What I want from TotK: Ganondorf should embrace his daddy energy, become a good guy and adopt Link and Zelda. I just want him to teach Link how to take care of his hair or something similar. 🥰

Awareness

A steady tap rolls through the war tent as the Demon King drums his thick ringers against the table. His forehead rests in his other hand, his stained sweatband sliding up against his index and thumb to reveal part of a scar. Yellow eyes wearily run over the scattered maps and letters illuminated by candlelight.

A sharp snap of canvas breaks his focus. The dark giant’s gaze dart to the front of the tent as a small ragged finger dashes in, nearly stumbling over his pointed shoes/ waving a wax tablet and wood stylus.

“Sir! Sir!” clamors a boy’s voice beneath a wide-brimmed hat. The King sits forward, his palpebrous features knotting with concern, as the child stumbles to a stop beside the table. Tipping his hat back, a tan face with bright, blue-eyes stares up at him; strands of spun wheat fall about his ears, and little lips sit slightly apart as he catches his breath.

“Sir, are you aware,” the boy begins, “that you...”

The towering man leans further, his jaw tightening.

“...are a dad?”

For a long, arduous moment, the Demon King just stares at the other. He slowly closes his eyes, then draws a slow, steady breath.

“Link,” he notes, “you are a nut.”

A large, toothy grin cracks upon the Imp’s face and he throws his arms around the large man’s neck. Bright giggles rise through the tent with the aid of a deep, rolling laugh as the giant pulls him in for a hug.

“And you know just when I need a laugh...”

This was inspired by an image shared by an artist I follow (originally uploaded by another), which inspired the artist to do a super cute image of Fi. It got me giggling after a rough day, so in effort to spread the joy and creativity, here’s some DaddyDorf & ChildLink* bonding.

* Should I call him ImpLink? Or just keep it ChildLink?
