under the table.
“You’re giving me my fiancée?” he clarified, and Dean nodded.
“For a whole day and night,” he confirmed. “Uninterrupted apart from a scheduled dinner time.”
“Tonight at seven,” Katie told you. “Tha’s the rest of your present. Me and Uncle Dean are makin’ you a romanteric dinner.”
“Romantic,” Dean corrected, and she nodded. “So get clean and dressed up for 7pm, and make your way back through to here. We’re gonna be your cooks and waiters.”
“I’m a waiter,” Katie nodded, and you grinned.
“The best,” you agreed.
Sam squeezed your thigh slightly, pushing his plate away with his other hand.
“Let me get this right,” he smiled. “Y/N and I have a whole day… to do whatever we want. No interruptions?”
“Even grown-up time,” Katie whispered, and you laughed.
“Happy Birthday, Sammy,” Dean told his brother, smirking. “You guys, go. Me and Kate will clear up in here, then we’re out until this afternoon.”
Sam kissed the top of Katie’s head, getting to his feet and patting his brother’s shoulder appreciatively on his way out of the room.
You laughed, standing up and walking around the table to Dean.
“You’re a good brother,” you told him, leaning down to kiss his cheek. “He needed a day like this, with all the… you know.”
“All the British d-bag crap,” Katie interrupted, and your smile turned to a look of chastisement.
“If this day ends with her learning more curse words, I’m not gonna be happy,” you told Dean, walking to your daughter and hooking a finger under her chin. “Be good for Uncle Dean.”
She nodded, pursing her lips as you kissed her softly.
“See ya later, Mommy,” she smiled, and you patted her head as you walked off towards your room, ready for a rare full day of Sam.
Katie grinned at Dean as they started to clear the table.
“Why are you smiling, monkey?” Dean asked, taking the plates she handed to him.
“Mommy and Daddy are havin’ the whole day alone,” she told him, and he nodded.
“Well, yeah,” he laughed slightly. “Means you get the whole day with Uncle Dean.”
She nodded again, trying to suppress her smile this time.
“What?” Dean laughed, and she threw herself into his arms as he reached for her.
“The whole day,” she reiterated. “Together.”
Dean nodded, confused until she explained herself.
“A whole day to bring me a siblin’.”
He let out a surprised laugh, placing a kiss into her hair as he sat her down on the counter.
Imagine your daughter asking why it’s taking so long to get a sibling
You were sat across Sam’s lap in the library while the two of you topped up your lore knowledge.
His arms were around your waist as one of your arms draped over his shoulders, holding the old book open with your free hand.
The sound of your daughter’s footsteps on the concrete floor of the bunker’s hallway had you putting a bookmark in the page, knowing you were about to be interrupted.
Katie stopped still once you came into view, waiting to be invited in.
“Get in here, monkey,” Sam told her, and she smiled, rushing over to the two of you.
You lifted her up into your lap, not really sparing a thought for the fact that it would be adding the weight of a five-year-old onto Sam as well.
“I thought you were playing with Uncle Dean?” you asked, and she nodded.
“I had a question but he tol’ me to ask you,” she explained, and you got to your feet when Sam patted your thigh, taking that as a hint that you and Katie were putting too much pressure on his legs.
You kept your daughter with you as you sat on the chair next to him, kissing the top of her head.
“What question?” you asked, looking at Sam skeptically.
“Why’s it takin’ so long for me to get a siblin’?” she questioned, and you bit your lip, deciding that her father could take this one.
“What, uh, what-” Sam cleared his throat. “Why do you think?”
She hummed in thought, before deciding on an answer.
“I think there’s too many people wantin’ babies,” she told you, “An’ even if I’m prayin’ for one every night, Mr. Chuck has more prayers to answer for families without babies?”
The answer surprised you. You’d expected something to do with a stork, or maybe even something more accurate - you couldn’t ever be sure what Dean had told her - but this answer was much more profound.
Sam nodded, the corners of his mouth pulling down for a second as he sniffed.
“Yes,” he told her, still nodding. “I think you might be right there, kiddo.”
Katie nodded back, turning in your lap to look at you.
“I’ll keep prayin’, Momma,” she told you, and you smiled as she pushed up to give you a kiss.
“Thanks, Katie Cat,” you mumbled, and she smiled, curling into your lap.
Imagine Sam finding your daughter talking to Sully
“I’m telling you, she’s talking to herself.”
Sam laughed as you walked back into your bedroom, a towel around you as you dried your hair.
“I’m not kidding,” you told him. “I just walked by her room on the way from the shower, she’s chatting away to herself in there. Talking through the plot of Moana.”
You allowed yourself a small laugh at that. The kid was obsessed with that movie.
“Do you want me to check on her?” he asked, and you shrugged. “Alright.”
He kissed your cheek on his way to Katie’s room.
“An’ then she was the chief an’ then they all went voyagering on the ocean,” your daughter was saying, and Sam laughed slightly until he heard an all too familiar voice respond.
“They were voyagers? For real?”
Sam pushed the door open, frowning when he saw his old imaginary friend sat on the floor with his daughter, playing with Lego.
“Sully?” he asked, confused, and the two of them looked up at him. “What- ah, what-?”
“Daddy!” Katie gasped, “You can see him?”
Sam nodded. “Yeah sweetie. Can I speak to him alone for a sec?”
Katie nodded, and Sully got to his feet, following Sam out into the hallway.
“How are you, Sam?” Sully asked, and Sam laughed slightly.
“I’m, I’m good,” he told him. “I’m really good, actually.”
Sully smiled, genuinely happy to hear it. “That’s great.”
Sam nodded, biting his lip and looking into the room at your daughter playing happily.
“I- is Katie...” he couldn’t figure out what he was trying to say. “Is she like me? Is that why she has you?”
“She’s like you in a lot of ways, Sam,” Sully agreed, and Sam sighed sadly.
“I didn’t... we thought she was happy.”
“She is!” Sully insisted, “Oh, Sam, she’s the happiest little girl. She loves you so much! And her momma? Her momma sounds amazing! She talks about you all the time. And Uncle Dean? He’s made a great impression on her already. Katie Winchester is the happiest little girl I’ve worked for in years.”
Sam smiled, relief causing his eyes to glisten. “I thought- I thought we’d... I don’t know. Ruined her childhood?”
“Oh, no, Sam, you’re the best dad,” Sully insisted. “I’m just here for companionship. It’s not like she has any kids to play with...”
He trailed off, looking at Sam hopefully.
You walked out of your room to see your fiancé talking to himself in the hallway.
“Are you kidding me?” you laughed, causing Sam to look at you before looking directly ahead again.
“Sully, do me a favour and meet Katie’s momma properly?” he asked, looking back at you and adding, “Don’t freak out.”
You jumped as a plump and friendly looking man in rainbow suspenders appeared beside you, and you instinctively moved away, behind Sam.
“Oh my goodness, you’re just as beautiful as Katie says!” the man squealed.
You laughed slightly, looking at Sam for an explanation.
“This is Sully,” he told you, laughing softly. “He was my imaginary friend as a kid, but now he’s Kate’s.”
“Right,” you nodded, offering your hand before being pulled into a hug.
You let out a surprised yelp, hugging back awkwardly.
“Sully was just trying to convince me that having another baby is a good move right now,” Sam told you, and you raised an eyebrow, pulling away.
“I never said that,” Sully protested. “I just pointed out that she doesn’t have any kids to play with...”
He trailed off again, not quite saying it but implication heavy in his tone.
“One day,” you promised. “Besides, she’s joining school soon.”
Sully nodded as Katie came to the door, looking up at the three of you.
“Can we play now?” she asked, and you laughed, pinching her cheek.
“Sorry baby, you can have your Sully back now,” you told her, smiling as she grabbed his hand and pulled him back over to the Lego set up.
You turned to Sam, unsure what to say.
“Our daughter loves us a lot,” he told you, pulling you into a soft kiss. “She brags about us to her imaginary friend.”
You grinned, “We’re good parents?”
“The best, apparently,” he laughed, turning to watch Katie playing happily. “I can’t believe she got Sully.”
You smiled, wrapping your arms around him from behind as you watched the pair interact.
“Maybe we should have another kid,” you murmured, and Sam smiled, turning his head to kiss the top of yours.
