Khadgar was discussing matters of the Kirin Tor with the Council of Six when Ansirem nodded behind him. Turning, the Archmage watched as someone came up the hallway.
The little someone huffed as they carried a bucket, needing to wrap their arms all the way around it, their fingers barely touching. The small figure ran up the hall, teleported forward several feet in a small flash of light, then promptly tripped.
They got back up, picked the bucket back up, and huffed the rest of the way into the council chamber.
"Here you go, Daddy!" The little girl said brightly to Khadgar, holding the bucket up as high as she could. "You forgot your lunch!"
"Why thank you, Ciel." He replied, taking the bucket from her and setting it on the table, wondering all the while when he had started taking a packed lunch.
"I blinked on the way here!" Ciel said brightly.
"I saw! Well done. Are you alright though? I saw you fall down go boom."
"I'm okay!"
"Well alright then. Thank you for the lunch."
"You're welcome! Bye bye Daddy, I love you!"
"I love you too, sweetie."
And with that, the young girl ran off.
The archmage turned back around to see his colleagues all smiling.
"Light, your daughter is the cutest thing ever." Jaina said, her hand over her heart.
"You've given me baby fever, damnit." Modera replied. "And I already have three."
"So what did she pack you?" Karlain asked.
"Well let's see...." Khadgar took the lid off the bucket and placed each item on the table one by one.
"One bag of cookies."
"Two bags of cookies."
"Three bags of cookies."
"Four bags of cookies."
Everyone was full on grinning, and one or two were suppressing laughter.
"Ah, here we are! A sandwich, an apple, ans some cheese-wrapped sausage. Oo, and a note!"
"Can she write yet?" Amsiram asked.
Khadgar shrugged. "Ciel's having trouble with the difference between uppercase K and lowercase k."
He opened the note and read aloud.
"Dear Master Khadgar.
Ciel insisted on packing you a lunch, despite my repeated reminders that you would be coming back for lunch just like every day, because, and I quote, "that's what Daddies need when they go to work." She also insisted on packing it herself with no suggestions as to the contents, but I was able to sneak in some actual food past her. "
At this point, Jaina was bent over in half, hand pressed over her mouth and tears sliding down her cheeks as she muffled her laughter. Modera was shaking her head fondly.
"So.... are you actually going to eat all that?" Karlain asked.
"Are you kidding me? I'm going to go have a picnic!"
