Dear Wynonna Earp Fandom

I know there is a lot going on right now. I know that everyone is wondering what Waverly is gonna do and how Rachel will react and how they plan to bring Nicole back and when will they talk about the engagement and will we see a wayhaught wedding and what’s gonna happen in the next ep. I know it has been an emotional roller coaster in these first 5 episodes of season 4.

But can we just take a minute.

Can we take a minute to appreciate the fact that (at least for me) for the first time ever in my tv watching life I’m not worried. I’m not scared. I’m not wondering “Is this it? Is this the end of another one?”

Can we take a minute to appreciate the fact that for the first time ever we are not worried that the canonically lgbt+ character is actually going to (permanently) die?

Like this is a first for me! There is drama sure but the writers and the cast and crew give a shit! They care enough about us that they consider the story they are telling and the impact it has on us, and the impact that historical/previous queer stories have already had on us.

I trust the show and it’s creators completely. I trust that they have our best interests at heart and I have never fucking had that before! EVER!

I know when it comes down to it, there is so much work that needs to be done in lgbt+ representation across all forms of media. And I know that this is only one relatively small show. But can we stop for just a second and appreciate this milestone? I KNOW that Nicole is going to be ok. I KNOW that at the end of this Wayhaught will sail on CANONICALLY and not just in fanfic. Most people will never understand or appreciate how much of a fucking revelation and relief that is. But we do!

Wynonna Earp is so fucking special! What they have done, at least for me, is so special and so important!

It may be a shitshow but for once, it’s OUR shitshow!
