It's minorly annoying it's only in theaters for five days (WHY?), but I'm really grateful I was able to get out and finally see it. I've been a fan since Anaïs Mitchell's original album and I've always seen that as the REAL version, while the theatrical one was just some adaptation. But I'm officially a convert (even though I think a few songs are better on the original, but I won't name which).

And how fortunate are we that André De Shields' performance was immortalized in this?? He was an amazing Hermes.

I keep thinking about this moment because it was really sweet and unprompted. Catherine was so excited to be there and wanted so badly to do a good job (she did a GREAT job with maybe the hardest episode yet) and to get a little praise from someone with as much Dropout success as Ify? You can't buy an ego boost like that!

She also really IS good at Game Changer because there's no damn way I would've ever figured out the trick, let alone as fast as she did. Also the fact she instinctively just gave away everything she learned to help other constestants. I hope they bring her back for a less chaotic episode soon.

I wish I had written more DS9 AU fic back in my fic days, but to be honest I didn't have access to these types of inspirational pictures of "Dax" and "Kira" in other realities to spark the flame.

Fans of Warren Zevon, or me, or charity! Or all three! I was lucky enough to get included in this anthology of crime fiction inspired by the music of Warren Zevon (I chose the song Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead). It's coming out next Tuesday, July 7, in digital and paperback, and all proceeds go toward Philabundance, a non-profit food bank centered in Philadelphia.
