a child deserved happiness. a sick child deserved the world. she would not have the world that night nor the following night and likely not even the night after , but a piece of it would suffice for the moment. he did not understand it himself — the fascination for the loud , the bright , the flashy , the . . everything which normal people enjoyed. it was never a part of his upbringing and while there were those who were starved for it , no such void was formed inside of him. that was not to say there were no voids inside his heart ; he was starved for familial love not trinkets which crackled and flashed like a faulty flare. has sephiroth , the ultimate weapon , not been physical built for warfare , all the sounds of explosive material would have triggered memories of death and dismemberment.
the bursts of colour in the sky were different enough his mind was not driven to images of gore. blue , cyan , orange , green danced in his eyes , and the colours danced in her eyes as well. in truth , sephiroth enjoyed watching the sparks of munitions in her eyes rather than watching them for real. there was no darkness inside of the child. there was glee. hope. although he did not feel it himself , he understood it when he saw it ; there were more than one kind of spark in the young one's eyes. to ease the strain of her body and facilitate her happiness , sephiroth bent over and picked the child up , hauling her to his shoulder.
that very instance made the revered and infamous SOLDIER feel more of worth than his destruction of enemy forces. sephiroth was worth something. with the tremendous broadness of his shoulder , there was no real necessity to hold the child's legs but hold onto her he continued. then , too late , he realized it would be his neck which would be tilted awkwardly if he wished to continue watching the boisterous spectacle through rem's @axgmented hues. thus he was forced to watch them first hand and wished he had her wonderment and thirst for life. it did not arrive for him that night yet the night was neither loss nor regretful.
